Thing in favour of India

1) Slow wicket
2) ball is not coming on to bat
3) ball turning
4) Indian pacers under lights are lethal

Had we scored 30 runs more during that period, things would have been better
Yeah to be honest seems like it was Rahul’s job to keep the run rate higher since Kohli has been playing the anchor role the whole tournament. But you can’t have both players playing slow for such a long period of time in such an important game. Especially against a team like Australia - they will keep tightening things more and more until the wicket falls.

Imo, only Gill played a really silly shot. Rest tried to play their roles. Shreyas got a great ball.

Aussies have just outplayed India so far. In both bowling and fielding. You have to give it to them.

The first thing India need to do now is bat all 50 overs. Give their bowlers a chance.
a very fair take and accurate assessment....the pitch is not easy...and if our guys guts it out...we have the attack that can give a tough time to the opposition...

50 off 86 balls. Bravo. Wow. What an innings in a WC final. He is standing between Australia and their WC

Reverse swing showing up now. It’s all up to these two guys and SKY. Starc with the ball reversing will absolutely run through the tail.

These guys are experienced international. They can read the pitch, match situation. If it required to play more aggressive they would have.

Still think 250 is a match winning total on this surface against a high quality attack
Knowing how 'well' we have played knock out games during last 10 years, yeah they do know how to play in such periods. Lol

The issue for India here is that on a slow pitch, you can very easily get out trying to hit it big. That slow play with Kohli and Rahul might really come back of haunt them.

Honestly Kohli kept up with the strike rate - Rahul was the one who went into ultra slow mode.

Beautiful bowling. Ball is reversing. First was just wider and this one was perfect. Great control

One more wicket needed and then the risk will be stuck facing Starc and Hazlewood with the ball reversing.

SKY and Rahul. That's what Indian hopes rely on. Who knew? Ball is reversing and they need 100 runs in 14 overs. They will be legends if they do it. But are they legendary material?

Kohli has had a very well paced inning, just gave away his wicket at a very wrong/crucial stage
Kohli was 23(20) in the power play and then in then in the next 43 balls he only scored 31 runs. I suppose they could have made it up later, but both of them playing slow was what doomed the middle overs for sure.

What a poor batsman Rahul is! This debacle is entirely on him. He has gotten the team into hole along with him

Kohli's inning on this pitch and with 2 back to back wickets was not slow by any means. It is Rahul who is batting like a 1980 batter.

Strange promotion of Jadeja. Would've thought he was to inject some acceleration into the innings, and provide a right-left combination, but ended up playing a nothing innings.

The future of Indian cricket in a critical situation. Cant rely on king kohli and Rohit always.

If they step up in a crunch situation then this will give them the platform for great careers

Why are umpire checking wdge for stumping appeal? Australia trying same strategy they used in test series .
Everything gets checked on all reviews now from no ball to ball tracking if needed whether it is a player review or the umpire review. Indian need to stay updated with the rules too. Maybe they went back to 1980 after seeing the batting display of KL Rahul.

Kohli was batting beautifully but Rahul inning suck all the momentum and gave chance for total domination to Australia .he can olay counter innings

If India end up in projected and Warner has his day then it could be bottles and tops thrown

Was in my early teens 2003 cwc final which was such wn one sided. Plz dont make this another one sided between the two again..

Really wanted to see a high-ish scoring final ..

These two are still capable of putting together a good finish. Maybe wait things out for the next 5 overs or so.

Crowd need to chant and cheer them on they gone too quiet. Need to ease the tension by cheering louder especially when your team on the backfoot.

No boundary scored for 12 overs.

Lol, is this really a WC final that's being played here?

India need not to panic. These two need to bat sensibly, take it past 46th over. Keep rr above 5. Is it so difficult to get 5 runs an over maybe odd boundary here and there for the next 7-8overs?

It will be walk in the park for Aussies.

Btw people who were saying just give trophy to India since it's a rigged WC, are they enjoying the game or hiding faces?

Too many heartbroken as an Indian fan. Cricket won't be same for me after today defeat
Match isn't over until the winning round was scored. Trust the Indian bowling lineup. They will give a tough fight. India has to take wickets before dew sets in. India can still lose but the game won't be one sided if these two can score 270

It's a stupid crowd. Only wants to celebrate successful moments, no idea how to raise the team for the occassion
