Man I’m tryna see Babar bat today rain please stay away and Babar please don’t get out cheaply!

Hopefully there isn’t much rain. The last thing this shambolic team deserves is to escape with a draw because of lack of overs.

No mamoon there are some azhar ali's fans who are waiting for him to score another century as he is pakistan's best young batsmen who can play 1 good inning in 40 innings

Wonder whether it will take them 3 hours to dry the outfield after these heavy outbursts of rain. That definitely wouldn’t suit england!

Babar has been unfortunate with rain breaks this series, but he is at fault in the sense that he always falters before or after a break. YK must work with him on that

Correction - Their are some PAKISTAN fans wishing that one of THEIR players scores a 100.

Learn to distinguish between true Pakistan fans and those who lurk here to see Pakistan in trouble as it helps their egos.

They need to play positive cricket.
They should open with Azhar, because Shan is walking wicket against Anderson.

It doesn't satisfy their egos, but they are deeply hurt by this team.

He is not unfortunately, he has to blame himself for out cheaply.

All great test player bat session by session so there must be break.

Crawley also bat in rain breaks

I wonder how long our Keyboard Warriors would survive against Anderson, Broad, Woakes and Archer.

I would love to watch Mamoon bat or bowl and we comment on his performance.

NO fan will wish that someone not score runs etc - Yes we can be unhappy with their performance but to wish that a Pakistani player not score runs to show that you are right about him is pure evil, imo.

Absolutely, always boils my blood when I see people wishing on our players to fail so they can be dropped. The whole time they’ll be complaining that so and so is not scoring runs then they go on to pray that the same player fails, so their point be proven. Talk about a paradox they spend so much time bashing a player’s performance then go on to wish that the player fail. It makes no sense to me at all.

Totally agree. It’s shameful that we have this mentality . When Shan scores their was bitterness. Then when Rizwan and bow with Azhar .

Azhar is probably the most hated batsman with numbers similar to his. I agree let’s criticize him when he’s doing poor as he did largely in 2018 and 2019, as well as at the beginning of the series. However, when someone plays an innings like Azhar did yesterday, you have to support him, and hope he carries on. Yeah the last 2 years it seems age has caught up with him and he’s not been at his best. However, some people are acting as if Azhar has a career average of 25 in Tests, and he’s never done anything of worth before.

Azhar is one of the best top order batsman we have had in Test Cricket averaging around 43 with over 6000+ runs in his 10 year career so far, that’s no joke. Azhar is hated on way to much, yes he should never have been made captain, and he should probably be removed from that position. However, tell me what other batsman could slot in at #3 right now in the Pakistan Test Squad and average 43 over a 10 year stretch (he was averaging 47 in 2017 before his poor form took over in 2018) score a double hundred in Melbourne against the Aussies, score a triple hundred, or even score a knock like Azhar did yesterday against England? Yes Azhar has been in poor form the last 2 years, he’s been struggling. However, the amount of hate he has been getting is uncalled for. Instead of hoping he continues batting the way he did yesterday, people are praying for him to fail to prove a point. Criticize someone when there doing poor yes, but to shower a person who’s done so much for his country, and been nothing short of an excellent representative for Pakistan with this much hate is just disgusting.

Really can't understand the mentality of fans who wish for players to not score so they can be dropped, and when they do play a classic innings they curse that player to no end. What sort of termite, brain dead mentality is this? Bottom line is if you celebrate the good times you need to lend support in the bad times too.

Azhar Ali may have just played an innings that has saved the match (in this particular context), saved his own career and has also showed that he still has something to offer in the limited time he has left in international cricket. Not bad for a guy who couldn't hold a bat in has last 3 innings.

Spot on.
Really shows you the mentality of that person.

There are too many ego driven trolls on here that think they know what they are talking about. Many have barely got out of diapers. Ignore them.

Coming onto Azhar I totally agree with you. We will value him when he is gone. Thats how PP fans work.
He has bee one of our most dependable batsmen since his debut, and what a debut. He's scored runs just about everywhere and we all remember a time when PP would go ape on players who would be kings at home and rubbish abroad. Azhar has done it all abroad.

yesterdays innings was a champion innings. A real fighters innings. If only others could have knuckled down but they are facing two of the all time greats in broad and anderson, in home conditions, so lets give them a break.

I hope we can salvage something from this match.

There are a few people who always look at things from a glass half full perspective.

