What's new

New Zealand end Day 1 of 2nd Test on 63/0 after India are bowled out for 242

Fair enough. I thought he would get out soon. He looked uncomfortable. Now he is taking on the short stuff. I think this is a better approach than fending off.

Yep he has gone on the offensive and has put NZ bowlers on the back foot.

Vihari was going after every single short ball . Eventually one would get him commies were saying. That is exactly what happened.

I won't complain about the shot if it is first ball after tea. But with tea around that was such a dumb shot selection

That was last over before Tea!!!! Game again in balance, but this time 2nd ball is 25 overs away while India already has 200 on board.

What u reckon will be a good score here.?
And will the conditions ease out on day 2?

Vihari played a dumb shot to get out but at least he did his job partially. India is set up very nicely with NZ bowlers demoralized by this onslaught. It's upto Pujara and Pant to take India to 300 plus.

I think, India will need 350 to push advantage here considering Ishant is not playing. It’s not that difficult a wicket as it looks, but there will be some uneven bounce from 2nd innings. Whoever gets a good (75+) lead should this Test.

Pant has to come out and play like vihari to get 300 plus, if india gets there, that will be huge advantage going forward.Recon it will be good test match.

I would say India slightly have the edge. Should get atleast 300 from here and quick second day pitch would be ideal for bowling

I hope ChePu gets a 100 here, he is once again proving when going gets tough he stands up to the task unlike the kaptaan.

We have to give an excuse for captain as he is going through rough patch. He is in horrible touch as such he can't play even straighter ones.

Jamieson strikes.

Roll them for under 250.

Damn our catching...

Could have rolled India for under 200 again if we held our chances.

Why does Pant keep getting selected? He's looked really average most of the time I've seen him.

Would be better picking Rahul tbh.

Jamieson strikes anyway.

This should be the end of Pant.

Bring in Rahul.

Pant scored 12 runs with 3 lives lmao. 4 of those runs were through a dropped chance.

Indians really hype this guy? I still remember that idiotic shot he played in the WC SF when India were rebuilding.

He's got nothing between the ears, India should go with Rahul who is more talented, smarter and more reliable.

Honestly, I am not sure who is a better Test batsman - Pant or Saha. Keeping I do know....

They have this guy Nitesh Rana from KKR who looked solid to me.

Saha is a fighter and doesn't give it away like Pant. He scored 12 runs with 3 lives :)))

Iyer (I know he's not a keeper), Rahul and Saha should be ahead of Pant.

They are trying out KS Bharat in A tours but he hasn’t made any substantial scores yet. Other than that we don’t have any younger options. Rahul is part-time keeper at his best and can’t have part-time keepers in Test cricket

Really hope this is Pant’s last test match. India is doomed if he travels to Australia.

Jamieson could be the next great NZ all rounder.

He has something about him and has the knack of coming up big and is clutch.

Saha averages 30 after playing his games both home and away. One has to be patient with Pant. He is good but looked all in sea today. Looked good in first test.

India blew the Test in six overs; unless last two pairs put 50+

His lack of pace might be a problem outside Newzealand though. But his batting skills are pretty solid.

Good thing for India is they have scored these runs quickly meaning they'll have more bowling time in these conditions.

Need a quick fire inning from Jadeja. Ashwin wouldn't have across anything over here and India would have been all out at 225. Let's see if Jadeja can take it a bit far or he himself gets out.

Pant's average before this test series : 44.35
After 3 innings in this series : 40.50

And some fans think he will average 50 plus in tests lol. As I said, he is a batsman who won't average more than 30 in test cricket. The more he plays the more he will be exposed. :inti

Maiden 5fer for The Big Dog!

YESS BOY :kohli

This is some collapse.

India were 190 odd for 5 looking set for 280+

LOL at the disgraceful Indians, 1.3 billion people and they only play one sport in the country and yet they are a disgrace at the national sport of India which is cricket.

Kohli compared to Smith? Indians are a joke, they are bad losers and even worse winners.

Jamieson the game changer.

He's been a thorn in India's side ever since he debuted :))

Mere pyare deshwaasiyon, please don't feed the troll. I repeat, please don’t feed the troll.😂😂😂

He is a good bowler but here Indians have gifted wickets trying to hit out rather than him bowling wicket-taking balls.

India still have a pretty solid total on the board tbh.

We need to wrap this up quick.

Jamieson is deceptively quick, he bowls 130s but it gets through faster.

India have never looked comfortable against him throughout this series.

Yes, they haven't seen much of him before this with the red ball. Once they play him in a few matches and work him out with the video analysis etc, then he won't be as much of a threat next time.

I blame Vihari for collapse. Wasted best batting conditions to Wagner’s sucker ball. That’s the only way he gets his wickets , must have played for tea. Pant flatters to deceive yet again. No idea how much freedom the management affords him. Looks a shadow of the past. Must bat below Jadeja next innings.

ODI series in Aus in a few weeks.
Good. I though believe he could be a very good allrounder for you even if he couldn’t repeat the same bowling performance outside Newzealand. His batting look solid enough for any surface.

India have a par total IMO.

Need to bat well to get a lead.

But I don't really know what to make of this surface. It wasn't doing much early, then there was some movement.

I think the pitch is pretty good to bat on tbh and if we bat well we should be able to score a good total.

How many series do we lose to debutants with same reason ? It was Ngidi and Sam Curran before. Jamieson now

Yorker does the trick.

Decent total in the end but India would be disappointed as they should have scored a lot more.

Cmon Shami get us to 250 else you won’t get to bowl twice considering you are a second innings specialist.
