Only people who have watched this match can judge Bangladesh's performance. There was a complete 360 degrees transformation of conditions when Bangladesh came on to bat whereas it was utopia for batting in the first and second days. And again the lack of street-smartness from the Bangladesh batsmen let them down. Mushfiq's wicket was the difference between Bangladesh reaching the follow-on target and missing it. Right after he was bowled play was stopped due to bad light. People who were at the ground told me it was literally unseeable when the wicket fell.

As for Ashraful the reason he played so many matches is because we didn't have replacements for him for all these years. But that's not the case anymore we have people like Nazimuddin and Faisal Hossain who are scoring heavily in FC cricket and for the A team and also youngsters like Shuvagoto Hom , who has had success in every level of cricket he has played. Right from Division two club cricket to A team cricket. I think it's time now for Ashraful to stop playing Tests. Otherwise it's going to be embarrassing for Bangladesh and International cricket to have someone with such a mediocre record with so many Test caps. He can still contribute in ODIs and T20s I feel. But it's really about time he realises Test cricket is not for him.

A few times have saved tests at lords from such a postion can bangla do it?

Bangla 61/0 at Lunch. So they have made a good start like they did in 1st inns but some batsmen need to go on and score big tons here!

Good start by Bangla. They need to play it session by session. As it stands right now, there are about 160 overs left in this match. Bangla need to play out as many of those as possible with some sort of respectable lead.

Let's hope another good start doesn't go to waste.

Good start so far, impressive stuff. Tamim's strike rate is a bit low considering the game situation though. :afridi

Its still long way to go they need to survive five session to draw the game and that is big challenge for them.

England on the other hand thinks that half job been done and more ten wickets away to make the job complete.

I've said it before ... Tamim is a CLASS batsman.

He looks good but needs to calm down in between aswell and look to carry on rather than keep on playing the big shots.

The thing is, he has the TALENT and ability to easily pull off the shots he's playing, unlike the other failures in his team.

Bangladesh are on the attack here, making England bowlers look ordinary

Also the thing here is that the shots that he's playing are daring shots and are going in the air but luckily out of the reach of the fielders who can just look at them in awe. :P

Has Kayes finally jumped over the hurdle?

Jamie Siddons = Best batting coach in the World.

Bangla have still alot of hard work to do and will need to bat till tea tomorrow atleast to save this match.

Bangla have been in these postions before and collapsed or thrown away all hard work with one bad session of cricket!

True!

Tamim is battering the England bowling attack. A very weak attack

Bresnan is a very good bowler. He will greatly trouble Pakistan's batsmen in the summer. He should definitely play against them.

(Hope some English selector is reading this.)

i think the problems with teams like bangla, pak, windies, and nz is the fact that they are highly dependent on individual players and that when two players have a good partnership, the rest of the team gets complacent and ends up folding. they are the most likely teams to have a collapse. the best teams in the world right now are capable of 200 and 300 7th wicket partnerships.

That was tremendous stroke play from Tamim but this really is a pop-gun English attack, even on the traditionally flat Lords wicket.

Bresnan opening the bowling in Test match cricket? Really?

Tamim is gone now................... Is it the start of another collapse for Bangladesh?

Really Exciting and brilliant knock by Tamim.

One of best hundreds ive seen made at Lords.

England will be looking for quick wickets now after tea. Bangla need another big partnership here.

Kayes needs to get his hundred and needs to be the base for others to bat around!

I can see Bangla folding at some point sadly!

watch them turn in to Windies Fab 4 when he play them.

England putting pressure on Bangladesh now after getting the first wicket.

Another wicket falls Kayes gone Bangladesh now struggling after good start they have losing their way now England looks to wrap up the game quickly now.

Tea - Day 4 | Bangladesh | 189/2 | 43 Overs | Bangladesh trail by 34 runs

Will be back after tea around 20 minutes from Lord's. ;-)

Well come Back for the Evening session. :)

England looks to dominate here for the final session.

Really impressive fight this from BD, they are doing exceedingly well for sure !! Simply brilliant and totally unexpected.

Can they save this one ?

Yes they can :P

Good partnership going for third wicket and brings up 250 up for Bangladesh still a long way to go.

I notice you have a tendency downplay any achievements Bangladesh has. Small steps at a time. This is the English attack that has been playing for over the past year barring Flintoff. This was a great knock and no need to just write it off.

Whats even more funny is how quick you write this attack off on a "flat" pitch and yet you are for the inclusion for Afridi in tests. You argue his high average yet if you look at his best knocks....90% have come on flat tracks. I even seen you cite his 100 vs West Indies, now that is a pop-gun attack on a flat track. His other hundreds have come at home on very flat wickets or in India....also flat wickets.

I am not here to downplay his innings, all were good in their respective right. I just find your double standards quite funny.

And I find your lack of comprehension quite funny.

It wasn't a shot at Tamim's innings. It was a comment about the severely depleted English pace bowling - I was genuinely shocked at the pace attack they went in with. Finn was alright, but Anderson looks totally off color and Bresnan is a trundler in Test match cricket. Even the likes of Sajid Mahmood and Liam Plunkett would have been better options. They're missing Onions here, who impressed, and Sidebottom, who would have been more dangerous. They're also decided to strangely rest Broad and its back-firing as I post.

If anything, it was a shot at England, who are being taught a lesson here. Just ask if you need any more help interpreting my posts.

Don't try to back track. You very much were downplaying the innings or you wouldn't need to mention "it was a traditional flat track."

As for comprehension, maybe you need to learn how to word your posts better, example:
That was tremendous stroke play from Tamim but this really is a pop-gun English attack, even on the traditionally flat Lords wicket.

You see where you say "but" you initially compliment him but then you add that but to suggest its not that great because "its a pop-gun" attack and a "traditional flat Lords wicket"

100 partnership for the third wicket been broken by Trott.

A timely wicket for England.

Bangladesh will have to survive for rest the overs of the day.

Bresnan was rewarded for his performance in Bangladesh. Broad was crap in Bangladesh and that along with fatigue resulted in him being "rested." Anderson is easiily the best English bowler at this moment. I can't wait to see how the Pakistani batsmen play this lollipop attack.

Tamim is really good! Can't wait to see the highlights of his innings. Well done Bangladesh, I hope they can draw this one.

Anderson is crap when there is no swing. Broad, otoh, relies on bounce. He obviously wouldn't have gotten much of it in Bangladesh, but would certainly get it in England. Broad won the English an Ashes you know. So yeah, I think he's higher up the pecking order for them. Onions and Sidebottom are probably better too.

There is no way England will play this attack against Pakistan. Infact I doubt that they'll even play the same attack in the next test if Bangladesh continue to bat as well as they have.

match is a draw, your hope become true.

Ashraful flops again. Hes pathetic. Why does he keep on failing. Needs to be dropped for a tleast a year till he regains his form. U cant keep playing because of his talent and reputation. He just cannot deliver the goods at the moment.

England will wrap up the game with a session to spare. Bangladesh simply cant handle pressure at the crucial times

Shadat could barely hold a bat. Shocking defence. Im surprised these tailenders atleast practice in the nets. That was a simple straight ball.

Stumps - Day 4 | Bangladesh | 328/5 | 85 Overs | Lead by 105 runs
