ENG 42/0 (14.2 ov)
no future star here in current PAK lineup. :O
With the ball at least. Though I question some of the selections as a few of our leading domestic wicket-takers were left out of the team.

The 15 year old lad Wasim AKram rates very highly is playing..still young lad and match will be good experience for him

Two quick wickets by Imad Wasim and it's 182/4

Yes, I believe thats the left armer Wasim adores.

Good recovery by Pakistan.

Yay! Ameer picks up another wickt! Woohoo! Come on boyz lets get them under 300!

Good performance by our bowlers.

So much for all the negativity earlier in the thread.

Pakistan batsman better do something now or I will not buy them gola gunda
Eng 287-9 after 100 overs -
I guess they play by county rules there. So unprofessional

Well it isn't professional level is it, it is U19. :|

Decent bowling this time. Hopefully they can rap it up early tomorrow and then Pakistan can build up a nice lead of 100+. Nice bowling by Imad Wasim.

Azhar Attari picks up the last wicket. England finish off at 332.

Shan Masood and Ahmed Shahzaib to open, I believe.

Disgusting batting again.

Got your effigees ready?

Take a chill pill.......this is their first time in England, probably their first time out of Pakistan for most of these kids.

158 for 5 with Ali Asad not out 60

2 consecutive impressive knocks for Ali Asad. Looks like one for the future.

Mudassar supports four-day matches

DERBY, England: Director National Cricket Academy Mudassar Nazar has supported the idea of more four days matches instead of one-dayers at the junior level in future.

Talking to APP, soon after arrival here to see the Pakistan Under-19 team playing on its current month-long tour of England comprising two Tests and five one-dayers series here, he said: “I prefer four-day cricket which is positive and we will go for more at grassroots level so the players can learn how to stay on the wicket.

“When you stay on the wicket the runs comes automatically,” he added. He said that the boys have gradually been improving and that is why the tour had been planned for the youngsters so they got used to the English conditions.

About the England Under-19 team, he said, England have three to four players playing in first-class cricket where they have the exposure of playing four-day matches but in the Pakistan team no one has had such experience so far.

So on the card England is a better side and playing against a good side one has to learn more, he said.

The tour is part of preparatory measures taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide maximum international exposure to players in order to form a formidable side for the forthcoming Junior World Cup to be played in Malaysia next year.

Answering a question, he said, England are clearly a tough side because of their academic structure made for cricket. He said although Pakistan lost the first Test very convincingly against England yet the boys have been improving day-by-day as the batsmen played the second innings better than the first innings.

After the England tour, Australia and Bangladesh junior teams will be touring Pakistan and in return the Pakistan Under-19 team will visit Bangladesh before playing the Junior World Cup, Mudassir informed.

He also lauded coach Mansoor Rana for his key efforts in polishing the youngsters for the future.

I agree completely. The tour should have comprised of 3 odi's and 3 four-day games with the 1-days starting first. That way the boys would have acclimatised to the conditions by the time the 4-day games began and they would have also had an opportunity to settle into a meaningful 4-day series.

Englistan are 83 for 4 (lead of 196)

kids seem to be getting better, can't have helped them to get straight off the boat and with no acclimatisation be thrown into the first test match. seem now to be finding their feet.

opening bowlers starting to look interesting, even when not taking wickets managing to keep tight rein on the england batsmen.

30 run partnership between tailenders.

Hopefully we can draw it out this time.

Don't get the last one! The more you delay it, the less you have to bat! They're not gonna win anyway.

Of course they can win. Get the last wicket now and chase 340 in 105 overs at just over 3 an over.

Alright. Big effort needed now. About 15 overs left in the day. Lets get to about 50-0 at close.

There are 105 overs remaining? Really? But our batting stinks.
This match is 100 overs a day. I think the first or the second day they bowled 103 overs???

And that's based on what? A couple of innings? If the top 4 can put on about 200, we can win this game.

This is te last day innit?

If its not, hope we don't lose any wickets.

Oh nevermind, I thought they were 3 day tests, they are 4 day. Yes we can win. Need to keep a cool head though. We can't lose this!

We can win? But I thought our batting stinks? How is it that you've changed your mind so quickly?

Oooh! Nice stuff from Masood and Shahzad. Good start.

What's wrong with Cricinfo btw?

What are you guys following on? Is there any audio link?

We can win as in its possible. Possible as in enough time. We won't though cuz our batting stinks.

Ok. Good to have that cleared up.

35-0.

Wow, no Shahzad hits a four and takes it to 46/0. Simply amazing!

What;s gotten into these two today?!

Shahzad flays another four. 51/0. RR of 6.3.

Amazing considering they stink right?

Good start. 50 on the board, decent platform. 1 of these 2 needs to go on with it with support from the other end.

do they now its a "test" match. Too fast for my liking and in the end it might cause them cause they look like they are playing too many shots.

Oh man Shan Masood gone! He is our 2nd best batsman. But Shahzad still going strong.

That's stumps! 102-2
Doubt we'll be able to chase down the target, but you never know.

The poor batting effort in the first innings could haunt Pakistan. However a fighting effort today and you never know tomorrow.

123 for 2 at the moment......good start. Another 219 to win.

Ahmed Shahzad is not out 61 from 86 balls.

We can do this, there's time left in the game! Come on boys.. :D

131-2. Good platform set and now Ahmed Shahzad needs to go on with it. If he gets some support then a couple of substantial partnerships should take us home.

211 to win.

Lost a wicket; Taimur Ali goes.

Shahzad needs support and another partnership here is vital. I mentioned earlier that if we get to about 200-4 then we can win this game. A 50-odd partnership right now is much needed.

140-3

202 to win.

163 for 3. Can they do it - another 179 to win

I don't see why not. We're basically halfway there with our best batsman so far (Ali Asad) and the captain still to come.

Theres the 100 for Ahmed Shahzad! Well played son! Now put your head down and finish the job!

191-3

151 to win

Great stuff from Ahmed under pressure :14: It came in good time as well with a strike rate of 68.

195 for 3....another 147 to get.

204/3....still 138 to go..........what a knock by ahmed shahzad, keep going man ,you guys have to seal the victory.

213 for 3, 129 more runs needed for victory with 7 wickets in hand.

Thanks for making this a sticky guys.

Good show from the youngsters playing in alien conditions. These tours will do pakistan good for the future, we need to tour SAF and Aus a lot as well.
