What's new

Official: Pakistan Vs England 1st Test Day 4 [15/11/05]

I love how the mood on this message board follows the pattern:

1. OH NO! OUT (posts reporting outs)
2. Let's drop whoever got out
3. Lowering of expectations (Let's try to get 200 lead)
4. Justification of how we can do it as the new batsmen may be capable
5. Hope.

It's a beautiful thing.

Have Faith, Inshallah Pakistan Will Cross The 200 Mark.

Only 32 more before 200.

Akmal has to take as much strike as possible.

186 more balls to go before close of play.

Can Pakistan hang on?

Even if they are down to 9 men by close of play, it'll be a great victory of sorts.

i don't think we gona play 30 overs maybe another 20 overs by end of the day!

So are we agreed that 200 is the magic number to keep this respectable?

Lead is 168.

How many more minutes?

Every minute counts, now.

How about some time wasting tactics?

Maybe Shoaib Akhtar can turn on one of his injury performances and lie writhing in the middle of the pitch for 15 minutes?

The ball is 18 overs old now. Surely Flintoff and Harmy and Hoggard will rest now?

I think Giles will be brought on to test Shoaib.

Akmal Is Doing The Right Thing. If Shoaib Is Taking Strike Then Thats Fine, At Least He Is Showing Faith In Akhtar, Which Is Encouraging.

I Am A Tailender Myself And Trust Me. We Love To Bat, And Try To Give It Our 100%

:)))
I remember Kamran also getting cramps in that epic Mohali innings :D

Shan. He Is Showing Confidence In Akhtar.

The Idea Still Should Be To Rotate The Strike.

Got worried when he popped that ball up in the air but thankfully it's landed safe. Been impressed by Shoaib with both bat and ball.

come on shoaib come on akmal keep batting i think its time to do the rain dance

well i think Akmal should get some runs not just take singles in first two balls and give strike to akhtar

I just woke up but:

Why did Yousaf do nothing once again after a great start by But and Inzi? Isn't he our seniior batsmen?

I guess what I am trying to get at is, was it the ball he got out too or himself?

I just thought of something. The drama, the tension, the excitement of Test matches is such that I don't know why people even bother with One days.

Isn't this wonderful?!

Im not even watching but am feeling the tension and drama. ODIs just dont give the same feeling

Amir

Yousy was looking good came in hit 16 off 10 balls at a time when consolidation was needed he got out playing a sqaure cut to a short ball outside off stump straight to gully was careless batting

he was playing too many shots..also heard he is carrying a injury...but still..

Moyo..chased at a wide bouncing one.

the average score everyday has been around 250-260 but 200 is nothing for england with kp and freddy in team. the only problem is last innings can england handel the spin and the new ball

I agree, the difference being that you have to have some commitment and some resove to really enjoy test cricket. Most people now just look for the quick fix that is an ODI.

what you guys think of the wicket?? is it starting to help the bowlers more yet???
It might be getting better. STill not much in for the pacers and Danish has to bowl the spell of his life. I mean look at our second inning score, compared to first inning.

The batsmen should start running onto the pitch to help it break up.

With two batsmen more to come, who are the Pakistanis saving the pitch for?

pitch is getting more cracks...

but..ball has stopped swinging...

still a good batting track.

Nothing with track, ball only swings in morning, why it is key to bat out the day.

Actor has survived more deliveries in this innings than Yousef and Raza combined did in both innings.

so essentially we need to bat the whole day or as long as we can and then maybe winkle out strauss and tresco..then we have a big chance..

Someone had forgotten to tell Mohommad Yousaf that he was supposed to be playing a test match not a one day match.

hopefully after seening shoaibs commitment in his batting will shut a few people whor cry if he seems to be not showing an commitment

19 runs more needed to 200 run lead. We get there it will be a psychological advantage, and our players can believe. Anything less than 200 may hamper their morale.

This Akmal guy might be the next great thing. Watch this space!

Having said that, Toonboy, how many more minutes?

44 to go for setting decent target 69 to go for setting good targer

Giles on now. Should be interesting to see how these two look against him. They looked very comfortable against the seemers.

:13: by my calculations using the multani sundial and other astute guesswork..

63 mins at best..butl likely 68mins!

Calm down, Shoaib, calm down!

There's a lot of work still to do. Somebody, get this man off the strike!!

Out...ok now shabbir and dani, innings over. Just have a slog Akmal, no point trying or atleast send our Dani before shabbir.
