What's new

Liverpool FC 2025/26 Season

If the board have any sense or to prevent a shock relegation battle , serious consideration on bringing back klopp as a stop gap measure .

Slot needs sacking sorry any Liverpool manager who ends up with the team in bottom half of the table should be a sackable offence .

If the board continue and throws money on panic signings in January expect the worse , slot isn't the right manager we will be near that relegation zone if this continues consecutive defeats after defeats .

He is so far below fitness that it is scarily bad!

He really should not have behaved in that way with Newcastle- a club that did him well and a top notch fan base/city.
How he went about it was all wrong and it's definitely had an impact on his start at Liverpool

I've seen enough of him to know his quality will eventually come through however two things need to happen, he needs to get fit and Liverpool need to play to his strengths (much like we used to, especially with Jacob Murphy)

But I'll certainly enjoy it whilst his misery lasts

Very well put bhai and completely understand.

Much prefer amicable splits tbh.

I think the whole debacle over the striker has unsettled them. Isak has done nothing at Liverpool. Then again Gyokores has done little at Arsenal. Sesko hasn’t done loads at United. The striker position is just very overrated in modern football in the premier league. Liverpool were stupid to not just pay the money but to chase after him and force him into the system. Nearly every top team in premier league is more threatening from out wide.

Pep had it right. He either wanted Kane or Haaland. Otherwise he didn’t even want to play with a proper striker. It’s the situation where it’s truly an elite striker who is guaranteed to make an impact or nothing.

Slot didn’t need the pressure of the expensive striker. Wirtz is also feeling more of a burden. Should have focused just shoring up the defense this season. Liverpool are a side that is going through transition but has tried to patch things in the wrong order. You always build out from the back when building up a team.

Gyokeres has been very effective at Arsenal and has contributed multiple goals and assists. There is no comparison of him with the the other two this season. I think Arsenal are very happy with the striker they got, can’t say the same about Liv or Utd.

Okay no assists but he has 6 goals so far which is excellent. I don’t think Arsenal fans are complaining about Gyo…

@KingKhanWC. Jeez Buddy. Another Spanking handed out to your boys. Serious issues in the dressing Room.

LOL Bro, the league was done weeks ago. No point becoming happy with every loss now.

Liverpool have had a plenty of success, ARsenal and UTd have won no major trophy for decades, we will be back next season.

Champions League is the big one now to aim for.

He’s been good and no complaints. But I think Arsenal would be in this position with or without him. Fans overrate the importance of the striker. I remember Arsenal fans saying the main problem with the team was lack of striker last season. I just don’t think that was the case.

Haaland is the exception. But I think every top team looks at him and think why can’t they have someone like that. But there aren’t many of that quality out there. And even Man City have been willing to adapt their team to accommodate him to an extent which Arsenal and Liverpool will not. Which is also down to the fact that the striker isn’t good enough to mess with the rest of the team around him.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Champions league! The likes of PSG, Bayern, Barcelona will tear that backline to shreads. Best you can hope for is a domestic trophy, even then pray you don't draw UTD or Palace. Lol 😆

Different competition . Madrid are the form team in Europe but we made it look easy .

Im confident we will get further than Arsenal and defo further than Utd .

Yup chasing the next Haaland would be wishful thinking but strikers come in all shapes and sizes, and Gyo is a top striker in his own right. Watch Arsenal play with and without him, it’s different. He’s more direct than all the other cf options Arsenal have. Runs with the ball, takes on defenders. Things that Havertz and Merino won’t do or Jesus is never available to do. Gyo is making a huge difference at Arsenal and the team wouldn’t be here without him.

Paul Doyle pleads guilty to Liverpool parade charges

Paul Doyle has pleaded guilty to all 31 charges after ploughing his car into a dense crowd of supporters at the Liverpool FC victory parade.

The 54-year-old admitted dangerous driving, affray, 17 charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, nine counts of causing GBH with intent and three counts of wounding with intent.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it was an "act of calculated violence" when Doyle drove into the crowd on the evening of the 26 May, injuring more than 130 people.

The father-of-three, of Croxteth, Liverpool, sat with his head down and sobbed as he changed his pleas on the second day of his trial at Liverpool Crown Court.

Thousands of Liverpool fans were in the city on the day of Doyle's attack to watch the parade, which started at 14:30 BST on 26 May.

The team bus had travelled down The Strand, which passes the end of Water Street, before the incident and the parade was coming to a close, with supporters heading home.

More than 130 people reported injuries after Doyle drove his Ford Galaxy Titanium into crowds on Water Street just after 18:00.

He was arrested at the scene and charged later that week.

A jury was sworn in for his trial on Tuesday but he changed his pleas earlier as the prosecution case was due to be opened.

