England (337/4) defeat India (336/6) by 6 wickets to win 2nd ODI - Series level at 1-1

We batted well but truth is this is England's second string bowling attack.

If you didnt know these players hold an English passport and you met them somewhere, you would think:

Morgan is definitely Irish
Currans are definitely South Africans
Malan is definitely a South African
Archer is definitely a West Indian
Jordan is definitely a West Indian
Roy is definitely a South African

Come at me again if anyone disagrees. They are not 'English'.

And Stokes is New Zealander :inti

If you are just fielding players out there for the sake of it, not sure why Saqib Mahmood cant play as the rotational bowler who needs more exposure. He is a more potent bowler than these Curran bros at least!

Mahmood was scheduled to be playing the PSL. You're right though, he should have been here. The guy has great potential, especially in the shorter formats.

I am pretty sure Ryan Sidebottom who was playing in that Road Safety Series few days ago would have bowled better than Sam Curran here. :inti

Why butler unhappy its was a clear wide ball

Butler is a proper sulk. He is often painted as this heroic cricketer due to his aggressive nature but the guy is always sulking behind the stumps for sure!

The Curran Bros, a clear example of privilege.

Love seeing these two getting mullered!

The three "Next Big Things" showing how it is done. Absolute flaying of the bowling attack.

KL Rahul
Rishabh Pant
Hardik Pandya

:inti

Saqib Mahmood also looks average.. he would have been murdered on these flat pitches as well..
England pace bowling in LOIs is rubbish apart from Archer and Wood.

Pant is a serious slogger at backend of innings and commiserations to those who think u can score at breakneck speed with technique in final overs

He doesnt look as good as Archer, Wood, Plunkett, Woakes but he isnt any worse than the Currans, Stokes and Topley lol

Topley is a specialist T20 bowler actually

What is the name of the seamer who made his debut in 2nd test? He looked really good and was bowling phaast. Eng should have included him rather than trundlers like Curran.

Curran brothers vs Pandya Brothers..
Last time i saw something like this was Whittal bros of Zim vs Waugh Bros of Australia.

Well saw him in T20Is.. may be different in longer form. Lets see.

Pandya's off side game is not as strong as leg side. Yet Curran was serving on his pads suggests Eng didnt do any homework...lol

Buttler can't handle the responsibility and Stokes is too wild. Moeen should have been given the captaincy again.

You missed Moeen and Rashid

This is England’s second strong bowlers but a champion team should be able to do better than this when its top bowlers are out injured.

India A-bowlers Bumrah, Shami, Jadeja are also not playing. and of course Australia trip.

Not a single consistent 140 kph+ bowler in the Eng lineup today which is odd considering they are generally pretty good at managing their players for different roles. Yes bubble management and thus not being able to call someone in does make a difference as well in terms of managing squads.

Now the Pandya brothers are players that are extremely useful to have in LO cricket. Decent batsmen, decent bowlers and good fielders.

Also, is the younger Pandya the vice captain?

No matter the situation atleast 2 indian batsmen always step up when required in t20s or ODIs which means they will always put good totals on the board.

Tom Curran 2-81

These would be Anderson’s figures after bowling 40 overs in a Test in Australia whilst the team goes for 650-5

Krunal, Jadeja, Axar, Sundar - 4 players fighting for that no 7 spin all rounder spot.

A huge difference in technique between Pant and the Pandyas. The latter will fire much more consistently, the former will fail more often than not.

Bilateral series with Pakistan cant come any sooner considering the team we have now :ajmal

It seems the other way around to me, Hardik just clears his feet every time, while Pant plays all around the ground and has a way bigger range of shots and a knack of picking gaps by prescision

Supporting Eng today and want them to win just to ensure Sunday's game is not dead rubber.

First 35 overs: 173/3. Last 15 overs: 163/3

Almost doubled the score

Moeen and Rashid are born and bred in England so more English than the above list...

It will be interesting to have a match between Pakistan and British Pakistani XI. Won’t be surprised if British Pakistanis come out winners.
And the way things are going, even American Pakistani XI can also beat Pakistan in a decade.
