Hate this umpire's call thing

Mike and Ian Botham (I believe) are arguing with later saying Umpires Call should not take away a review since its a good review. Mike saying its there to prevent howlers so it should stay as is.
I think Botham option is better, 2 reviews can't loose them on umpires call. Umpires call is when the DRS isnt 100% sure. So why should they loose a review?
I agree with them.
Also, 2 reviews are too little for 80 overs.
Yes. Loved it. Root, Ali, Bairstow and Stokes are the tough nuts to crack tomorrow.
8 wickets or 315 runs on day 5![]()
Good end to the day's play, but those last 4 deliveries should have gone through.
Cook and Hameed did very well with their efforts.
Draw not in the offing it seems.
And yes.. to hell with the umpire's call.. and even more so to losing a review due to that!
Jaddu I love you man.
I love you.
BOOOOM.
Cook gone.
Jaddu deserved his wicket.
The draw goes with Cook. I'd like to ask you in good faith forgetting Rahul for the moment, what happened to Rahane? He looks out of sorts against spin.

Dude....don't worry man. Ask me about Rahul too. I am always open for a good genuine discussion.
Yes, he has played badly and there are no excuses for his poor performances here. He can play good bowling (dunno about his ability against quality spin though) but either is too nervous (not in this series) or too reckless. Will take a while to get into his zone. Watching him gives me hope compared to some of the other openers. If he fails big time, he will be sent to domestic cricket and Mukund drafted in. Dhawan is just too shaky against quality bowling.
Rahane was always like that against spin. Sad part is that these aren't some great spin tracks either. A bit out of form and obviously he has a weakness against spin. I have been talking about that for like 2 years now.
Just have to hope he gets better.
Because the RR was low two wickets look good at end of the day, still a huge task.
In related news, Dhawan is fit again. Not sure the selectors are going to overlook Dhawan in favour of Mukund( whoever he is).
The opposite can be said too. If they had showed intent, they may have lost an extra wicket or two.
You never know.
But yeah 87/2 looks way better than 167/2.
True also its still a huge task for India to get them all out considering pitch isn't doing but glad Cook is out.
That they won't do.
Talking about ideal scenario.
On a related topic, do you like Dhawan's batting in tests?
As a Pakistan fan, definitely. He is a decent player though. I do't get why you rate Rahul when he struggles so badly at home.
Am I the only one who thinks this is going to be a draw?
Indian bowling cannot get England out in 1 day. We let a newbie stick around for 144 deliveries.
The pitch is still flat and the turn is very slow. Ample time to adjust. The only way batsmen get out is if the ball keeps very low all of a sudden or batsmen play aggressive and tries to hit it in the air like how Indian batsmen did.
If you simply bat out time wihtout scoring then it's doable because pitch is hardly turning even now.
Indian fast bowlers need to exploit the conditions. As we saw when Broad was bowling, the variable bounce will lead to a lot of unplayable balls if you put it in the right area.
If Root sticks around until lunch, and then at worst we have Stokes and Bairstow batting at tea, I think it's doable. India massive favourites though, particularly after sneaking out Cook right at the end (who played superbly yet again).
We may miss Woakes in this rearguard though. He is a good batsman. I think he will replace Ansari in the 3rd Test - Rashid, Moeen, and the very occasional support from Root seems like enough spin in these conditions for us: we have always produced much better seamers than spinners, so we should play to that strength.
So yes I'm slightly hopeful of a draw, but it's a huge ask particularly after being so badly outplayed for the first 3 days.
Yah, they need to simply keep bowling off stump, 4th stup line without giving lose balls. If you bowl that then wickets will come sooner or later.
I am really impressed with this Eng team, They screwed up in first innings and even if they lose this test, I think they can still win the series....
They should drop Duckett and Ansari though....
Agreed about England.
Buttler for Ansari is a no brainer imo.
England needs to be tested on rank turners like Nagpur or Dhaka though.
Rashid n Moeen will test India more....
Their performance at Dhaka suggest otherwise.
Cos conditions never remain the same.
SA did a blockathon in Delhi and ended day 4 with 2 wickets.
If pitch dies or conditions don't change at all, then a superhuman effort by Eng would save the test.
I did not watch that but Rashid probably has been the best spinner in these two tests..... and rank turner will help Ali.....
Eng bat deeper than India and hence might be better off relatively on a rank turner, especially if they win the toss
First session will be easier to bat due to heavy roller. Pitch should do some tricks in the next two sessions.
