Official Pakistan 2013 General Elections thread

Which 2 seats?

LOL these stupid analyst think we have no presence in Balochistan and Sindh :)

We are serious contender for 2 seats in Balochistan and 8 seats in Sindh...

I am from Balochistan.Which 2 seats exactly?
BTW,i can't vote cos i am in peshawar at uni.:(

Apan log bhi young generation haiN , many youngsters are still with Bhai .

Yaar seedhi baat hai , apne ilaqay maiN sirf MQM ne kaam kia hai tou vote MQM ka banta hai . jis ke ilaqe maiN nahi kia woh na kare , sanu ki ? When PTI shows more interest in Karachi and does something better for my area , i will vote for them .

Sach baat hai - you have to earn my vote .

Why not give them a chance first then make judgements later, also may ask why you are not looking at the bigger picture please? Parties like PML and MQM will do nothing to improve the overall economy of pakistan and move the country as a whole forward in the next four years yet you are only worried about where you live, if there is a guy who has the potential to bring overall change its only natural to assume things will improve for you in karachi. Voting for MQM will only increase the decline of pakistan as a nation...please vote for PTI bro

First give them a chance. PTI havent done anything for anyone yet! Stop with this low lovel mentality which is no different then baradri system in Punjab.

Ok this is epic :))

Copy/pasting a friend's status update.
Happened to opt for the Metro Bus instead of driving to Qainchi's traffic laden signal for buying stuff just next to the station.
The ticketing dude said 'Bus Noon di, vote ballay da' to every passenger.

Oh the irony!

The rickshaw I took today in Lahore had Tabdeeli Razakar stickers pasted all over it. Unsurprisingly, the driver and his family were all voting for PTI.

I know Muhajirs of Karachi supporting PTI . Yeh alag baat hai woh saare bache haiN and their elders support MQM . :wasim

Nope, some there who don't think that politics is all about ethnicity, militant wing or singing. :altaf :D

No point arguing or pleading with MQM supporters...they all suffer from an acute case of Stockholm syndrome and are the most bone headed...even PPP jiyalays get favors in return for their support...

MQM supporters suffer the most while their fat-cat leaderaan enrich themselves...

I have a mate who's from pak at uni with me, he comes from faisalabad and he said everyone their is voting for PTI and was like once i get my degree from the UK i will go pakistan and have a good job there when imran khan comes into power things will change in the next four years.....he has so much hope and faith in Imran khan and believes he will win and i really hope from the bottom of my heart that his dream like many others will be fullfilled

Well let's not overdo it, people are entitled to make their own choices, for good or for worse and shouldn't be forced into voting one way or another.

That's true, but lets face the facts here. Everything is crystal clear on who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.....and PTI deserve a chance. Some pakistanis really have weird thinking patterns and its my duty to do what i can with my fam members over there and its now or never for PTI and imran khan, its the moment of truth. Pakistan is at its lowest point in time and in these times we need hope and the only place that hope comes from is imran khans vision of a naya pakistan.

His campaign has been Punjab focused . Karachi is they city that generates more than 60 % of the revenue of the country . He has overlooked it because Punjab has the biggest population and where any party can win if they can get that province to vote only . The constant violence in other provinces will help their cause as the turnout may not be what it could have been without it .

If everyone focuses on improving their ilaqay , the whole country will prosper .

They need to tell me what their plan is to improve my area .

And , I hate the Mullacracy in our country . If Imran Khan had made some statements denouncing and condemning them , I would vote for him , just for that .

There's immense jazba amongst the Karachi youth. Most of them know Muttahida may end up winning but they're still adamant on casting their votes in favour of PTI.
I know dozens of families who never casted their vote before!

I personally know many die-hard MQM supporters who will vote for PTI's candidate for NA. IK's strategy of not directly targetting Altaf may have helped I guess

Inshallah we can get around 55% or even more people to come out and vote tomorrow.. inshallah PTI can do it : D

Feel the difference!

NS and Zardari/Bilawal address a rally or their own supporters. IK addresses the nation, his speeches are culturally inclusive reaching out to all the communities and ethnic groups. I know he's young and inexperienced but feel the difference between this terrible, divisive, vote-seeking video message by Bilawal and IK's speech yesterday

[utube]6A3GNUqxSws[/utube]

Cast your vote sensibly.

The last message of Nawaz Sharif's final campaign address
"hum qarzay aap ke darwazon tak pohanchayen ge"

The last sentence of Balawal's final campaign address
"Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Benazir Beqasur"

The last message of Khan's Final Campaign
"Apne zor-e-Bazoo pe yaqeen rakhen ge. Allah ke siwa kisi ke aagay nahin jhukein ge"

Nawaz gives a speech with a PML-N flag behind him, Bilawal gives a speech with a PPP Flag, IK with a Pakistan Flag

Do you know Jamatis did not support the creation of Pakistan ?

Just spoke to some of my relatives in Karachi, they usually vote for MQM or JI but will be voting PTI this time around. Although its quite unlikely that PTI will win any seats from Karachi.

