India reach 21/0 at stumps after bowling England out for 183 on Day 1 of the 1st Test

Curran being the scurge of India again at moment.

Lol, Woakes isn't even a regular member of the team he is usually replaced by an extra batsman or Broad. Just look at the last few tests in English conditions.

Apart from Root their batting line up is pretty weak with new players who are struggling to establish themselves. or whiteball players who once in a while produce 1 decent test knock (bairstow, Buttler)
 
Thank god IPL got cancelled and Bumrah remained injury free. This is what I was saying when I wanted him to skip IPL before important tours. :inti
 
15-20 overs for india to get through with limited damage tonight. kohli should be happy with his bowlers.
 
Indian batsmen will be clueless against Anderson and Broad in these conditions.
 
Now the real issue begins. Batting on these conditions against Anderson/Broad on the fag end of the day will be real test for Indians.
 
Ever since England went away from Stokes, Bairstow and Ali at 6, 7 and 8 their batting has never looked the same.
 
Indian batsmen will find it equally difficult here against Anderson and Broad. So let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Bairstow is a mediocre test batsmen, he had 1 good year averaging 50 otherwise hes just a hack, his lack of technic is exposed in tests. playing on roads with white ball is his game.
 
Interestingly, not a single England batsman was dismissed off a slip catch in England's innings.

Indian batting is more solid if you compare with England , this was at least a 250 surface

For me he is a good 7, because he played the way WK should play and that is to put pressure on the bowlers. Buttler was saved by the 100 against us at the Rose bowl, most of the time he looks confused as how to play
 
Anderson and Broad are getting the ball to swing. Indian batsmen need to be spot on with their judgement.
 
DK is too generous in praise. Let the Indian batters get to 30-40 before saying they're looking comfortable.

183 is England's second lowest total at home in match's first innings against a subcontinent team after winning the toss and batting first.

The lowest still remains 136 vs Imran-led Pakistan at Leeds in 1987. Pakistan went on to win that Test by an innings.

Indian batting lineup is way better than England's. Their top 3 and Dan Lawrance shouldn't be playing in a same test match.

Indian bowling is slick, although not sure as to why they dropped Ishant.
 
The Indian openers have survived the first 10 overs. They have put only 20 on the board so far.
 
Rahul is vulnerable vs Sam Curran. Probably Rohit also but let's see. England might have missed the trick. They should have given new bowl to Anderson and Curran.

England are so bad, even Naseem Shah took a few wickets and averaged 50. If their batting was decent, he should be averaging 70+ each tour.
 
Bowlers have done their job, like they have been doing for the last few years in SENA conditions.
Hopefully batsmen don't let them down like they have been doing in last few years.
 
The laacker of the new cherry will start coming off in the morning session, then you will see the Indian flat track bullies badly exposed again. However I've been impressed by India's medium fast seamers.

Indias day, no rush for them to bad stupidly from here. Just keep out the good balls and runs will come and india should look to get a big 1st inns lead and bat all of day 2 and part of day 3 from here.
 
When stumps taken still 10 over remaining .also sun is out so why not they completed 90 over knowing rain will come in next 4 days . pathetic rules