The charges relate to 29 people aged between six months and 77 years.

Doyle, a former Royal Marine, was in tears at a number of pre-trial hearings when he appeared over videolink from prison.

He was supported in court by family members when he appeared earlier.

The Recorder of Liverpool Andrew Menary KC told Doyle it was "inevitable" he would be facing a custodial sentence "of some length".

A two-day sentencing hearing was set for 15 and 16 December at the same court.

Sarah Hammond, chief crown prosecutor for the Crime Prosecution Service, said Doyle had finally accepted that he intentionally drove into crowds of innocent people.

"Dashcam footage from Doyle's vehicle shows that as he approached Dale Street and Water Street, he became increasingly agitated by the crowds," she said.

"Rather than wait for them to pass, he deliberately drove at them, forcing his way through.

"Driving a vehicle into a crowd is an act of calculated violence.

"This was not a momentary lapse by Paul Doyle — it was a choice he made that day and it turned celebration into mayhem."

Det Ch Insp John Fitzgerald said it was only "by sheer luck that nobody was killed because of Doyle's reckless actions".

"In just seven minutes his dangerous driving meant that his car collided with more than 100 people, including children, in some cases trapping people underneath and causing serious injuries.

"What should have been a day of celebration for the city turned into a distressing and frightening experience which we know continues to have a physical and psychological impact on many people."

I've seen sieves leak less than our defence !

I'm eternally grateful for title #20 but afraid the manager's position looks increasingly untenable. He has never coached a team out of a slump, and it shows.

I'd pay for a one way ticket to Madrid for Konate. Van Dijk and Salah also need pensioning off - there's a reason why teams generally don't renew contracts for players well past age of 30.

I told you from the start the problem is the manager and his tactics most ex player now pundits have been blaming his tactics

I think Slot should stay and I don’t believe he’s under threat to lose his job. Liv ownership would know better than that.

Liv fans too should toughen up to ride out a difficult season and get behind the manager who won them the league in his first season.

Otherwise, if you’re a fair weather fan only, looks bad on you.

Win or loss, I am with Liverpool. :inti

Lol, Arsenal are writing a lot of cheques..... let's hope you guys can cash these in (this time).... even you guys cannot Bottle the Prem this season!

Unfortunately, being a grown man, i will not have the time or skills to devise memes to supplement any bottling this season... so, i do hope you guys actually do something!

On a more serious note and for those with some logic or sanity... i do wonder how much of a toll was placed by the passing of Diogo Jota... sorely missed. I also wonder if they would have still bought who they did had he been in consideration as a reliable bench striker and backup.

That was hillarious :ROFLMAO:

Slot is out soon now imo.

It ok bro, I'll watch Utd in Europe tonight to make me feel better.
Not even Peshawari Jimmy got spanked as much as you have this season.

The fact you haven't changed your profile avatar after humiliation Says it all

Lets be brutally frank here.

The notion "We've lost the league lets concentrate elsewhere" is at its heart, defeatism. Accepting defeat when the maths says it ain't over till the fat lady sings. There's a reason why Liverpool of the 80s cemented their legend - it was the do-or-die attitude. Not playing for money, fame, respect or even the club - but for the people. This attitude is now lost for dust.

The second is the Jota excuse. We've all read it, Liverpool players replaying the Jota tragedy, fans singing the Jota verses, but lets face it, this is victim mentality and when Liverpool were topping the league, no one made any excuses then!

No jokes - Arteta is way more qualified than Slot. I don't remember Arsenal under Arteta imploding like this - across all competitions and breaking records set back in the 1950s like Slot has.

We will know if Liverpool's previous season title was a fluke under Slot or not - in a matter of months.

We are still the GOAT English clubs. For 10 years we have been competing and wining ,while the likes of Arsenal have won fa.

There are no excuses this is not good enough but all teams have bad seasons. We will be back next season.

I still think Arsenal will still bottle it somehow and your club the Bees will do well again to survive relegation.

Oh dear usual dead banter, all you ever come up with is the "past", why? Because you lack intelligence to come up with a meaningful response. The fact you dissapear like a coward after every defeat, is no different to your two hero's salah, who scammed a new contract and has retired. Virgil van twerk, the most overated CB in PL history.

All you part time fans and players deserve the humiliation Liverpool are getting right now

You need to get out of your little basement, put down the crayons and maybe you'll find some real friends. 100k posts is because you cannot disappear. Are you on some sort of oath , you wont leave your room until Arteta wins something? lol

There is no humiliation as we have won plenty, while you are acting like you support some great successful team lol

😴😴🥱🥱

Usual retarded response, you keep going on about 100K posts, you do realize I've been here since 2004. So not sure why you keep bring post count up?

