Go and fetch Inzi to deal with the short balls. Babar is very good against pace and lightyears ahead of our typical standards.
Youngsta Beauty Goneand this guy was supposed to be our best bat against pace
along with Haris and Chota Akmal according to some PPers
Good luck for 2016 guys, we'll get peppered with bouncers and these blokes CAN'T play it to save their lives....
LOL Azhar Ali showing his true colors
Yup saw the light years difference in Babar today, you do understand that we are playing in Sharjah and he got out to a fast bowler to a short ball
This is probably the slowest wicket we are playing on this whole series and ironically the bowler bowling wasn't even remotely express.
If this is what we are banking on for 2016 then GOOD LUCK TO US !!!!!
How'd that match go, vs. Hong Kong?![]()
LOL Azhar Ali showing his true colors
Still is one of our best against pace. Was an unfortunate dismissal, it was there to hit, but that ball was quicker than the others, so it got big on him.
Lol ahmedwaqas92 is just a knee jerk wrist slitter. Forget it
Pakistan's Game Plan![]()
After 20 overs: 90/2 (RR in first 20 overs 4.5 RPO)
After 30: 140/3 (RR in overs 20-30 overs 5 RPO)
After 40: 200/5 (RR in overs 30-40 overs 6 RPO)
After 50: 280ish (RR in overs 40-50 overs 8ish RPO)
Over all innings run rate 5.6ish.

I can see that being the plan anyway - whether it is executed or not - time will tell. A 280 target will make this game very interesting![]()

Imagine Azhar and Ifttikhar together...

Ifti is a good hitter btw.
Finishing with 8 per over will be extremely difficult with 5 outside the ring, teams need to get going between 30-40. Can't rely on the final 10.
Can someone please explain to me why ifthikhar was selected to play today?

Sarfraz padded up! Good to see him coming at 4
The commie doesnt know anything. Sarf is our number 4
Looks like management read my post about swapping Sarfraz & Iftikhar positions in the Yasir Shah injury thread![]()
What do you call this shot.
Down the track and BLOCK !!!
![]()
Yea thats why I played it safe and went for "8ish"![]()
That - in my mind - means anywhere from 6 to 10 RPO in the last 10haha
The outfield isn't too rapid here and Sharjah is a good sized ground. With that in mind I think 250-280 should be the minimum target we should aim to set. 280-300 would be a very good score. 300+ - pack up your bags and go home![]()
That's workable if you are batting first. But, think about chasing - even 260 target means 120 in last 20 overs with 3 down. That's the main reason PAK struggles so much in chase.
I think, 240 'll make today's game very interesting - these are the 2 most obsolete ODI team; still stuck in 80s-90s.
This was our Modern ODI batting plan post 2015 WC.

If it produces the results - I actually dont mind - and I think today here if Pakistan can do the above, it will produce a good result for Pakistan InshAllah
Not good enough for International cricket. The guy has no concept of strike rotation. Plus he has a horrid technique and cant play the short ball.
Awais Zia smashes them around the park at Pindi stadium as well. Doesnt make him good now, does it?
BIG improvement from Azhar - from 24 (46) to 29 (47)................ at this rate by 2020, he should reach 50 (50) level.
That shot called misbahish block
Do you want strike rotation technique at number 7?

Hafeez channeling his inner Viv.:
Funny i said the same yesterday
Haha yep, Ifti will play at 6-7
Definitely at least 280. This is a surface where you can trust the bounce and play through the line. Even with a slow outfield, England have some powerful players.
Hafeez channeling his inner Viv.:
It makes sense, because Sarfraz is our best player of spin, so playing him at #4, means he gets maximum exposure to the spinners. Iftikhar hit some good blows in the domestic T20 cup so he'll be suited for No. 7 spot and anyway he'll be replaced by Imad Wasim when fit.
The dilemma however will be to fit Babar, Haris and Hafeez in the XI with Sarfraz playing at 4. Unless Imad plays at 8, I don't think that's possible.
The problem is not whether it will produce the result or not, the real question my friend is....whether we can do the above on a consistent basis. Because trust me when I say this. No matter who the opposition is and no matter where in the world we are playing, barring India, 280ish score with our bowling will be defended most often than not.

I'm not sure if batting 2nd will be too easy. Im gonna check the recent 2nd innings scores in Sharjah:
NZ 217 (Lost by 147 runs)
NZ 255 (Won by 4 wickets)
Pak 162 (Lost by 93 runs)
SL 213 (Lost by 113 runs)
SL 313 (Lost by 11 runs)
Pak 151 (Lost by 117 runs)
Pak 182 (Lost by 1 runs)
It's hard to determine a good 2nd innings score from that sample - however, in general it looks like - but 2nd & lose![]()
i feel bad for hafeez.. Azhar is out of form..Hafeez pretty much doing everything
