England beat Bangladesh by 21 runs in the first ODI

Bangla fielding is as pathetic as it can get. Really, we've seen some minnow level catching from the Bangla fielders today.

Fielding has let them down more than anything. Had they taken those chances, Bangla would have been in a better position.

We would have also won that 444 Runs match had we not bowled No balls and taken catches.

Exactly, u definitely don't wanna drop two dollies of a batsman of stoke's caliber.
 
We bowled well, but some outrageous fielding has allowed England like 40-50 extra runs. Ground fielding was good, catching - pathetic

250 is probably a stress as ENG bats deep, but below 280 was indeed possible. However, with this catching, I am relieved that the target is not 380.

Bangladesh didn't bowl too poorly TBH. On this flat wicket you have to entice the batsman to make mistakes which our bowlers did but were not rewarded properly. Not too many extras conceded.

I wish our team didn't treat fielding as an extension to bowling, fielding itself is a discipline on its own. We don't just need a coach, we need people to ensure that our players put as much important on fielding as they would on bowling/batting and coaches should also select team accordingly. Its such a shame that Nasir and Soumya have lost their form. Both are world class fielders.
 
It's a flat wicket. Bangladesh bowled well in the start, dropped Stokes twice was major downfall. Could have kept England under 280 if Stokes was out early.

Having said that, one stage it looked 330+ the way Stokes was striking them, with Butler to come. So I think 310 is doable, need a good start, BD. Big guns have to fire.

On a flat wicvket, England a mighty batting side (have been since 2015 WC) doesnt mean BD is bad. if it does then, what does it make SA and Aus bowlers, conceding 370 other day? and Australia the number one ranked ODI side, conceding over 300s in SA, 3nil down?

Some desis logic is beyond laughable. One innings you get hit for 309, you become poor side, to them. But the same team hammered them with ease 3-nil. 2-1 :D not so long ago lol...

Decent Start by Bangla. They r quite lucky that they haven't lost a wicket yet. Keyes is playing horribly. Well, he's just smashed a boundary...... That's good. But atm he's leaving dangerously.
 
This Kayes guy is good, Tamim should just give him the strike.

Vince looked fine at the crease til he got out, and has in practically every innings hes played for England in limited overs so far. Kayes alternatively has looked like a leg side hack so far.
 
Need to play cool headed. English bowling is nothing special!! Both Moeen and Adil BD players can attack and score 70+ on each quata
 
Thankfully Tamim Iqbal gone, hopefully someone comes who can rotate the strike and play with more intent.
 
I've been following Tamim Iqbal for a while and he always seems to make merry against weak teams but tends to go missing against the stronger ones or the important matches in LOIs. May not be an accurate reflection of his career but he has been doing that in the last few months.
 
Bangladesh is clear favorite to win this. England's so-called supremacy on the home ground is badly exposed
 
BD has a set platform to chase 309. Only 228 are needed in 36 overs.

Very much doable if they don't do anything silly.
 
Sabbir is their most elegant hitter, was out in an unfortunate fashion :(

100/2 in 18 overs. Good match in hands if these 2 bat for another 10 overs.
 
How on earth England trust this Adil Rashid. 1 Moeen is more than enough as spinner
 
Looks like Afghanistan has better bowlers than England team. Bangladesh were struggling against them
 
At the end of 20 overs 114/2. Utilise the dew and milk these spinners for next 10 overs. As i type that Rashid is smashed for another :four

Suggest an alternative spinner. England have a real shortage of top spinners.

Maybe Mason Crane but he's too raw.
 
so i'll ask the question every pakistani fan really wants to know regarding this series: what happens to their points bangladesh gets whitewashed in this ODI series?
 
Bairstow has picked up a hip injury. Sounds fairly serious so will presumably be replaced by Billings in the team for the rest of the series. Hopefully he'll be fit for the tests.

Yes he has been pretty bad offlate,needs to build on his game and potential,this is the right team with Fizz missing but once again imo they screwed up with Riadh's position.

It's good that they never allowed Asking to reach 7, but I think, lost just 1 wicket more than comfort zone. Probably, Mahmud's batting position is going to cost this match.

Friend, conditions were totally different and don't forget two of their key bowlers, Wood and Plunkett aren't playing.

Plus, yet to be seen how BD will perform on away tours with full strength opposition in AUS, ENG, SA, NZ and IND.
 
Kayes better win this for Desh he has so far costed at least 10 runs with his running post that niggle.

This is where that Mahmood wicket comes - had it been 212/3 now, Kayes could have gone for the slog. Now he has to finish the game, or at least take it to below 50 level.
