ICC Champions Trophy, Group A : England [308/2] beat Bangladesh [305/6] by 8 wickets

There's no love lost between Tamim Iqbal and Ben Stokes. The two came to blows on England's tour of Bangladesh last autumn.

I am the last man to be convinced that PCB hosting BD in UK won't be financially feasible ......

English bowling is highly over rated. Struggling to get 3-4 wickets in 30 overs.

Wonder when will Bangladesh start smacking a few. Tamim needs to get the century out of the way

Not going to happen as it'd clash with England's home international and domestic season.

But The Oval especially is a great venue, I wish Pakistani wickets could replicate these conditions.

Its great for Asian teams as the pace of the wicket enables batsmen to play their shots, you can trust the bounce, but its also dry and as the pitch wears it offers spin and reverse.

So many batsmen to come.

Need to attack now as don't want to regret being 20 or 30 short later.

Bangladesh just slowing up. I am not sure for what? We have 4 specialist batsman to come

It can easily happen, trust me. ENG has the highest number of International quality cricket venue, over 20 if I can recall; even in 1999, many of the WC matches were hosted at Bristol, Northants.... There 2 clusters of Asian people in UK - London & surrounding, where even Cambridge's Packer's Park is better than most PAK grounds. Other cluster is a bit spread-out from Birmingham to Leeds - you have more than 10 grounds in those areas.

Schedule is absolutely no issue - in every week, if every County team plays & ENG, ENG Lions, ENG Ladies has schedule, still it's just 12 grounds occupied.

Try to push for doubles and triples.
Turn 5/6 run overs into 7/8 run overs.

Point is the games would be competing with and drawing focus away from England and county games.

BD are doing the best they could hope and gotta give them that, but if England bat at their best then sadly anything BD score won't be enough there is zilch in this pitch to worry batsman the only way English will fail if they lose it mentally otherwise they should win even if they have to chase 350 plus.

Even 320 wont look a threat on this pitch (that is if we reach there).

I see so much Rahim in sarfraz I think he can be carbon copy at 4 for pak role wise, only if pak had a think tank instead of thick tank, he is total waste below 5, MMHS

Mushfiq doing the exact role that Sarfraz should be in our side. Come in the middle overs and knock it around keeping the momentum up. Instead we'll see Sarfraz batting at 6 struggling in the slog overs and Hafeez at 4 doing his usual selfish ****

300+ against Pakistan.

200+ so far aainst England.

*** happened against India?

How on earth Jake ball got to play in England's playing eleven. Looks very ordinary bowler

Lovely batting, should get 150 more from here.

Great batting so far. Bangladesh should target 325.

Our bowling is not bad mind you.

Baffling why Rashid didn't play. It's not like the Oval is a small ground or a graveyard for spinners.

Atleast this will cool down England the favorites bandwagon, what an anti climax if they can't even beat weakest team in their group, good luck beating Oz and Kiwis, it will be almost curtains for poms if they lose today.

Isn't it a different set of audience? I am not sure how much Asian origin people bothers for ENG Test; may be for ODI, they can make a triangular with ENG.

Bangladesh has been super.Boys have made us proud once again.

And then people claim mickey is some avatar, if he can't even see such a logical move. We have only our selves to blame for most of our troubles, we lack good players but whatever decent players we have we can't even use them properly.

Tamim, mashaAllah, proud of you.One of the best opener in the the world now.

Captain needs to take responsibility aswell. He should know which position is best suited for himself rather than try to appease the likes of Hafeez.

Looking forward to some fireworks from Sabbir today. :afridi

Should look to start whacking the ball like mad after the ton.

Wohooooo. My man Tamim gets a hundred!! Superb as always
Just hoping Bangla bowl well now!

2007 Tamim.

2017 Tamim.

Ever so good at charging pacers.

Looks like England has the weakest bowling line up in this tournament.
Bangladesh can easily score 100 in next 10 overs

Umar Akmal should watch mush's batting and should also learn

Don't think he is smart enough or brave enough , but by batting lower than 5 he is hurting himself the most, and their will people asking for his head very soon. He should be the 1st person realize he is no prime Dhoni Aka the finisher.

Would be great if Bangladesh upset England, it's just what this tournament needs.

Or maybe Bangladesh is just good?

Bangladesh has 2nd best W/L ratio after Australia since Mashrafe took over. Including minnows tho.

But that would be with majority of the matches won being in BD right? I'm not sure BD has the bowling to stop England on these surfaces where the bounce is true.

These 8-10 run overs wont hurt England. Need a few 15-20 run overs.

Greed. :afridi
