This game is a proper test match being played session by session.

Win, lose or draw, the inexperienced Pakistan players would have learnt so much playing in these conditions and will help us move up to the next level.

Experience in losing and struggling is just as important as a quickfire 50 and winning. Howelse can you toughen up and learn to dig deep.

Botham trying his best to gloat of how Pakistan have let the game go after england being down for 7 wickets early.

Botham we will show you buddy. If not in this game then we will school you in the T20s or 50 over ODI's.

Sure, but when I look at the field, I'm not convinced that we've learnt anything from one session to the next.

Bumble and Botham still gloating. Keep on showing scenes of joy from yesterday.

Stop writing us off, it is day 3, not day 5.

seeing broad score so massively im afraid anderson and finn might do the same. :(

have we missed any chances of taking them out?

We never will my friend. Pakistan cannot field!!

I am more thinking about the mental aspect of test cricket and having periods where you have to dig your heels in and graft. This test will help them learn these traits to become a better testteam. Amir's heroics do not happen everyday.

botham is &nob, as for england in the ashes a thrasin is waitin in australia, even the s.africans wont save em there

day 3 and still on the first innings. under normal circumstances england wouldve declared and allowed pak to bat, but knowing the pitch is a batting haven they wont do it so soon.plus, they wanna end the series on a high note, like a massive 500 pak wont be able to top. but then if broad can do it im sure our phatu specialist batsmen can do it. just hope they do it with some speed.

i hope so, but have to say i'm not too optimistic. this is just dreadfully uninspiring, there's no plan.

But we've been having a bit too much of this experience lately. Too much experience has the danger of turning into habit.

Pakistans bowlers are struggle but having bowled well in 5 test this summer it maybe a case of not much left in the Gas tank for this match!

i guess God just wanted to reward amir with the 6 wickets and the lords honor of being the youngest 50 wicket taker, probably didnt want his efforts wasted.

By the way, I NEVER would have thought England would get this close to reaching 400 this innings! :))

this wouldnt hurt so much had we taken the wickets had a decent pace. we had them and then lost them, hurts more

England getting themselves into a strong postion here to really put pakistan under the pump!

everyone was sure they wouldnt pass 200, heck i thought 150 was max, and here broad the roti shakal has scored that much.

FOUR by Broad 384/7 England. Asif is causing no danger to the batsman

We are actually one result away from being unbeaten this summer, series wise!!

The glass if half full.

Listening to the BBC radio coverage, even Ramiz sounds completely beaten!!

We've lost this one, haven't we?

I know, I know. Pakistan hasn't batted yet. And we shouldn't write them off before even giving them a chance. And all that..

But t's true, isn't it? We've lost it.

Looks like a glorious day at Lords now. Blue sky with some white clouds.

Ajmal bowling to broad who had a wild hoik which dropped short of fielder in the deep.

Get Shoaib Akhtar in the side and he will bowl his 90+ mph yorkers.
If that doesnt get them out, it will scare the batsmen so the other bowlers can take the wickets.

broad probably wants his maiden 200. funny trott is at 163 and broad at 145, trott shouldve been past his 200, hes been playing for ages!

I hope Aussies win the ashes 5-0.

Why? Because we've been outplayed? Just sit back and enjoy good cricket. Expect England to really push the Oz for a fight. Just because our are guys empty-headed doesn't mean that we should deny others their earned success. This is Test Cricket, we failed our Test.

313 is the world test record for the 9th wicket partnership which was made by Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq

I will be surprised if this test match has any result . half of time of the match is gone and still 1st inning

Cant see a wicket falling anytime soon. 500+ is very much on now. Wasim and Saqlains record partnership is in danger

Broad is taking Asif apart. Asif looking very pedestrian today with his military medium stuff

Broad will get a 200 the way he is playing. I guess more records will be broken by England today
