Now what do you think will happen on Friday

Always maintained that we will not beat India in a WC match.
 
I never expected us to win on friday even after that chase against NZL :)

I have no hopes for friday match but still have some expectations that we will quialfy for semifinals
 
I'll take that warm up match, esp for the first match against india.

we tend to do better after such matches.
 
The Indians Batsmen seem to be in good form.

Could go very bad or very well for Pakistan.

Depends if the irresponsible trio of experienced hacks perform or not.(Kamran,Afridi,Malik)
 
We seem to melt like wax under pressure,

And worse thing is we seem to go to block mode
 
I blame the selections of kamran shoaib Malik and tanvir for our failures. They ruined the whole balance of the team that was created ever since the odi tournament we won in souht Africa. Pre that tournament we tried these same ttfs with the same results. And again here.
 
Like I said before India will win.

Pak have no chance even going to the semi finals.
 
I know it's only a warm up but that is not the right attitude to go about a game !

Absolutely shambolic !

If that's the way these guys are going to go about then expect a nice champions trophy like debacle !
 
They should try to bowl the like of Gul and Afridi in this match so that they might gain some rhythm ,
I was optimistic about Friday but after the first 2 warm up games iv given up,
 
I guess the question will be on Friday, how bad will India beat us, as over time i feel they are beating us as we are minnow's

And 2 chase's where almost down to 1-2 guys playing their best cricket and then we got over the line
 
Some people need to chill. Its a warmup FFS. We have done very well in warmups of WC2007 and CT2013 (both were against SA) and then flopped in the main tournament. We won 1 and lost 1 warmup in WC2011 and T20 WC2012. In the warmups lost our performances were really poor. Yet we made it to the semifinals in both tourneys. We lost a warmup to Zimbabwe in T20 WC2010 and still managed to reach the semi. We lost both warmups in 2009 WT20 yet we ended up as winners in the tournament.

My point being this match neans nothing. If anything it will serve as a wake up call.
Friday will be a new day and what happens then will depend on how we perform on that day and not on how we performed in the warmups.

Your point is true but the past is the past and we shouldn't be looking at that,
we have made the Semi's on almost all t20 wc's

I think that lucky run might be coming to a end
 
Said it before, too many bottlers in the line up, ought to have gone for a few fresh faces who carry no added baggage.
 
And at this present moment non of the bowlers look threatening and the batting well that's well known

Pakistan is still favourites to win against india I suppose and our wimning streak against them is going to be end on friday.sad but true.no excited at all regarding friday match.

Both teams will go in on even footing on Friday. InshAllah, we'll end up winning though.

The worst part was that there seemed to be no planning at all.

The team should have played with the first match in mind and should have tried to play as close as possible to the XI they have in mind for the first match.

But hey it wouldn't be Pakistan if all these things start happening!
 
i think pakistan does not generally lose on fridays. Can somebody post how many matches pakistan have played on friday and how many of them they have lost
 
Oh please I'm sick to death of people quoting this stupid myth. There are more lisls in Pakistan now. There were only more in India due to the separation of Bangladesh.
 
lol a religious debate now? Simple as, Cricket is nowhere near as important as the type of stuff your meant to pray for(i.e. your mother, children, forgiveness of sins)
And this is Pakistan playing on Friday, against their arch rivals, in a T20. All these what will happen nonsense is barely ever correct...People have suddenly forgot the Kohli factor post Asia Cup but he's still in dashing form, people forget that Bilawal Bhatti won a match on debut and all other stuff. What I'm trying to say is that anything will happen so just allow it and watch the game. Let it all be.
 
This is a jinx thread. India are going through a very bad phase and the streak is resting on thin ice guys. :( 8-1 its gonna be this friday it seems. :(
 
T/20 Cricket Match is a CRAP-SHOOT !!! It has American Baseball type mentality ... really !!! In Baseball ,one swing of the bat can change the outcome of the game. Similarly in a 20 over match one over can dictate the outcome. How many last ball thriller, or last over thriller we have seen !!! A good team can't always assert it self over a weaker team. So, with that in mind, what happens this Friday, is as good as guessing who will win TOSS !!! I hope we prevail since the law of averages is about to catch up with the Indians ... sure hope so.

As the title says, I want to have a verdict about both teams. Which team is stronger on paper? It doesn't matter which team wins the game eventually on Friday.

Watch Hafeez sort out Yuvi and ANY pak bowler whip Raina. Pakistani bowlers are a different kettle of fish compared to Chris Jordan and Dirtbag son.

This game will be decided on 2 factors:

Kohli and how Pak top order fares against Indian trundlers.

End of discussion.
 
India should crush Pakistan since they look in form with these warm-ups. Pakistan got thrashed by SA in warm-up. Even Bangladesh A put up a much much better fight against them yesterday :))

I don't read much into a warm up match considering they've been one of the worlds best in the format. I guess India should be judged in ODI's based on those losses to NZ and ranked below them based on a bad series.
 
