Australia are in trouble here.

Excellent fightback by India in this Test.

Barring something extraordinary, India should win comfortably.

India to secure a historic win today. Excellent cricket by India. On the other hand Aussie batting has been extremely poor, yet to cross 200 in the series, won't cross 200 in this innings as well.

Well unless India do a Pakistan at Sydney in 2010, this match is done and dusted.

Aus probably have the 2nd best tail in tests after England. If they can get 250 then they’ll be favourites.

How would have thought that India's bowling would badly embarrass Pakistan in Australia

I am at the MCG watching the match live in corporate box. And let me tell you the Indian bowlers looking absolutely toothless here. Australian kids at the crease look SET....indians in trouble

150 lead will give something to bowl.

Cam Green is the real deal. Bowled well. Playing a very good knock now. Future right handed Ben stokes for Australia

Seems an average attempt to replace Marsh.

Well. He is playing one of the most challenging innings of his career at the age of 21. Let’s see if he can produce something that will be sufficient for the Aussies

150 lead mean Australia win by 20-30runs .max India can chase 80 runs

It's a very good pitch right now. 100 runs lead will be too less, 150 does not mean that India can not chase, but it will give Aus hope.

Aus needs to see off Bumrah here, then score some runs. India will hardly bowling poor balls, so just waiting won't add runs.

Umesh is better against tailenders , wonder if Jaddu should come in.

Yeah, he's played well today. But not convinced about the hype, just like it was when Mitch Marsh was around. Hope Green's career lasts long enough until Aus tours India. Would love to see those long arms dancing to Ashwin-Jadeja on Indian tracks :rabada2

Green will get out in the next half an hour. Bumrah and Ashwin to wrap up the tail. Lead to be 50-80, India to chase it down within a session.

Rahane depends on Ash so much. Always makes him bowl. Don't know why giving Ash the new bowl.

-Not a bad effort for a toothless India C team which is playing 10 against 11, eh m8?:irfan

India has been producing pretty good pacers. Ishant, Shami, Yadav out, and still this newbie is bowling with control. I thought Aus can negate Bumrah and score runs, but there are no easy runs.

If Australia sneak to 125 somehow I would be worried if I were an Indian fan

How did Green play? Just started watching

How did India lost the review? And how did it's is not out from umpire while checking the LBW decision. Strange.

Doubt Aus will get 100 lead now which might have given them a chance. This Aus batting lineup is poos, they definitely missing Warner.

Let’s wrap up final wicket boys and get the win. It will be much needed victory(hopefully no funny business) after Adelaide debacle.

It’s the same batting line-up( minus Warner) that were hammering other teams at home. Current Indian team is bowling at Australia with plan. Even Ponting was mentioning that Indian bowlers are not giving any freebies which is making batsmen to take risk which at times causing their downfall. I would say credit should be given to bowlers for exploiting their weaknesses.

True, this new Siraj dude is pretty good too.

Indians have not given poor balls to score easily. Runs have been hard to come by and Aus has been mostly waiting for poor balls.

Quite frankly I’m really surprised to see him bowled this well. I saw him in IPL and was borderline average but in test he have surprised me( I’m sure many others).

This is how you bowl in any conditions let alone Australia. In comparison Pakistani bowlers just turn up to the field leaving everything to the almighty with zero planning

He was never an LOI bowler but always bowled well on A tours with red ball.

Precisely. As per Ponting, batsmen were just waiting and waiting for the bad balls to come but it weren’t coming which made them frustrated. They even had to change their batting strategy as India were bowling at stumps(not giving anything outside off).

How do you see this new Siraj guy?

Full of josh in his first game, but not convinced about his future.

Done great, this game though.

He has bowled well on debut, but it's early days. After 5-6 tests, you can see how the bowler is going ..

We were exactly that not so long ago but it had change under Kohli’s leadership.

Pakistan is facing the same issues as we did under Dhoni, poor management. Bowlers need encouragement and proper coaching on areas to target the batsmen. Quite frankly Pakistani bowlers are bowling without plan and direction which is why they are struggling. PCB need to recruit a coach who understands bowlers and work on their weakness. W Younis is not the guy for this job.

Yes but you also have to consider in circumstances in which he was drafted in playing XI. Team lost first test match in most horrifying way one could possibly imagine plus not to mention covid and bio-bubble. It’s not easy to straight up start performing that too in Australia which is nightmare for Sub continent bowlers. Overall, I’m impressed but as you pointed out early days and need to reserve judgment after perhaps 10-12 tests.

There you go again - Aussie umpires in play. Any runs from here on is all due to umpires.

This umpire's call makes it hard sometimes.

The Aussie umpiring has been bad when it has been bad for both teams.

On field umpires have just not been giving anything at all. Watch that to be reversed when India comes out to bat. They always do it when it matters most and provide their team enough chances to win.

Well done Ashwin, nothing that umpires can do on that one. Now let's watch if umpire's aversion to give any lbw on the field in the last 100 overs continues. I bet that would change the moment India comes out to bat.

India should let Pant open and ask him to go for his shots. It would add some spice.

The umpiring in this match has been disappointing.
Almost all close calls were in favour of Aus.

Always happens when they are pushed to a corner. You almost have to get them out twice. #homeadvantage