He had initially planned the second last jalsa in Karachi for the 9th. But the thanks to your MQM & its never-ending politics he could not come there due to the security situation.

He does not now but he did before . He said he was going to file a case against him and make sure he is in jail . He flew to London and then Bhai ke saath deal kar li lagta hai :zardari

First you need to get your facts right about revenue. It collects not generate thanks to being the only port city in Pakistan which will change with gwadar. If PTI was gunda party then im sure they would have concentrated more in Karachi.

First Karachi need to get rid of militant groups supported by parties there. Make police force much more stronger and independent. The seats are fixed so doesnt matter how many votes. Last time Q league had way more votes then N but almost half the seats.

He had initially planned the second last jalsa in Karachi for the 9th. But the thanks to your MQM & its never-ending politics he could not come there due to the security situation.

So the security situation of Karachi scares the brave Khan ? He did fine in the jalsa before .

That is because he cannot step in Karachi if 'Bhai' doesn't approve of it.
Karachi is Altafs fathers 'jaageer' as I always put it.

Well if Karachis leading party is not safe in the city it practically 'owns', how would IK conduct a safe jalsa with thousands of people?

Its quite clear only PTI is the national party. Rest of them only care about their vote bank.

If I am not wrong ANP was/is also against the creation of Pakistan. It seems like most of these parties are cut from the same cloth.

And that is enough for you to think that imran khan will ignore karachi if he comes in to power a city which generates 60% of the revenue....come on bro

MQM voters = Punjabi 'Baradri' voters = Bhutto romanticist voters

You CANNOT convince them to vote for PTI.

That is because he cannot step in Karachi if 'Bhai' doesn't approve of it.
Karachi is Altafs fathers 'jaageer' as I always put it.

If it is as much of his jageer , his people would not get killed . He would be living in Karachi . He would not have been attacked . Get rid of that mentality .

MQM is not some Khuda bhagwan . Other than these political parties , there are many more politically backed mafias and if their interests clash , they wreak havoc in Karachi because they are ALL armed to teeth . You obviously don`t know about the problems tanker mafia , qabza mafia , dry ports mafia have been causing .

Candidate of Jamat Islami in Quetta has withdrawn in favour of PTI candidate Qasim Suri.

And that is enough for you to think that imran khan will ignore karachi if he comes in to power a city which generates 60% of the revenue....come on bro

I don`t know if it has been deliberate so I will try and not use the term ignore . All I know is , PPP was lacking a leader and could not campaign , ANP and MQM would be the only parties he would have to fight with and he could have really sweeped Karachi . He could have focused more on Karachi , that has the biggest population in the country .

By next elections , next generation of Bhuttos will be ready . :azhar

Dr. Arif Alvi should win NA-250 from Karachi...

In my constituency NA-95 Ali Ashraf Mughal looks favourite as N league's candidate is not being supported by its MPA and Dastgir Khan...

The weather has turned quite pleasant after rain and strong winds in the most of Punjab...:)

Mehmood Achkzai is a strong candidate

He is a three times winner from Quetta but we can hope for the best

Oa ottoman, so ja ab....we have some real work to do tomorrow morning.....8 Baja tk polling station pr bhi puhnchna hai..

Imran Khan will surely win from NA-122

But in NA-1 and NA-56 ,it is more tough challenge..

NA-1 is already in Imrans hands. All analysts, interviews and most people from that constituency have confirmed it. Read news that PTI is even strong in NA-2.

NA-56 is neck & neck at the moment, but from what people are saying Imran has a slight advantage there.

LOL got this notification from PTI android app.

' 11th May - "Final Match - Pakistan won the toss and elected to Bat" :IK

Youngsters are really passionate about tomorrow......Dunya News reporting that PTI youth supporters are out in the liberty chowk Lahore in big number against election commission rules....

First they lathi charged to disperse them but they have again regrouped and dancing/chanting slogans...

Some one needs to calm them down...

Yes all PTI voters should get some sleep, we do not want people staying up whole night, only to go there and fall asleep midway through the voting queue. ::misbah_old

Imran Khan will win in NA-56 if families come out along with youngsters to push the turn out beyond 50 percent...

On the other hand Sheikh Rasheed's career is at stakes...

I guess thats the story in every constituency for PTI, we need voter turn-out to double up everywhere. inshALLAH it will happen tomorrow.

NA-55 is also a close contest, though i heard many analysts say that Sheikh Rasheed will take it in the end.

So the security situation of Karachi scares the brave Khan ? He did fine in the jalsa before .

Looney IK cancelled the Karachi jalsa not because of personal security but out of concern for his supporters (after being tipped off by the intelligence about a possible terrorist atrocity). What if there was a terrorist attack at his rally and scores of people died in it (cf. BB's jalsa on return in 2007). Then everyone incl. political parties, media etc. would be blaming IK for being irresponsible and what not.... everyone will be having a field day at his expense!

