Congratulations India, you've gotten our best batsman twice off bad decisions.

So our captain gets sawn off in both innings of a Test match by the same umpire. Grounds for a formal complaint at the very least, but I'm sure the Indian fans will say we are sooking or something.

Hope Dhoni tips Dharmasena for this match.

I loathe Star, "I can't tell from here if it was bad" all the while ushering Collingwood out of the box for an English view

Ashwin to Cook, OUT, makes him play this time, big appeal for caught behind and given out the finger goes up straight away but the immediate replay suggests Cook may be unlucky again. He was drawn forward just outside off stump, there was a little turn that look it away from Cook, there was a sound which drew the appeal, it was a straightforward take for Dhoni and the umpire nodded and raised his finger instantly. In fact the replay suggests that Cook missed it by a long distance, another very poor decision from Dharmasena

was a marginal decision, wouldnt hv been overturned imo

? Hotspot. Would have been overturned.

There was another angle with clearly no edge. But feel free to ignore it so you can stay with the party line

oh Hotspot is there?not here in India.then it would hv I guess

So.. Dharmasena is intentionally screwing England now? oh wait.. it only happens with Aleem Dar vs India.

There was a pretty large gap between ball and bat.

I think it would have been overturned even without the hotspot technology.

Just a poor decision. Shocker.

Dharmasena is just a horrible umpire, not biased, gave decisions against India many times

no was very close to shoulder of the bat

Oh man, even Saurav getting delusional now. They just showed an angle on the diagonal that conclusively proved it was a shot against thin air. Please stop being an apologist in this way, it's embarrassing.

Nah, all the Indians are selectively blind when the correct angle is shown, "marginal".

arey telecast must be different here.looked close first up wen I posted that.now yes it was a poor decision

If Cook's 1st innings dismissal was bad, this was one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while.

yeah just saw that.showed other angle before where it looked closer

yeah it was poor.sad is all I can say.dont think hes biased.just horrible.dunno which idiot gave him the award

Anyway. At 65/1 England are doing alright to be honest. No alarms yet.

Cook robbed again.

Anyway he played 31 overs with Compton. Another 40 overs between Compton, Trott and KP will make it one hand on the trophy for England.

Spinners in particular. Fat lards that don't have run-ups or physical exertion

Agreed, spinners usually carry love handles around with them.

Swann is unusually lean for a spinner.

Yup I don't think umpires are biased these days. There'll be some poor decisions in every match but when it goes against one team that's when people start these BS.

I also think having DRS is every alternate series makes ump give decisions neglecting "benefit of the doubt to batsman"

If they are really biased then Aleem and Dharmasena would've been an epic combo in India vs England series. 😜

I respect spinners for their skills, but Fast bowlers are more impressive to me. They are basically killing their bodies for love of the sport, spinners just twirl things. Good ones are clever, but few spinners need athleticism.

"I'm a big fan of Cook, and I don't think he hit that one, but I think England have been a bit paranoid today."

Two bad decisions in a row ( for the best batsman of the side) does not add up. It may not be a "bad decision" after all.

Cooky, go on, discuss strong bowling strategies with Saker man! Never know what may happen :jf

Trott survives off a terrible call? Give us another one of those Dharmasena. Trott wouldn't even be out there otherwise.

Dharma is awful

So England playing slow mean they deserve to lose false wickets? Marks is a spineless old fool.

Interesting isn't it.

Two Cook stinkers are worth four of anyone else.

I'll feel no shame if we get a few reprieves today.

Cricinfo suggests it wasn't out..

Jadeja to Trott, no run, big lbw shout, was it bat or pad first though? Probably pad but it may still have been sliding past leg stump

did Trott just got saved by Dharmasena?:13:

That ball was sliding down the leg side. 2 stumps were visible clearly.

Watching the match listening to the commies were two different things altogether.

Trottsky legend. Would have been such a 'Bad luck Brian' moment if he did not connect that one :)))

Why was that no balled, what is the rule?

I think it was disgraceful from Trott. Selfish man!

come on dharmasena india need wickets

next years umpire of the year award is waiting for you :msd

no wadnt sliding past leg, hitting leg maybe

Perfect for the team, free 4 runs, Jadeja messed up, no worse than Harmison's wide to first slip.

I am supporting team England as much as anyone and know every run is important but still that was disgraceful from Trott.

TMS: A pleasure to hear Boycott praising England and firing down Agnew's usual boorish pessimism.

Do you refuse to take free hits in ODIs?

That's basically the same. A free hit

I can come with reasons for pessimism.

Our bowlers apart from Jimmy were a waste of space in the second innings.
