Don't let a few green parrots delude you; England is a better Test team than Pakistan.

If England can manage to score 700, score board pressure may cause our fragile batting collapse

You have to admire Root's confident body language. One can sense that a world class batsman is at the crease.

Their bowling was no better. In our innings one was a wrong decisions. And 3 wickets were thrown away... If we had yasir our attack wouldve been better in these conditions.

Their pacers are quality, ours are mediocre. They have an all-time great opener while ours are barely Test standard.

Root is the most well-rounded batsman amongst both teams, but yes we do have an edge in the keeping department and a massive edge in spin department. That's about it.

Only way we can beat them is to produce rank-turners; on all other pitches, they are a superior outfit.

I think a Pakistan with younis, misbah, amir and shah is probs the better side.

If Amir can make a successful comeback, then its pretty close but as things stand now, their pace attack is considerably superior.

I feel Zulfiqar Babar is simply not good enough to get wickets he is good for holding job only

Game is a draw nailed on unless we some how implode in 2nd inns when we bat.

Silly Rooooooot, threw away another ton there.

It becomes more interesting as Bairstow with his high backlift does not strike me as fluent against spin.

Our future in Test cricket looks bleak. We are ordinary in two key departments: opening and fast bowling.

Azhar opening could possibly strengthen our opening batting, not incredibly, but would offer more than the likes of Shehzad, Hafeez, and Masood in foreign conditions. Fast bowling does admittedly look weak.

You can make azhar open with babar/shan. Haris can bat at 3. I can promise you in the long term this will solve our opening and number 3 issue. Fast bowling you are right. Perhaps if amir returns well improve. Rahat can be groomed into. A good fast bowler. Needs to be more aggressive and fix his temperament. Honestly ive seen him bowl good deliveries in both formats but problem is he needs to string them together. Also mir hamza looks a good prospect

They should bring back timeless tests for these kinds of surfaces. This would actually be a really interesting match if the draw was rendered impossible by making it a timeless test.

Yes, it's a stupid idea to have timeless tests, but it's just as stupid to produce pitches like these. Something drastic needs to be done to rule out the production of such pitches in future.

Give bairstow the short ball. I remember johnson gave him a beauty. Or use spinner against him

Lol if you actually watched the game. Our pacers especially Wahab and Imran have looked way more threatening than English pace quartet.

In case you did not notice, I am not talking about this match only but in general; Anderson, Broad and Finn are a class above our pacers including Wahab.

English pacers have bowled well, but Bell dropped two catches of Hafeez and Shafiq respectively early in their innings and Broad had Malik of a no-ball.

We are lucky to escape defeat here.

You can't say that. The likes of Imran have never bowled in seamer friendly conditions like England. I am pretty sure he would be handful there. Plus Wahab right now is more effective than the likes of Broad and Anderson at this stage.

wow what a ball riaz . feeling sad for riaz he is giving his 200% in heat of UAE

English pace duo of Anderson and Broad are definitely better in general but we are yet to see Wahab 2.0 on responsive pitches. Also Imran is an excellent new ball bowler so I will reserve my judgement until I see them on English pitches next summer.

Apart from those three catches, the English pacers hardly looked threatening. Pakistani pacers have had so many near misses. Even Cook has struggled largely against Wahab and to a lesser extent, against Imran.
I have no hesitation is saying that Pakistani pacers have outbowled their English counterparts.

I would agree with that. Typical doom and gloom from certain PPers. The death of Pakistan cricket is repeated over and over again yet we keep climibing the rankings in test cricket.

Wahab is a beast, bowling 90 mph in this heat consistently even when he's into his 33rd over. Hats off to this guy. Even Johnson bowed to the heat and pitches of UAE and couldnt really maintain the intensity.

Wrist slitting never stops, does it?

Pakistan also dropped crucial catches. Cook was dropped by Sarfraz. Another catch was dropped by Fawad.

So, your logic goes crashing out of the window.

What Wahab has produced in this match, I doubt any other pacer in the world would have done that. Unbelievable strength, stamina and heart!

Cook had already piled up the runs by then. He wasn't dropped early in his innings like Malik, Hafeez and Shafiq (no-ball).

Not to forget, Bell was dropped early on by Shan at silly mid off.
