whats a good score..
The bowlers have come close to getting cook out but haven't yet bowled the ball that is just right.
Dammit Rahat! You can bowl too full to Cook and expect to get away with it but never even slightly too short

Hafeez better get a century on this pitch. Else he needs to retire from test cricket.
Any spin for Yasir?
I agree with the commies. Even in the last match Misbah had a deep point. It gives an easy single to the batsmen.
Commentators don't know what they're talking about. They kept whining about the deep point, how it made no sense, it was defensive etc. Those supposedly confusing, defensive field placings led to the English batsmen playing silly shots and losing their wickets as a result.
If there was a decent Pakistani commentator in the box instead of Ramiz then he would have explained that this is how Pakistan take wickets in the UAE, dry up the runs, crank up the pressure and wait for the batsmen to crack. Slow and low pitch at Lords meant UAE style was the perfect strategy, it's tried and tested and proven to work. Instead, Ramiz doing English commentary is a ******* who will agree with whatever the other commentators are saying.
You can tell who does and doesn't watch a lot of Pakistani test cricket by how much they moan about field placings.
actually a better batsman would have easily defended that and a batsman like Dhoni would have sent that into the stands
Interesting.
Defensive does not always mean bad. Defense with close in fielders can sometimes be the best.
If I may ask, what do you think about Dhoni's field placement outside Asia?
This pitch is too flat, our openers better pummel a lot of boundaries here.

EDIT: Well, I didn't know that word was censored. Ramiz is basically a brown noser
Well there is my problem with this placement. It gives the batsmen an easy single and get to the other end. Even in the previous game I was annoyed by the batsmen milking our bowlers over there.
It's purpose is to block the cut shot. In the previous game our bowlers were getting tonked so giving cover was understandable but a short and wide delivery will be put away most times despite that fielder and our bowlers have been much tighter in this match so we are better off with stopping that single and put pressure.
Wonder how long before we see reverse swing on this surface?
Important 20 minutes before lunch hopefully cook and root will be out before then![]()
The outfield is lush green and there is still some grass on the pitch. Probably will see after 50th over.
