I have been a big critic of Shan Masood and his ability. But the kinds of numbers he has put up lately, he has to be inducted at the top of the order . . How do you do that though? With Fakhar going no where and Imam at least in ODIs has done enough to warrant a continued place . .
With Shan Masood, when you combine his numbers with his fitness and fielding, he becomes quite an asset.

Daddy's Dream on :aag

Needs to be in ODI team ASAP, been batting like Bradman in this format for last 18 months

Great innings by AA also

The lack of power hitting at the death is such a big issue in Pakistan cricket. Even here, any other team would've hit 380 after the platform set by Abid and Shan. Yet they've only ended up with 350. Which is why we need to persist with Asif Ali in the Pakistan team. He's the only one who can hit big. He just needs to work on his consistency and develop a more all round game.

Happy to eat some humble pie, didn't expect Abid Ali to score at more than a run a ball in a one dayer

What a revelation this Abid Ali. Could solve our wicket keeping issues as well.

Guys do not forget that he has been the highest averaging opener in Pak FC since 2015 alongside Fakhar.

If Abid succeeds in Tests then it would be a masterstroke from Inzi as no one has selected him before and he is already 31.

Has not been my favorite , but how can you ignore this guy now. Shaan is forcing his way into ODI squad, but------------------the problem, he has to replace Bhanja ( or bhateeja ? ) which is not going to happen, someone else has to sit out.

I think Shan, Abid, Saad and Shaheen should play from the third test. Shan and Abid look to be in a terrific form.
1 Shan.
2 Azhar.
3 Abid.
4 Haris.
5 Babar.
6 Saad.
7 Sarfaraz.
8 Bring a new spinner too.
9 Yasir.
10 Hassan.
11 Shaheen.

Rest Abbas for 3rd test and he replaces a second spinner in ist test against SA.

Shan is not good for tests, but should be given a proper chance in ODI's.

Shan over Imam in ODIs please. Has Imam made a ton close to the SR of Shan’s today at even domestic level?

you cannot be serious  he is worst in ODIs

Hard to ignore Shan Masood in light of the performances he has given over the last year and a half in List A cricket

Pakistan A won the first limited-overs match against England Lions, putting on a sizeable total of 351-4 before bowling the Lions out for 164 to win by 187 runs.

Somerset's Lewis Gregory captained the side and asked the hosts to bat upon winning the toss but Shan Masood and Abid Ali combined for a partnership of 276 to stamp their mark on the game.

The Lions struggled with strong winds, and the nature of having a big ground to defend exacerbated the problems of an unresponsive pitch.

In reply a number of Lions batters were able to get starts but the pursuit of 351 quickly became unrealistic. The two sides will meet again for the second match of the series on November 27.

November 27: Second 50-over match v Pakistan A, Dubai

November 29: Third 50-over match v Pakistan A, Abu Dhabi

December 2: Fourth 50-over match v Pakistan A, Abu Dhabi

December 5: Fifth 50-over match v Pakistan A, Dubai

December 7: First T20 v Pakistan A, Abu Dhabi

December 8: Second T20 v Pakistan A, Abu Dhabi

Khushdil, Zohaib and Rizwan came onto bat when platform was laid for them and these three are poor against pace. Ammad, Adil Amin and Irfan Jr should have been promoted up the order instead.

I am not saying he is the best. I am just saying, he doesn't deserve to be dropped just yet. He has done enough to continue with him . . I would like him to be doing more . .

But Shan has really created a pickle, cuz his performances have been amazing . . and then you add to that his work ethic, fitness, fielding . . becomes a tough choice!

It shows the incompetence of the selectors when Shan Masood gets picked for Test cricket despite averaging 34 in First Class and 58.78 in List A.

not incompetence, its blatant nepotism by Inzi to pick his nephew Imam over more deserving batsmen in ODIs

No. It is incompetence for a player who has had his best games in List A cricket, to have played 12 test matches despite the shocking performances in that format(In Tests and also First Class Cricket).

Shan's selection In Test matches was also nepotism but the least the selectors could have done is pick him in ODI's instead of Test's.

Although Shan is performing well, I would much rather add Saud Shakeel to the squad as he has solid stats in both formats of the game(FC and List A).

Shan has failed in the test match opportunities that he has been given whereas Shakeel has the potential to stake a claim for a spot in the Test side(can replace Bilal Asif and add solidity to the batting whilst also offering a part time spin option).

It would be much more fruitful to blood Shakeel in than Masood.

Its not Shan's fault that he was selected in Tests instead of ODIs. Its totally selector's fault. If it was upto Shan he definitely would have wanted to get selected in ODIs instead of Tests because he know his game is a lot more suited for ODIs than Tests and thus he has far bigger chance to succeed in ODIs than at Tests. Just look at how low he averages in FC (34) as compared to List A (58) in domestic cricket.

So if we nobodies know this that Shan would be good for ODIs and bad for Tests then why the selectors would not know when they know inside out of this game? Thats where nepotism comes into play. Shan's selection in ODIs is not good for nephew Imam's selection in ODIs as Shan would perform lot better in ODIs than Imam would. So instead select Shan for a format where he is weak (Test) so that his chance for getting selected in a format where he is strong (ODI) also take a hit and Imam can continue. Thats the game being played here my friend; you dont know how corrupt the Pakistan cricket can be

Shaniiii cool down boy!!!!! expect him to come back in the national team and play like he always did in past :dw
