Minimum wins for a chance at the 2019 World Cup semi-finals / Wins that guarantee a semi-final slot

If Bangladesh today defeat Australia and India and Nz defeat England it will open all type of scenario

Bangladesh will lose to both Australia and India. Why? Because these are the sort of teams that know how to win games, even not playing at their best. Bangladesh will be no walkovers and the victory margin will probably not be big. But these two teams, especially Australia know the are of getting 2 points when they are not playing their best. Reminds me of Man U of the 90s and 00s.

Bangladesh are an excellent team, so I would expect them to keep challenging the top 4 till the India match, after which they will be mathematically out.

AFG will be mathematically out of contention this weekend. Also, by Sunday, SA, WI and Pak will only remain in contention for NRR. They will be out by mid next week even mathematically.

Pak, SA, WI and SL will be mathematically out of contention by next Thursday.

BAN will be mathematically out of contention after the India Bangladesh game.

The result - Effectively rendering 1/3 of the games dead rubber.

If West Indies win against New Zealand on Saturday, we are back in the hunt. If Sri Lanka win tomorrow and West Indies win on Saturday the whole competition will be cracked open.

Sadly, I don't see either happening.

Some people will find a silver-lining on doomsday. It is good to be positive, but positivity should be within the realms of reality. Anyone who genuinely thinks that Pakistan is not done and dusted in this World Cup needs serious help. I am actually glad that we are getting eliminated early and that is why I was very happy to see New Zealand dashing our hopes yesterday.

This team doesn't deserve to get lucky and go through. We are a mediocre, fluke team that fully deserves its 6th ranking. Also, our players and even our fans have no respect for the game.

What do you mean our fans have no respect for the game lol?

Every single time a tournament comes in Pakistan has to depend on other teams performing poorly [or the weather gods intervening] rather than on their performance. This is especially true in the last 20 years. No wonder the fans are always stoking up some conspiracy theory or the other. Reminds me of my village elders who would sit around a banyan tree, and talk about how the village would become great in the coming months/years though no tangible difference was made in investment

It's not all over if NZ beat WI. It's definitely over for windies that's it. If England lose all their matches or Australia lose all their matches, there is a slim chance. PAK need to beat SA first. Not sure that is a foregone conclusion.

Even in 1992, Pakistan won just 1 out of first 5 matches and then won cup.

I think England India and Australia will be top 3..and 4 teams will be vying for 4th spot with 9 points each..
NZ, SAF ,WI and Pak will likely be on 9 points.and runrate will decide .
If BD beats pak, then they will swap places with pak who go down to 7 points ..
Out of those 4 you mention , NZ already has 9
SAF ,WI and Pak have 3
and BD has 5 ( although not in your list)
We can safely assume that its between BD and NZ ...eventhough NZ has an edge there.
SA ,WI and PK are 99.99% eliminated because PKvsSA will have 1 team loosing , so both team definetly winning all its matches

we are done. our WC is over. Luck favours the brave , and we didnt played like a brave team.

People are talking about other teams beating other teams like Pakistan is going to win all its remaining matches.

This World Cup is over for Pakistan.

However that doesn’t mean we need to lose all our remaining matches.

We need to carry our legacy.