Just another wc game against India. We already know the result so lets not get our hopes up
 
If they are hell bent on playing Malik then get him to open as he has failed in every other position. He got about 10 to 15 runs in the big bash opening, I'll take that for now!
 
I have said this before, and will say it again, one match, does not define a career, a career defines a player and a team.

Bangladesh were a poor team, are a poor team, and will remain a poor team for a foreseeable future. They can win a match against India and Pakistan here or there, but they will never be a team anyone fears.

India and Pakistan have bad stretches, but then come out and win these types of tournaments as they have before.
 
Pak india games are always nearly 50-50 chance
I dont buy in to the we will never win against them in a world cup match.
Its quite possible to lose 7 coin tosses in a row, on the roulette table black and reds come out many times in a row (once saw 20 reds in a row!) but its still 50-50 not enough sample size, so far India have been lucky with crucial descisions etc and what not, just suffering some weird variance against them at the moment in world cups, we will win and Inshallah it will be friday....records are there to be broken!!!!

Seriously though Im gonna back Pakistan for this one. All the pressure is on India due to their good win vs England in the warm up whereas Pakistan are seen as underdogs due to todays performance. Ajmal to take three wickets and Pakistan to scrape a win IMO.

Perfect lineup. Apart from Ajmal, everyone in this lineup can belt the ball.

The 4 overs that'll be shared between Tanvir and Bhatti will be potential weak links but the alternatives in Junaid and Talha are rubbish anyhow.

If they play our batting weakens further while the bowling doesn't improve.

Shoaib "steady" Malik will be up for it :rashid

I expect a straightforward victory. :hafeez

First time in honestly not getting my hopes up too high tbh...before the 2011 WC semi i was REEEALY up for it and REEEALY expecting from us...2012 T20 match i was still expecting somewhat...this time around...ive got a bad feeling we'll get a replay of the 2012 game if we bat first...a 'stuttery' innings ending in a below par total with india chasing it fairly comfortably...if we chase, we might scrape it but it'll be just that, a scrape, nothing remotely comfortable.

Not 'wrist-slitting' or anything like that...just using my head and not my heart

We've been cursed by some gandha dirty curse that we will never beat Ind in a WC game.

Ind look strong and have the momentum, Pakistan just suffered a demoralising collapse.

Advantage Ind.
 
Pakistan should NOT get bogged down by this loss, it was a warm up, yes they were bundled out for only a couple, but it's over and done, start fresh, as every Pak-India match is taken as a completely new encounter. I was reading the interview of Imran Khan in the other thread, and Pakistan should heed his advice and play fearlessly, none of that 6 over conservatism crap. As far as bowling is concerned, I think right now is the time to sit Tanvir and Talha out and bring in Junaid and Bhatti (who did bowl economically vs SA, granted SA didn't need to take risks to begin with). Bhatti has the pace to trouble their batsmen, and tbh Talha and Tanvir have been way too wayward in the warm ups, can't risk them in the big clash. Obviously the rest is Gul, Afridi, Ajmal, and Hafeez. Batting though, I'm not sure what the line-up should be 100%, though one thing is for sure, pretty much every follower of Pak cricket wants Shoaib "Auto Selection" Malik dropped from the t20 team. Did zilch in the warm ups, and did nothing recently to deserve his place. The dilemma is, without Malik, K. Akmal should move down to 6, though he has a poor history there, and performed as an OPENER. Furthermore, it would mean Sharjeel opens, who has also done nothing noteworthy. TBH, Sharjeel over Malik any day of the week, at least he has done SOMETHING substantial in the last 6 months (one inning of 50 off 25, nothing else, but still):

1. Ahmed Shehzad
2. Sharjeel Khan
3. Mohammad Hafeez
4. Sohaib Maqsood
5. Umar Akmal
6. Kamran Akmal
7. Shahid Afridi
8. Bilawal Bhatti
9. Umar Gul
10. Saeed Ajmal
11. Junaid Khan

Maqsood ahead of Akmal, because I feel Akmal takes too much pressure in Pak v Ind matches, and would be more beneficial for him to come towards the end if we're the ones setting the target.

Despite how bad we flopped vs SA I wish Pakistan the best, and Insh Allah we thrash India for the first time in a WC and go on to lift the trophy. Pakistan Zindabad

In the end a lot depends on the toss. India's batting is mighty strong and they're great chasers. IF only we win the toss then we'll have the advantage and the pitch will be easier to bat as well.
 
Neutral. Our bowlers neutralise India's strong batting line up and their bowling neutralises our batting.
 
when good hitters like brendon played pak bowlers all went for runs especially tanvir macgrath and when good bowlers good at them all of the batsmen **** in their pants.
