It is not a bad session either. India are batting first , so India have that advantage.

Also still lots of batting to come. India will bat out Eng here, max Eng can do is draw.

It's not a bad session for England either. It's only been the first session and Monty and Swann are bowling well, how do you write England off for a draw already?
 
Lunch and tea sessions will be the most batting friendly. England should try to keep runs down and wickets will come from under pressure batsmen.

Wicket looking slow, England need to step up a notch to bowl out India here.

Unfortunately, none of the remaining batsmen are in form.

Gambhir - he can get out to Swann, and will, anytime.

Tendulkar - He may get a few but there just doesnt seem to be any more big ones in his kitty remaining. He just doesnt look solid anymore.

Kohli - Going by the few tests he has played, he will start well looking good, then get tied down, and get out playing a shot.

Yuvraj - Can someone hypnotize him into thinking this is a ODI please.

Dhoni - I just cant express how dissappointed I am in his batting. Couple of years back he had some real fight and grit. Now the fight seems to lie only in his tongue.

Ashwin - You can expect, and will most likely get a quick 30-40 from him.

No one else. So, I guess we do have some valid concerns.

This is a serious zzzzzzzzzzzzzz fest.

Indian batters are playing as if it is very difficult out there.

Seriously, all these Indian batters are playing for their places. They are scared to play any shots.

Absolutely spot on. No one in our current middle n lower order give any sort of confidence ATM (barring few valuable runs from the bat of Ashwin)
 
@James - I hope You do know that Justcrazy is a Pak supporter, who happens to be very much involved in almost all the commentary threads herein PP. BTW, some PPers(not me, though) do call him a jinxer from time to time when he hypes up Indian batter/bowler.

On Topic - I feel Ashwin should come ahead of Yuvi and MSD today

Really surprised they dropped Harbeh, he usually gets wickets at Eden. Should have been Ashwin.

Harby didnt deserve a place as a bowler, and neither does Ashwin.

I think his batting may have clinched the deal.
 
Old story again. Letting the bowlers have maidens, which allows Cook to bring in the fielders, which results in wickets.

India is playing more like England used to play spinners. Didnt they learn anything from how KP, Cook and Prior bat. Looks like a "theory" is getting in the way of "reality".

brother this is test match , 5 days to play. Why play a bad shot and get out here. There is lot of time in this match.

You sit there and preach to others about there being '5 days to play' after such posts as 'Finn selection is wrong after 3 overs (despite Broad not taking a single wicket for 2 Tests)', 'If England don't take early wickets they are out of the game', 'Best England can hope for is a draw (after 1 session where they took 2 wickets)'.

Post what you like in a Pak thread but your posts are generally absolute drivel, this is our match thread and you are crapping all over it. If you are unable to form a decent opinion then keep your nose out.

I said finn is hyped here in sub continent ....... he is suited for Aus / SA pitches.

This greatest ever batsman Virat Kohli isnt impressing anyone these days.

Poor, defensive batting from India, but we will see if it proves effective.
 
Just came back to see Gambhir's dismissal. Despite the 50, what a bad shot- abey yeh Gauti se Pauti ban gaya. :(
 
good cricket all over ...superb bowling from Anderson while some good shots from sachin
 
Cant help but think all the talk of pitches and umpiring and yakking in the media has messed with India's focus for this series.
 
India's Test batting is a joke these days.

This is a dead pitch ful lof runs and yet Indian batters are struggling. Bowling is not threatening too.

Indian Test batsmen have been bullied badly in the past 2yrs by almost every team.

Panesar is bowling beautifully and it's reversing for the seamers. If there was ever a time to rest Swann it is now. He will be back on soon IMO particularly if the YUVI comes out #lefthander

I think pitch has some good bounce...so.its not complete batting paradise as some posters are claiming
