What did Zafar Gohar do honestly? The amount of turn he was getting he was still getting hit around by the batsmen. I call that pathetic bowling rather than anything else.
Yasit wouldn't've have wasted the turn he got like zafar did.
He is a moeen Ali level bowlerr at best.
Imad wasim is much more superior to him and will displace both Zafar and Yasir once he comes in.

It was his first game. And he was the best bowler on show.

So, because I have been away from PP for a bit, can I have a rundown of the eleven players who are being unfairly kept out of the team.

All the Akmals.
Farhat, Faisal Iqbal
Sohail Tanvir, the spot fixing trio
Then the usual youngsters we cry about. Aamir Yamin Bilawal bhatti Junaid khan,
Sharjeel blah blah blah.
We are always crying as fans.

But he was still easy pickings for England. Saw all his overs. If the pitch wasn't spinning there was no way he would cause any damage.
Would prefer Imad Wasim over him any day.

We're finished as an ODI Team.

There is no hope for the future.

Better stick with playing only Tests in UAE.

Sounds familiar :23:

On flat UAE wickets???? I dont think so. Usually teams keep utility bowlers.
England has almost all bowlers bowling at Anwar Ali pace so why isnt it an issue for them.
The fact is the management knows in these pitches it is better to keep a tall batting order than a tall bowling order. Because batting generally wins you games on flat tracks.
Plus we have the worst tail in the world.

They could swing the ball, but can Anwar Ali do the same Lol. He just bowls cross seam with the new ball, very negative bowling.

Irfan has been the only good fast bowler in this series so far and that speaks volumes about our OD bowling.

I think Pakistan fielders have shown more intensity than the scoreline suggests. The bowlers have been a bit off.

Imad is automatic choice, no question about it.

Really don't think bowling is the issue. It the batting. Modern odi teams should be able to chase/put up scores of 250+ regularly.

Man, how far has Pakistan fallen out of grace since that Aane do series in India? I think 2011-2013 was the best period of Pakistani bowling. Inform Ajmal, Junaid, Hafeez, Gul were a formidable and devastating bowling attack. Even India wasn't able to score 200 against Ajmal and Co, they used to defend a mediocre sub 200 score on consistent basis. Now look at them, absolutely pathetic and clueless bowling with no venom or bite, just plain garbage being thrown and dispatched to the boundaries.

Difference in pitches and conditions. That was a good attack, however, but the difference is not so huge.

Either live with it or deal with it :)

Gotta feel for Iftikhar! His career may go the Usman Shinwari in ODIs! Idiotic selectors we have! He shouldn't have been in the ODI squad at first place! He deserved selection only in T20Is!

No much of a difference, Pakistan mostly plays in the UAE on these spin friendly dull tracks but its the quality of bowling that is letting them down, their batting has always been mediocre but it was their potent bowling attack which made the difference, doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

England batsman must be feeling a sense of easyNess after seeing Zafar in stands instead of bowling to them...

Its actually sad to see them struggling to take wickets in these conditions which suit them the most. The quality of bowling has gone down the toilet over the years, they used to be a formidable bowling force to be reckoned with in world cricket but now look at them, extremely incompetent, inferior and limited interms of talent and skill. Sad state of affairs and worrying times for Pakistani bowlers, their legacy of producing quality bowlers is under severe threat, not too long from now, Pakistani bowling reservoirs will run out and people around the world won't remember Pakistan for their bowling talent. India has a much better attack allround.

Hales has serious issues with his technique I fail to see how he made so many runs against us.

I sometimes feel that Wahab bowls for the sake of seeing 90mph+ on the bigger screen and when people quote such speed it just reaffirms my suspicion.

Sikandar and Botham just did ten minutes of commentary with about two sentences between them.

I was watching the highlights of a odi when England toured Pakistan in 2005...One thing I noticed is that someone like Rana Naved who used to get flak a lot of the times would beat our current "geniune" allrounder Anwar Ali hands down

Our record in the UAE over the past 3 years is only better than our record in England (lost 3/3 in CT 2013). Hardly suitable conditions when the team struggles like nobody's business.

People used to tune in for Pakistan's bowling rather than batting, it was pure pleasure and delight seeing the mastery and magic at work but now its the other way around.

I think Root is now out of the 'vulnerable' phase, looks set for a 50+ score now. Hope I'm wrong.

they did however bought Imad Wasim, i don't mind

But they bought the likes of Jamshed and Shahzaib Hasan who by no means deserve to be bought ahead of other players.

Jamshed had talent in terms of timing, anyone without bias knows that.

It's just he didn't improve his game or technique, especially outside off stump. He can only blame himself because when he was on top of his game he looked very elegant.

Shahzaib was just a pure hack though.

Rana was a gem compared to Anwar. Poor fielder but had more bowling variety than Anwar can imagine, not to mention a better batting technique that didn't involve random wrist flicking.

Roy usually throws it away round about now when hes got a start so hopefully he will do again. England will be aiming for 250+ here.

This commentary combo is like a blind date where both turn out to be first cousins. Awkward silence and stuttered sentences.

Rana was a genuine bowler. Had decent death bowling skills and a fantastic yorker.

But their bowlers hardly conceded or failed to defend 200+ totals, most of their losses were due to their extremely fragile batting line up which seems to have improved slightly but their bowling has gone downhill after Ajmal/Hafeez ban. Hence even if they score 250, they can't defend that total with this bowling attack.

A far better bowler......yorkers....slower bowls and more importantly swing with the new ball