I’m surprised they ever get anywhere in life.

Ouch. Whoever could you mean?

Quietly impressed with azhar in the player zone. He’s indicated that the coaches have been analysing the footage and they’ve been tinkering with his stance and he’s now opened it up to negate the ball that comes back in late.

That’s good to hear. Shows behind the scenes they’re working on correcting their deficiencies and the coaches are looking at the footages to address their problems. I’m happy with that

What's the chances of Abid snicking off with his low hands and shan struggling with the swing back onto his pads by Anderson?

Better than looking at the glass half empty and living a life full of pessimism and depression.

Let's see if these comical openers can stop making the same errors.

How many times has Anderson got Shan now?

Pretty much like all the Pakistan batsmen then — tell me which of our players do you think can handle this ?
Only two have made meaningful contributions — Shan and Azhar.
Babar has been a disappointment, often getting out at crucial times (I fear he lacks the mental toughness required for Test cricket)

Azhar also pretty much outlined how average our bowling attack is compared to England.

Said he felt comfortable and good against his bowlers in the nets but different ball game facing the England bowlers

Just a shame that it has taken 10 years to make a minor adjustment to his technique.

I believe when England decided to bat for 5.5 sessions, they had an eye on the weather forecast. At least 100 overs will be possible in two days - PAK has to save this game on their bat ...... and Babar has his last chance to prove if he belongs to fav 5 or fav 50

Yeah, Azhar has not only been our most dependable batsman in the past decade behind YK, but he’s also been our most selfless. I always look at his knock against India, people like giving Fakhar so much credit and rightfully so but if Azhar didn’t play as fluently as he did from ball 1, we might not even be talking about Fakhar today. Azhar is a champion and deserves way more praise. Look at Root he’s been on a dip for a while now as well, yet he gets no hate. Azhar has been our most valuable test batsman in this era behind YK, and like you said once Azhar is gone, we will realize his worth.

A Test Batsman in the top order averaging in the mid 40s over a 10 year stretch, I don’t think people realize how rare that is in Pakistan.

We've been speaking to Pakistan captain AZHAR ALI in the Player Zone this morning, reflecting on his fine, unbeaten 141 yesterday...

"Very pleased. We are quite behind in the game but, as a team, we talked about fighting through the tough periods and, obviously as the captain, I wanted to be leading from the front.

"It doesn't matter how many I score, so long as I'm fighting in the middle. It shows other players it can be done."

AZHAR passed 6,000 Test runs during his innings yesterday...

"A very proud moment for me, 6,000 runs; the last couple of years have been very tough for me, I haven't been as consistent as a few years back - when I had a run of scoring at 50+ - and I hope this innings takes me back to that again.

"Getting my name with those legends is a proud moment for me."

Anderson already looks tired.

Have to feel for azhar who has to bat again after a marathon innings.

They had to make the decision last night when the forecast was showing it was highly likely to be raining at the time they'd have scheduled an early start.

It wouldn’t harm one way or the other. Just try have an early start and if it rains in the morning then extend it a bit in the evening.

Shan and Abid really need to work harder on their defense.

Anything a touch outside off stump let it go.

To be honest the tiredness is advantageous to us. All those England bowlers, including 38 year old Anderson, had to run in all day and bowl, meanwhile everyone except Azhar, Fawad and Rizwan didn't last 10 minutes at the crease. They should be very fresh

I wish 'Team Pakistan' battles it out today and takes the match to Day 5. Loss or draw taking the match to the 5th Day will be respectful.

I think, Abid’s bat has a wider edge than face .......

Buttler is kamran level keeper

Stop comparing him with Super Rizwan

Shan seems scared to face Anderson. Understandable after 8 dismissals and averaging just a tad over 1

must say this is so so poor..shaan is really awful so is abid ali..how can you nick this on this on this pitch..englands fielding ha sbeen awful

Buttler will cost them huge against India or Australia

Galli Mohalla level keeper

I have never seen a more regulation wicket-keeper catch dropped:

Playing with intent doesnt mean u play loose shots ignoring the basics.. that was a poor poor attempt by shan ..thnkfully buttler dropped it.

It’s not as much about intent as it is a mental thing with Shan against Anderson. He’s in two minds and doubting himself while facing Anderson.

abid ali is making my blood boil the hack....he is throwing the bat at everything you are trying to save a match here then he will apologize to the nation afterwards...
