Its sort of crazy bazid and matt prior both score in the same match and are from the same alma matter. Sor of crazy lol.
 
Bazid is not in the picture - and this match is pretty meaningless.

Its good for his confidence though and injuries do happen. If he gets to 90 it will be quite impressive. Baghe jinnah is harder wicket than most pakistani grounds.
 
Every match that England loses to us is very very meaningful! Simple history man!
 
Yes indeed, it means alot. Why do you think that Australia puts out tough state sides against touring sides. If you get beaten by a domestic side before you play the international one, just imagine the blow it'll have on your confidence.

True safehands.

For a while I though you were Arsalan till I realised you must be 20 years younger. Anyway, Bazid ahs been performing for a while now, but doesnt get a chance - and the natual conclusion is he is not wanted.

u are right...bazid is not wanted nor is gul and nor is mansoor amjad and everyone else who is not in the squad are not wanted. only those who make lassi for bob and inzy are wanted!
 
PLease ppl....the squads announced have been only for the first two ODI's...atleast let BW and Inzi have a squad which carries on momentum from the test series..

When the next three ODI's come around, then we can include Bazid

I think with a score here bazid might be able to catch a county offer or something. He is lucky this a relatively week a team so he is the star once again.

i think there is no harm in youngsters perofroming consitently well against touring teams in the first class matches before they given a long run in the international side....every player must earn their keep and this sort of selection policy will only strengthen players and not dishearten them!

bazid should just keep performing whenever he is given the chance

True - though at some point management have to be open and honest with people like him, and say "Sorry chap, we dont rate you, and you wont get many chances"

No point in making people like Misbah/Bazid play A team cricket for years on end. Bazid has made a packet of runs for Pak A over the last 2 years - the most prolific and consistent A batsman by far - way over even Hassan Raza.

What's the point in him playing for the A team anymore? I dont see he has anything to prove one way or other. Either he is good enough, or not good enough to play test cricket.

Management and Burly Bob and Burly Inzi should just tell him the bottom line now. Ditto for Misbah and a few others.
 
This will keep the pressure on the less established Pkstn batsmen, knowing that if they don't perform there are others ready to take their place.

you see i just dont agree with all the conspiracy theories where playes picked because of freindship etc etc
 
Bazid scored a match winning 90 not out off 88 balls............ I always preferred Raza over Bazid but he has been consistent(just like Raza) and deserves a chance in ODI's again. (I am sure he played last ODI we played against WI).

Superb knock to guide Pakistan to victory with just one ball and one wicket left only.
 
i htink bazid will be given a run after the first two one dayers...

especially if we have wrapped up the series after three games then i can see a few youngsters being given a run

Personally I believe its part of the game. Because anything with a selection commitee has bias whether we see it or not. In australia, we see these thing happen alot, from the dropping of damian martyn and lack of chances for stuart law or In england dropping thorpe for pietersen. Its all part of the game. So yeah there hard lucks in the selection process but the player has no control over that.

All bazids duty is to score as he is playing for pakistan and do pakistan proud. NOt some half a** job that everyone regrets. If he does Pakistan proud he willbe noticed and respected. In the end bazid isnt a junaid zia because of the unique distinction.

But did I say conspiracy theory?

I said they shold be honest with him. A batsmen cant be on trial for a few years...if others get slected ahead of him despite performance then management dont rate him.

And they need to tell him that...

Good post. Very valid points.

Bazid and Raza are perhaps those who have not got enough chances to prove themselves. I believe their time will come, as age is on their side, and we need a couple of quality players to fill the void after Inzi and Yousuf.
 
FP who has said Bazid is not going to play for Pak? The reason he is not in the team yet is because we have a very solid middle order and its after the world cup I feel Bazid and Raza will be given a fair run because i'm sure there next in-line after the current lot. All Bazid needs to do is continue to impress and who knows, he may even get a chance before the world cup just like Hasan has impressed and got to play some matches. I for one feel that they haven't just lost all hope in Bazid.

Are you referring to the match in which your man Farhat had trouble negotiating the threatening HK pacers?
