12 added so far, could be critical. I think, it's 51-49 IND now

SA would be better off playing the 2nd innings like an ODI. Make as much runs as possible before the balls gets old and the pitch turns into a minefield.

Just tuned in after lunch, that not out decision was atrocious and could've possibly given India the match.

yes, these 10 runs will win India the match and the 63 from AB won't help SA at all. A few close decisions can go wrong. As long as it is fairly even, not complaining

218 to win. Six batsmen, three spinners and game on hai!

If the openers can get that deficit to below 200, the pressure will be on India. Lets see if Kohli opens with Yadav or Varun.

He deserves to be sacked from captaincy if he opens with Aaron or Yadav.

Lot depends on top 3 actually -this is probably an equivalent of 180 at Sharjah for the lightning quick outfield. IND doesn't have the extra 50 runs - a quick fire 30-40 by opening pair 'll put IND on back foot. If SAF can start like English pair in Sharjah, probably they 'll win.

Should open with Yadav. Varun should not even be in the squad ;)

India does not need 2 pacers.

The 3 spinners are enough to get all 10 wickets of SA batsmen.

India should have played Rohit in place of Yadav or Aaron. Batting is again too thin with only 5 batsmen.

Hoping Amla bhai gets a big golden duck :amla

Match evenly poised a this stage. South Africa need Amla the most here. Only he can provide the calm amidst chaos..

This is a good tactics - Phillander might get 20-30 quick runs against spinners with new ball.

South Africa's think tank is probably the best one out of all 8 test nations. Sending Philander up there, good move, a risk worth taking.

So many wickets falling in just over 2 days. I think this match will go to the wire. But India would have done better with a 250 lead.

Sandeep, I certainly will. I've been very impressed by some of India's play these last couple of evenings.

It's a shame that there isn't going to be a Pakistan v India Test series this winter. They are quite well-matched, similar teams.

Always a pleasure to have you :)

Pak are a better Test team than India.

Once Misbah and Yunis are gone, both teams will be on par.

FAF needs to play a huge rearguard type of innings

Phliander move would have failed 80% of the time on this wicket, but a good experiment nevertheless.

Philander should've just gone smash from first ball any run he would've given to the team would've been seen as a bonus.

It saddens me, as an Australian resident, that India is now producing livelier, more interesting Test pitches than Australia.

Well done to them. This has been a brilliant game to watch each evening after I get home from the Gabba. Miles better than the garbage track in Brisbane.

SA should try to get this in 60 overs or so. If they block around here, they would probably lose.

Why is Amla all the way back at #4? He showed 1st innings he is the best player of spin on the team, so why hang around in the back? You're captain, take charge.

Why not open in tests too, or at least stay at the one down position..

tbh in 5 years in UAE not once have we had a pitch remotely close to this as far as spin assistance is concerned.

Just have a look at how it looks.

Would have been interesting see Ajmal 2012-13 on this. Would have wreaked all sorts of carnage

LOLOL

South Africa could be out before 100

This reminds me of India v Pakistan at Bangalore in 1986-87.

I love low-scoring Tests on dry turners! Just fantastic.

Whose had a worse test match

Du Plessis or Dhawan?

Ffs SA

Is graeme Smith in the commentary box
Pull him out bring him in for the next game

India should win this easily. I would be surprised if SA can win from here. You should be confident no matter what. Just can't send Philander to open, test cricket is not played like that.

Lots of complaints about the pitch but I'm sure many neutrals would rather be watching this than Oz Vs Nz

These low scoring matches have a charm of their own. I decided to take leave today afternoon to watch the match. :)

These tracks are not as bad as the ones India rolled out to England when they last toured. Cook, Pietersen were amazing in that series and showed great talent in playing the turning ball. India were humiliated by Panesar.

This track is not a 200 track like both teams showed so far. Its a 300-350 track. Its the lack of application and inability to play the turning ball shown by both teams.

I'm not sure what to make of Ashwin. As some other posters wrote after Sri Lanka, he looks much, much improved.

But then again, Jadeja and Elgar both look like Bishan Bedi on this track!

I think India will win by 100+ runs.
