Nope shami is way better imo. But the way umesh bowled in practice match all were saying drop shami and play umesh + ishant with hardik pandya, ashwin and kuldeep/jadeja

umesh should never be in first choice squad ,he is good only as a backup
 
ishant trundler sharma is one of the worst bowler to play test cricket.
 
No trolling - just an honest observation.

India look a very average bowling line up and Bhuvi and Bhumra who are missing are average bowlers and would make no difference.

Dare I say it but - Amir, Hasan , Abbas would have given England some serious headaches this morning. I’m not being biased and our trio aren’t world beaters. But I assure you they are one level up from the trundlers on display this morning.

There is a reason Umesh and Sharma average close to mid 30s. They’re not very good.

I know he has performed bad but on this pitch even bhuvi would have struggled. I will wait for umesh to see how he bowls in whole match before saying that.
 
Indian fans can safely switch off their tv sets until tea tomorrow evening. Hopefully by that time, the English will have taken pity and declared.. :sm

Bhuvi would surely have taken a wicket in starting overs .Umesh is no match to him.

No mate. Pakistan are not world beaters. But their bowling attack would have troubled England a great deal more. Currently, the England batters are playing In first gear and look like they facing club bowling.

Come on,Pakistan toured england in may and the conditions were quite different and this is not even our first choice attack.I still think that we won't let them pass 400.

These conditions are more at home for India than early May.

That bowler is our strike bowler and one of the most succesful indian bowler in england.
Umesh is going for runs and is removing all the pressure developed by other pacers
Imagine if abbas would'nt have been in ur squad.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game.

Umesh was chosen as a tactical decision. Management could have chosen a second spinner.

Also Umesh since his first spell has been good and has comfortably outbowled Sharma (your other frontline test bowler). Posters are just looking to criticise him.

If Abbas was injured we would have had plenty of back up, and as InziRules has said it was Abbas's first tour to England which just shows Pakistan's bowling depths.

I repeat England's injury woes are worse. No Woakes, Wood or TBR.

Dont compare indian bowlers to pakistani bowlers. If amir was indian he would be the most talented bowler ever. In pakistan hes not even top 5 bowler of all
Time. Also pakistanis shouldnt compare our batting to yours as we are nowhere your level.

Perhaps, but now you are speculating. You are comparing a definite (i.e. Abbas's performance) with speculation (i.e. BK's potential performance).

Shami and Ashwin are bowling well. Time for others to step up. Shouldn't let England cross 250.
 
Crazy how England still have a problem for their #2 and #4 position, and they've had this problem for at least 5 years, even longer actually.

England will easily score 250 here. I would say if we stop under 300 - 320 then there is some good chance for us.

England going nowhere... India will make them pay dearly.. they need to score runs.. the more they ll try defend ashwin more lethal he will be.

I think the likes of Atherton etc. know better.

Sharma was poor and lacked control. More than 40% of his opening spell was left alone. Read into that what you may.

By contrast, Umesh had a poor first spell but since then has bowled well.

He tried and there is no bounce in pitch. He is actually more of lbw/bowled than edge bowler and here actually its working for him right now.
 
Short spell for Ashwin, The hunter Sharma is back... He should bowl and incutter to something to get bairstow out

He tried against Jennings but lacked control. He was swaying out of the way with ease. There was plenty of bounce.

Doubt he will get enough bounce. Ishant can try but i doubt will get wicket with bouncer atm.

Has Shami lost weight? He looks leaner. If so, good for India as his fitness has been an issue.

Looks fit compared to past and bowling with great pace compared to umesh or ishant.
 
Need to get one of bairstow or root out quickly else will be hard for us.
 
Bring out Pandya. Let's see what he has to offer. I don't like what Umesh and Ishant are dishing out at the moment.

Pandya and Ashwin should be tried. And of course Shami if he has recovered his breath

Root shoukd get out anytime now. He is reaching his normal limit.

Of course if he gets to a 100 it will be a miracle and really terrible for India.

And Bairstoe has a habit of gifting his wicket by lobbing a catch to an infielder.

Basically India is expected to get a wicket anytime now...
 
Pandya's bowling is as threatening as Collingwood/Ronnie Irani's...should have gone for 2nd spinner or 6th batsman instead of him

Not in Tests.In the last four years, even Ishant Sharma averages less than Amir.And our bowlers have already bowled faster than yours in the first session itself.You cant get whitewashed against a team like Srilanka at your own bloody home and then claim your bowling is better than us.When was the last time your bowlers bowled anything like how ours bowled in the recent SA series against a non-minnow at their own home? Look at how your bowlers lost steam and trundled in the second test itself against England.

Just tuned into the match, shocked to not see Kuldeep playing on this pitch.

Shami, Ishant and Yadav are similar type bowlers. India should have dropped either Ishant or Yadav and played Kuldeep.

England must be relived that India is not playing 2 spinners.

Again bad team selection from Kohli and Shastri.

Agreed - Kuldeep with his mystery would have been a handful for these English batsmen who are vulnerable against spin but I expect him to feature in later tests particularly in Lords and Oval.
