Here comes another guy who is probably happy with this defeat. Why is it that you guys always shows up when India loses and never seen when we win? Then when we call deshdrohis people gets hurt.
 
What I rate about Ravi Shahstri is he always shows the same energy and keeps it professional whether or not India are winning or losing.

Something Sunil Gavasakar and Sanjray Manjrekar can learn from him.

This was India's WC to loose and they have bolted on the big day (still 11 to get). But, Aussies are worthy champs - lost two at the start and then beat both teams in KOs.

Considering the age of Indian stalwarts, and the WC being at home of tailor made wickets, don't think they'll get a better chance than this. India will always remain a force in ODI and a certain entity in SF, but next WC Kohli, Sharma, Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Jadeja and probably KL won't be in SAF - don't see them winning in 2027 or even 2031, this team had at least 4 players certain to make Indian all time ODI XI.
 
India need to start the rebuild after this WC.

They aren't winning anything with this lot. If they can't win at home with tailored pitches how are they going to win outside India.

How many times did he kill his team's momentum for personal milestones?
Why should it be up to lesser cricketers to take risks? He has scored soft runs throughout this World Cup. No impact whatsoever. India wouldn't be here without Rohit if we deep it.

Missed opportunity definitely.

I don't think they will get a similar chance before 2031 WC (co-host for 2031 WC along with Bangladesh).

I have a feeling India may not win any trophy till at least 2031.

Shiraj always bowled with new ball. But today he got the old and Shamim got the new. He is not accustomed.
 
India need not to be disheartened it’s a game and it takes two to play and sometimes someone else is just better on the day. Had a great tournament. It will hurt no doubt but dont let it get too deep, go again next CT.

Indian fans deny it but we all saw it.

What a selfish player he is. Even today he killed his teams momentum. Went from timing it well to looking to get a 50. Got out straight after it too.

Yeah this has been true the entire tournament. But we were not allowed to call it out because they were still managing to win. He played for personal accomplishments. This 100 by Travis Head is worth more than any of Kohli’s 100s as Travis Head actually managed to win a World Cup with his innings.
 
To my surprise, there was absolutely no impact from Indian bowling today. Aussies lost three wickets - first two were two of the worst balls in this innings and Aussies chose to throw bat at those, third one .... an elite ICC umpire can better explain how he could give that LBW, then how a player with 15 years experience didn't bother to review!!!!

240 wasn't match winning, but AFGs made 249 really tight for SAF and I believe this is a much drier, slower wicket - expected better contest.

Yeah he gets swing up front, I’ll give credit for that. But he doesn’t have the overall skills to bowl with an older ball.

Ashwin would have strengthen their batting and Siraj has been getting smashed by everyone.

For me this is one of the better world cups in recent years. The four best teams reached the quarter finals and the two best ones played the final. No NRR nonsense allowing weak teams into where they don't belong, and no tie or fluke results based on boundary count like the last world cup. A good , well deserved victory based purely on performance, just as it should be.

Congratulations to India too. They have played like champions, and don't need to feel any less.

They chucked out Aaron Finch when they knew he was finished as a cricketer, no room for sentiments despite winning T20 world cup. They replaced him with Travis Head.

Yeah that Travis Head WTC innings was unbelievable. 163 off 174 - basically sealed the Test match the first day. Travis Head will have won more for his team this year than Kohli did in his entire career.

Kohli is good for bilateral series. Can’t believe anyone could ever compare him to the great Vivian Richards.

I remember they dropped Steve Waugh from ODI after just 1 bad series (tri-series involving SA, AUS, and NZ).

This ruthlessness is missing from Asian cricket boards.
