After getting two early wickets Babar should have introduced Nawaz along with Abrar. Now after Faheem he is bowling Mohammed Ali. These 2 medium pacers will let England settle down easily. Pakistan need wickets to get back in to the game
 
Horrible batting collapse by PAK.

There's too many weaklinks in this lineup from Imam the walking wicket on sporting pitches, Rizwan who's more a missionary than cricketer nowadays, and pseudo ARs like Salman and Nawaz (has Nawaz played even one half-decent Test knock in his career ?)

Every Test series we're confused about roles and our best XI which's reflected in our absymal results under Babar and Saqlain.

Wickets are only going to come from Abrar, Zahid may fluke one or two but at expense of giving a lot of runs. Nawaz would had done the same job as Faheem. Bowling Ali again was mindless decision.
 
What are Ali’s speeds?

He looks really slow.

Duckett could tie his shoelaces waiting for those balls to get up the pitch to him.

Wrong conclusion. You can’t equate poor selection with lack of talent. It’s not just about taking wickets. A selector should also judge things like age, potential, technique and playing conditions. Many players do well in domestic but you can tell they will never cut it at higher levels. Khurram Manzoor has been consistently topping batting charts for years yet everyone knows he will not be able to replicate that success at the international level or change or improve at his age. A good selector wil never pick players like Ali and Zahid despite their wickets and would instead go for players like Umar, Hamza and Sameen. If nothing they are young and at least have a chance of improving.

Bhai Nawaz is a left arm spinner, he can bring some variations from different angle. Honestly Faheem controlled some runs at this stage but Pakistan need wickets to put English under pressure. Babar started the inning with Ali who has so far bowled 5 overs with nothing. This is absurd captaincy as it is giving full opportunity for England to comfortably settle down
 
So far playing Nawaz easily, both are very good players of spin. Shame pak second pacer is poor.
 
Much better approach from England. Need to take Tim out if the game and make Pakistan bowl long spells.

Remarkable bowler Abrar and he was not selected for the first Test or tried for T20s earlier against England

Abrar didn’t surprise Root and got him out on the first over or so he bowled to him

Instead this was a long, hard battle which Abrar was mainly on top of and now he is rewarded
 
Root is kept quiet so far in this series which only good things Pakistan done so far

Athers was just talking on commentary about Babar’s obvious reluctance to bring him on.

Not sure if we will see Zahid in another Test match after this one.

Only Agha is wrong selection from the three you mentioned,Kamran Ghulam should had replaced him, but they cannot drop Agha without giving fair chances. Nawaz has his use both in batting and bowling. Zahid and Ali should not had been in squad going by their performances in the two matches.

It is a noob bowling attack and England are ruthless for pas year or so.

And we are not in this game.

Anything above 280 will be extremely hard to chase.

3-0 to England.

Pakistan should give a chance to Huraira in next game and maybe drop Rizwan for Sarfi.

Besides Babar Azam, there is actually no test class cricketer in this line-up. It’s a joke how bad we are.
 
Zahid leaks too many runs but so did Leach, may be worth a try to buy some quick wickets.
 
Mark Butcher likes the run rate and approach.

The whole side are basically the squad they picked for the World Cup

That’s why I said when MW announced the squad for the World Cup that ‘this is a good squad for the England series, we should be able to maintain an average of 3.5”

Nearly every player in this side is in Pakistan’s pool of T20 players or will be playing T20 cricket for them at some point.

They will constantly ignore the actual T20 players because Ramiz holds personal grudges and cares more about appearances than cricket itself
 
England dont need to do anything fancy ,score another 80 90 in the session and add 200 more tomorrow.

Hasan Ali averaged 41 in QEA Trophy. We are just going in circles - we must accept our seam bowling stocks are at all-time low.

He averages 67 this year with the ball in Tests. Yes the tracks were unhelpful for fast bowling but he was dropped for a reason. Don't forget his constant drop catches in the field.

Our bowling stocks are at all-time low. We can replace ABC with XYZ and it'll make little difference.
