What would Root need to score and get out to get his batting average up to 50?

Kuldeep took 5 in first innings and was most threatening bowler. Jadeja doesn’t even look threatening at all. But Bumrah can’t even see these little stuff.

I worry that when Rohit goes, there will not any good captain. Both Bumrah and KL have been useless as captains. Not sure if Oabt would be given a chance to be captain in tests.
 
India generally dominate during group stages, JAMODIs, and Tests like this one. So, not surprised at the domination.

During knockouts, they become like cats. They need to work on that.
 
Also Ashwin and Jadeja are on the wane if you see the series. Need to start nurturing couple of good finger spinners.

Stokes has been a passenger the whole series. Not done much except doing funky field placements for the sake of it.
 
Lol at Stokes. A total liability for his team in this series and no amount of false praise will exonerate him off his dire show, both as a player and as a leader on this tour.
 
Looks like the Bazball leader, Stokes came on field just to inform Root that the evening flights are booked and he has to hurry up. Poor Stokesy couldn't wait till lunch to go back to the dressing room.

An embarassing tour from Stokes ends with all the drama and hype got burst as he failed to play any knock of substance. He got 10 chances and has come out officially as the worst batter in this series from both sides.

England successfully chased down 378 to claim victory in that match.
 
Stokes averaged 19 in this series with bat. I don't think he can hold his spot as batsman with this kind of batting.

Bumrah was the captain i think he was also the captain in wtc final
 
Indian selection and management are highly reactive systems. They just don't have any gene to think proactively

No, he is playing in the team as a "revolutionary" specialist captain. A Morgan like character because he won a series in Pakistan by doing nothing of note with bat there also.
 
This series has exposed England team. Usually teams do better as the series progresses, but they have regressed badly.

He is going to sing the same tune with that 10 year window forgetting the fact india has won all the tournaments that is available. He also would indicate it is so easy to dominate league stage lol RIght now that is the only one thing he has to troll India. Once India does that he will have to search for new excuses.

All tests are important, especially now because of WTC system. Even before, tests had maximum importance, even dead rubbers. This is where legacies are made, can't compare this wonderful format with JAMODIs.
 
Why does Johnny B Badd constantly get into issues with the keeper and slip cordon? This time with Jurel, Shubman, and Sarfaraz.

Hes too easy to rile up.

In the Caribbean , Joshua Da Silva scored a ton and then when Johnny was batting easily goaded him into playing a stupid shot and England lost the series.

Indian close in fielders have upped their chirping whenever he has come to the crease and it has worked every time

This England team can beat any other team and win the series but not India and Australia. sri lanka and west indies to play against England I am pretty sure bazball will run through them

There is a lot of poor reading of dismissals that goes on. The batting error is relevant, but bowlers don’t get nearly enough credit for the way they get into their heads over the course of a series and set them up at the crease.

This isn't a difficult pitch to bat on, with proper application a batting side could have scored 400 here. England have mentally checked out, only Root showing fight.