Karachi may be the economic hub of our country but you just can't equate Karachi with the rest of Pakistan esp. Central and Northern Punjab as far as safety & security is concerned

And I don't mean it in a bad way (my mother taught at PECHS Girls school, Karachi in the late 60s and early 70s before marriage) but Karachiites need to stop blaming others for all their ills and get their own house in order first. As I see it, the very parties that you guys support - PPP, MQM and ANP, the stakeholders and their militant wings, are the problem

I strongly condemn these TTP killings but was there ever peace in Karachi? Taliban/TTP is just a recent phenomenon. mein ney jab sey hosh sanbhala hai, Karachi k yeh hi haalat dekh raha houn! It means that there is something fundamentally wrong with the city itself. I do not know a great deal about Karachi or it's culture (as I have never lived there myself) nor wish to tar everyone with the same brush but it seems that you guys or the culture that exists in Karachi is part of the problem. yeh culture Hyderabad Sindh mein kyon nahin, Lahore mein kyon nahin, Pindi mein kyon nahin etc. Thank god it does not exist in Islamabad from where I am originally.

Besides what did PPP government do to restore peace in Karachi or to improve the situation in the city? The situation has gone from bad (under Musharraf) to worse (under Zardari). Tell us about some of the steps taken during the last 5 years by nikema Qaim Ali Shah (one of the the most useless CMs over the past 5 years) to tackle the problem? Yet many Karachiites conveniently blame NS and IK (who hasn't even been in power yet) for all their ills. Ultimately you guys need to clean up your own mess. About time all the stakeholders came to their senses and sincerely worked towards restoring peace in the city.

I can accept that IK has a soft corner for Taliban (I have never understood or supported his Taliban position but his other many positives far outweigh his negatives) but to say that he supports extremists or militants is an eyewash.

Jokes aside, almost everyone stands against Taliban, considering Taliban's stand against almost everything. Those who think Imran will join hands with terrorists need to see whether they skipped their medicine recently, no offense. He can bring diddly squat of a change if he lets these terrorists run roost. Besides, it will be up to the intelligence, military and police to root these guys out on the ground.

Anyway, at the end of the day if this is the only thing IK's opponents can bring against him, then he is not doing too bad for himself.

It's logical to think imran khan would have a heavy focus on your city especially due to the economical potential, i don't see why you wouldnt vote for him. And look at the bigger picture to besides just being concerned about where you live...

I was just thinking that staying in the middle east i should atleast send out some random texts to Pakistani numbers to vote for bat. :IK

Ok, good night.....

May I have sound sleep till only 7 am......other wise hot weather and long queue will welcome me...

I can see someone holding a Non league flag right infront :NS

Yep, Nooras got the news that PTI people are being lathi charged....

They joined them in second show after about half an hour as Police got relaxed after dispersing the earlier PTI rally ...

People are testing their throats there..:P

Braves r not scared of anything. But they r not stupid and wouldn't put their loved ones in harms way. So stop that nonsense. Karachi has been hijacked by MQM. I am from Karachi and i dont support that drunk. Just sad to see so many educated people following a drunk. I think they do that because they r under threath. I wouldn't be surprise , if MQM looses big time in Karachi.

If PTI really establishes in Karachi , it will have a militant wing too . Likh ke rakho . Karachi maiN goliyoN se neeche baat nahi hoti .

^ People become vultures in Karachi . Noch noch ke laash khane wali qoum ban chuke haiN yaar . And I am including everyone here .

See thats the problem with you karachi folks. Just because one man or a group of people has established this sort of bloody political environment in the city, it does not mean it always has to be this way..

The change comes from the people themselves and if the people themselves continue to believe that IS the best way or the only way, then shame on them.

Always hope for the best and stay positive, be champions for change.. It is quite apparent the age old tried and tested methods have brought nothing but failure and bloodshed.. So why this reluctance towards a promising and better change?

Saaray Karachi ke log aise nahee hain. Otherwise it's a good post.

^ That party is not addressing issues that matter to me

As opposed to the party that is currently controlling the city has done such a fabulous job of addressing your issues, right?

Does that justify all the katlo gharat and bhatta khori?

^ People become vultures in Karachi . Noch noch ke laash khane wali qoum ban chuke haiN yaar . And I am including everyone here .

I am sorry if I am misinterpreting what you said but it seems like you are saying that violence is part of the culture in Karachi. Which is completely wrong, some parties have spread militancy and violence but its wrong to say a party can't establish themselves in Karachi without a militant wing.

Apan log bhi young generation haiN , many youngsters are still with Bhai .

Yaar seedhi baat hai , apne ilaqay maiN sirf MQM ne kaam kia hai tou vote MQM ka banta hai . jis ke ilaqe maiN nahi kia woh na kare , sanu ki ? When PTI shows more interest in Karachi and does something better for my area , i will vote for them.

Sach baat hai - you have to earn my vote .

This is the problem with Pakistan. We think about our neighborhood, city, province before we think about Pakistan. The day we became a nation from a land where many different people live and it will solve many problems Pakistan is facing today.

It is not just Karachi , militancy and violence are problems that most of Pakistan faces .
