Why are RM playing such a tentative plodding style? makes it look like they are playing together for the first time

Yes a very high quality performance against the form team of Europe .

There are no excuses for Liverpool playing against long ball , set pieces teams as you have to find a way . But with teams who want to play football such as Madrid and City it’s always a far better watch and suits this team .

Champions League is definitely winnable . Much such Anfield nights to come

Your not out of the Title Race. Way to early to jump to conclusions.

Slot was tinkering to much to get all his new signings all in at once. This never works. You found the right balance against the Villa and last night.

I say same team against City, and if you perform like last night, I see you guys beating City.
 
The key is gravenbach and sbozlai are back in the middle quality players, sbzolai needs to play in the middle

Wirtz has gone wide and out of that number 10 role

Sorry bhai, just looking at the stats and history- if Liverpool were to have any chance at the prem- they would have to make history, it has never been done before!

The stats point to Arsenal's prem to lose, despite there being a long way to go but it is theirs to lose!

Liverpool need a 10+ winning run which is possible but unlikely. Arsenal
Play a promoted team so another 3 points is certain , while City and Liverpool will play each other. They could be 10 points ahead , this is difficult to claw back even if you beat them away . It’s a shame as both City and Liverpool are in transition but on their day play much better football. Arsenal have to bottle it bigger than before to lose this one. They have to take it and will deserve it but next season it will be city and lfc again.

After 5 games?

10 games is a decent sample size, tge stats show that NO team has ever been in Liverpool's position like this and come back to win the league. No team has lost the prem EVER being in the position Arsenal are in now- all of this after a decent chunk of the season gone.....

I know Arsenal fans have trepidation with choking or worries but this really is a historic opportunity to win- Keown was spot on also, this Arsenal team will likely not get a better chance!

Tbh, a season by season approach would have likely meant consistency and no big spend, gone for the drastic pption and tried to integrate too many new players, try too many new things-has not worked.

I see people struggle to understand transition, so, let us get the dictionary to help you:

"the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another."

Trent is gone, his influence and style of play was fundamental to team dynamics, cannot replace like for like- alterations needed.

Wirtz etc. Integrate and try and change the dynamics of play.

Diaz gone and his versatility.

Seems a lot like a transition but let me borrow AJ's phrase- a lot of retarded logic for haters of Liverpool...! I get it, when you have so many leagues and European cups and others (not nami g names) haven't- this explains the convenient, selective blindness!

10 games a decent same size? We have even played half the teams in the PL once this seasin. Absolutely rubbish your coming up with. Probably 1st time ever rivals fans proclaiming after 10 games that a title race has started.

Also this has nothing to do with chocking, one bad week for Arsenal and a 6 point lead can dissapear. We've already seen Liverpool lose a 5 point lead and reality is Liverpool could have been 8 points clear before Arsenal had to play Newcastle

10 games is a decent sample size, the stats have been shared widely, Keown et al. have reinforced the narrative that this Arsenal side is formidable, feels different and it is their title to lose- I do not disagree. Some Arsenal fans might try hard to downplay that, however, it is clear, Arsenal are the team to beat and historically, it is their title to lose!

Also bigger leads have been thrown away with Less than 28 games to play.

Also integrating 3 players into a starting 11 isn't transition. So please stop clutching at straws.

Its your managers poor decision to try and integrate so many new players at once

Arsenal signed a huge number of players this summer, so the transition excuses can be rolled out by anyone

🥱 keown who is a paid by Arsenal for media duties, all of sudden is the oracle 🤣. A title isn't won after 10 games, I've been watching football since 1987. So I ain't getting carried away. Liverpool have bottle a ten point lead under klopp, also a big lead under Rogers. So this deflecting doesn't work.

Sunderland are already showing today, there are very few easy games in PL

Let me give you some context because I don’t recall seeing you here last season. We’re not Liverpool haters. We’ve just been giving one particular fan a taste of their own medicine because last season he was spending all of his time on here antagonising Arsenal fans, even whilst he was on Umrah.

Fast forward to this season, he’s been exposed as a plastic fan since he’s repeatedly gone missing when there’s a been few hiccups for your side this season.

To make matters worse, he’s lied about being too occupied to post as he’s been caught out logging in almost every day.

When Arsenal signed a lot of players, the fundamentals did not change. Liverpool tried way too much too soon- long term, In sha Allah it pays off- it was expected that last year would be the transition year but was pleasantly surprised.

Liverpool changing so much all at once is managers mistake, that's not transition.

Liverpool should have looked to have integrated new players in slowly. Only ekitike and wirtz from game 1 should have be introduced. I understand Bradley was injured so frimpong should have played.

Arsenal integrated Gyokeres and zubemendi in from game 1 as well. If say for example Gabriel or saliba was injured from game 1 and we started mosquera as CB. I would call 3 new players a transition.

There is no Transition at Liverpool, your simple moving a few players out and a few players in. The managers mismanagement is to blame here

Indeed Arsenal have bought more players, also had to change style of play to integrate Gyokeres and Zubimendi in the spine of the team. Maybe we should act like salty Liverpool fans and say we are in transition as well 🤣
 
City have owned Liverpool. 2-0 is actually flattering the scousers. Liverpool have been truly Awful. The hand break needs to come off. This City's backline is nothing special.

Not at all. City away is never a reasonable litmus test - Klopp only won one PL game at the Etihad in his entire tenure.

While aspects of our performance was poor, you cannot control refereeing decisions. Why the hell was that VVD goal chalked off ? At 1-1 it could've been a completely different game. Even diehard Mancs Neville and Rooney were gobsmacked.

That after they gifted City a penalty (which thankfully was saved).

I do question not buying a winger in the summer though to replace Diaz. Jeremy Doku showed what we missed - someone with electric pace who can beat a FB 1v1.

The fixture list eases after this international break so hopefully we can put a run together.

Donnarumma dived the correct way so can't have been significantly impaired by Robertson's position. He was to the left of him and had clear sight of the ball throughout. There's been similar situations in the PL where the goal has stood.

How can a referee disallow that goal - yet this blatant obstruction of Alisson in the Atletico Madrid game (which we won so it's not sour grapes) was deemed not interfering with play ?!

Better still- the same ref in the match last year- City vs Wolves at Molineux.... eatxh John Stones last minute header- yoh cannot actually script hypocrisy like it.

Sure, city undoubtedly were the better side, however, would have liked to have seen what would have happened had ot rightly 1-1.

Liverpool were unlucky in the first half , 2 deflected goals and a perfectly good goal ruled out , if it stood things could have been different .

Yes Liverpool threw away the league , Manchester City are favourites now , Arsenal are a bottle job .
