I think the ceremony did the face saving for CAB because people will think match was shortened and delayed because of it otherwise the real reason of delay was incompetence of CAB ground staff they are still working and ground isn't ready.

Yar I have a feeling both the teams don't want to play today, therefore everyone is taking their own sweet time about it There should be a set precedent about all of this and stuff like presentation ceremonies and other events should be cancelled if there is a natural interruption due to rain etc etc.

No individual is bigger than the game and showering these ex-legends with love and other pleasantries serve no purpose whatsoever - whomsoever came up with this idea has quite one big ego tbh.

You CANNOT have the toss till the last cover is removed and ground is ready. Captains are allowed to change their mind after seeing the actual pitch and ground condition. A captain might have wanted to bowl first but maybe he sees that ground looks ok even after rain and might want to bat first. Also no of over match also matters as more reduced a match, the better it is to bowl first

The ground has to be clear of covers for the toss to take place and then there must be a minimum of 15 mins from then until the game starts. Knowing the regulations better than you does not make us brainless.
