agree.I dont see how some people can hate him as much as they do.Hes just so good to watch

I don't think people hate Tendulkar so much as they hate the overtop adulation he recieves from some.

Could watch Lara and Sachin bat all day in Tests. I can't say that about any one else I have seen. Except for maybe Clarke atm. End of an era.

Their is nothing over the the top when its come to Tendulkar... But you wont understand that. You got to pick up his innings in 90s and how our rest of team used to perform at the time to understand Indian psyche

hes been called names and abused more times than even a mediocre cricketer deserves.Dont think its got anythng to do with how hes praised

not again please...lets leave the poor man alone...had enough criticism

:4

BUT this Henriques looks just the kind of bowler that usually gets Tendulkar in trouble. Lack of pace, neither pacer nor spinner. :sachin

Problem with Kohli is he doesnt know that it is test cricket. He will try to score on every opportunity and will throw away some soft dissmissal.

Yeah mentally he's not there yet but it's still early days for him. Way too talented not to flourish in Tests as well.

What a gun bowler. 'Short bursts is a stupid tactic' lol and he has taken 3 top order wickets.

He is really something if he can stay fit. Anyone on PP want to call him overrated now? First time in India, bowling on a moon pitch and he has 123 out.

Alert: South Africa all out. Change your channels to watch some sweet chin music by Steyn and co!

Ponting, Amla and KP?

I enjoy watching those guys bat too but it's just not the same. Hard to explain lol. Have you seen slow motion footage of Sachin batting? Wow gives me goosebumps :))

Sehwag and Vijay.... Getting Pujara out is an accomplishment to be proud of though

Also Pietersen and Yousuf for me.

But to be fair to you I don't see any players in their early 20s coming through of a similar ilk. Disappointing.

Ponting, Amla and KP?

I would put Ponting, KP, Anwar up there as well but just below Tendu/Lara. Those were not just extremely classy but had this divine aura which no one else had.

I don't think any informed fans underestimate how good some of the Aussie bowlers are. The reasons England fans think we'll beat you are because Hussey retired and because your guys are always getting injured. Nothing to do with a decline in raw quality.

I liked to watch Dravid and Ponting over lara and Sachin. May be I am getting older as newbies dont excite me no more.

Whatever mate. Everyone is no good according to you go watch rugby or the Hobbit. Leave the cricket for people who like cricket.

no need. We can do with some good players who actually have some technique

You mean players like Sir Jadeja? Or Murali Vijay? or bowlers like Bhajji who has done nothing in recent past except participating in a dance show, host a wrestling show, record a song etc.

Or perhaps play a bowler like B Kumar on a flat/dry surface, who bowls at 130's and whose main weapon is swing, over your best spinner Ojha, who has been the lone warrior for India in the past?

I am sorry but technique can do a zilch if your leader/management acts like politician, and players are selected based on everything but merit.

I have been critical of Ganguly as a player. But admired his leadership, which is so very important in today's age.

But again, each to his own.

Sorry I wasnt referring to England fans. I don't think any English fans underrate our quicks, and I don't think any rate our batters :))

We won't lose the next Ashes due to our bowlers anyway.

Yeah that's why I say it will be a very sad day. The last of the Mohicans :sachin

 I wish for good players because we don't have any right now..

^ Actually In his early career, Dada wasnt that bad against short ball too... It was later that he failed to work on it. So wont say technique wise he was that poor. Probably lazier among the lot (Sachin,Dravid,Dada)

Watson not gonna bowl,he gets good reverse swing

He's given up bowling for the time being due to injury concerns I think. Would have been very handy on this surface I reckon.

7000 test runs at Home now for Sachin.

Just for the haters, he's scored more away and at a better average probably.

So far, our gambles in picking Moises and a bunch of quicks have paid off. Long way to go yet but we are well ahead of expectations.

Tendulkar is Tendulkar, he is superman against us so not much we can do.

Clarke bowls Sachin first ball LOL he was not ready though :))

Kohli looks set for a big one. Seems to be in the zone today.

The pitch looks very scary, we really will have to play very very well to survive. :(

The ball is reversing a fair bit it looks like.

At 40 Tendu is still one of our best players. Hats off. Hopefully he will take this form into the series and when we tour abroad.

3500 test runs against Australia now for Sachin, second only to Jack Jobbs who has 3600+.

Order of Australia! :sachin

I think this series will be his last one, unless he wants one more go at the SAs.

India has a few Pujara's and a few decent bowlers under domestic circuit. The problem is that they'll never make it to the national stage, because there's a pool of certain player's who are in the reckoning most of the time, irrespective of their performance.

What's dodgy is that a chunk of that pool is friend's with the Captain.

Pujara is a player I see him being the best batsmen in the world in a few years, he seems to be a good thinker I can see him thriving with the responsibility of captaincy.

Starc needs to bowl a few more of his deadly yorkers.

Pujara is not what he's hyped up to be actually, on Indian tracks many of our domestic bullies will impress you on certain days. Dont see him doing great outside India.

Would be interesting to see him play in SA, he's one batsmen I think will be able to handle Steyn and Philander.

Has he been getting some good bounce? A short ball barrage wouldn't be a bad idea if he is

Hardly any bounce to trouble the batsmen as you would expect on this type of a wicket. Maybe he should have a go at bowling a few overs of spin lol.

Another 4 for Kohli. Very useful runs these and he's taking maximum strike in last few overs.

Pujara is already rated too highly for my liking, along with Kohli. Captaincy will be like taking it too far.

Nepotism is so rife at the moment that I am afraid this team will sink to new lows. Lows that can only be matched with the Indian team of the 90's.

Looks like playing 4 seamers is backfiring, England did the same and lost the first game. Maybe throw the ball to Warner?

Can't compare the class of Swann and Monty with Lyon and Doherty(?)