I've seen Arsenal win plenty in my life time, I don't need to keep talking about the past.

If there was no humiliation? Then why hide after every Liverpool defeat?

Also the fact you have to keep resorting to personal digs, shows how rattled you are.

Part time plastic fan that can't take banter.

I've been to more live matches, than the times you've left your little bedroom. When was the last time you kicked a ball pal and I dont mean topspin?

Its only a sport , a game. Nothing to be humiliated over unless you're a bedroom arsenal fan with 80k posts attacking Arteta who will now win the league as the other teams are in transition.

Again you havent won fa yet, so get a new keyboard for May.

🤣🤣 supposedly uve been to live matches? You sit in the part time section with the other other part time losers at your club.

Again, if it's only a sport? Then why hide like a coward?

Arsenal are only winning because teams are in transition? so Liverpool spending 500M on a title winning squad is transition is it?

Like I said the fact your coming out with lame personal jibes 😴🥱 shows how rattled you are. Maybe come up with some better banter, after uve dried your tears. Maybe get your nappy changed

What is a part time section? The last ground you went to was Highbury with school?

There is no need to hide from some big fat bloke in his basement with 100k posts.

Liverpool had a less net spend than Arsenal but basement invoices has been lost by you.

Its not personal, its factual. Get out more uncle.

Oh net spend.. yet another Liverpool excuse 🤣🤣

Part time section is for cry babies like you who run off after every defeat then come back few days later, with same excuses...

But but liverpools history..

But but net spend..

But but where in transition..

But but il run and cry to mods who support Liverpool..

Absolutely plastic part time loser thar can't take banter

Net spend is what's important , as you lose players too. Hope that helps.

Slot having 'same conversations' at club despite form

Under-pressure Liverpool manager Arne Slot says talks with the club's owners after the defeat by PSV Eindhoven were the "same conversations" he has had with them since arriving at Anfield and they will "fight on".

The Dutch manager is under increasing pressure at Anfield after the Reds suffered a 4-1 defeat to PSV in the Champions League, their ninth loss in 12 games this season making it their worst run in 71 years.

Asked whether he had spoken to sporting director Richard Hughes or the ownership group after the game, Slot said: "We've had the same conversations that we've had since I got here.

"We fight on. We try to improve, but the conversations have been the same as they have been for the last one and a half years."

Slot helped Liverpool secure their 20th league title in May and spent almost £450m on new signings in the summer, including a British record £125m for Alexander Isak.

However, the reigning champions are 12th in the Premier League with six wins and six defeats after 12 matches while they sit 13th in the 36-team league phase of the Champions League.

After their latest defeat, former Reds defender Jamie Carragher said on CBS Sports that Liverpool are "not a sacking club" but "it does get to a stage for any manager at a club where it's untenable".

"There is a lot of pressure if you work or play at a top club," Slot said, speaking before the visit to West Ham on Sunday, 30 November (14:05 GMT).

"And then there is even more when you start losing more games than this club, players or the manager are used to. But there was pressure last season as well for us to win the league.

"But now it's a different kind of pressure because we have lost so many games.

"In the end, it's about doing what this club is about. Keep fighting no matter how difficult it is. It would also be nice if we reward ourselves in the moments we play well."

Slot said he expects to welcome back goalkeeper Alisson from injury while also adding that the issue sustained by forward Hugo Ekitike against PSV "shouldn't be a big issue."

"Alisson trained again [on Thursday] with the team, we hope and expect he is available at the weekend," the Dutchman said.

"[Florian] Wirtz will have his final day of rehab [on Friday] and if all goes well he can train with he team on Saturday."

Net spend is just an excuse for losers ike you to hide behind. Facts are you spent 400M on new players and uve got worse.

We all know your getting bent over again at weekend and you will go into hiding again like the plastic fair weather fan that you are

I knew Liv fans as the most passionate supporters until I entered this thread. ‘Anti-establishment club’ ‘you will never walk alone’ etc etc. Fan base is conveniently throwing the manager under the bus.

In my opinion, this turning on the manager stems from entitlement and lack of genuine understanding of how football or any sports works. I am judging all Liverpool fans calling for Slot’s ouster.

Liverpool fans are cry babies who can't handle defeat or banter.

Anytime they go through a bad period, they always bring up usual rubbish

Past glory
Net spend
Some sort of grievance or victim card excuse
Deflection tactics

Other than Maz Khan and Markhor who are honest and dignified. Rest are cry babies

All nice folks but would really do well to toughen up and ride out a difficult season and see the rewards of actually transitioning in a few years.

Do you think it’s fair to say Slot Out for Liv supporters? Even the posters you mentioned have hinted they want Slot out.
