Unlikely to win it by himself!
Abid ali and shafiq are going to have to contribute big time, as i dont have much hope of anyone else scoring much.
Babar also looks like his struggllng with the SL spinner who got him out, this guy might have babar in his pocket, as babar is not great against spin.

Shaheen, abbas and yasir, are going to have to bowl well for us to win and at the moment yasir is bowling poorly. Naseem needs to chip in as well and rizwan needs to hold on to the catches offered.
All in all, a complete team effort is required.
 
I genuinely hope babar gets a century insha Allah, but he is struggling against the SL spinner who got him out and his struggling against kumara's bouncers, and on top of that the pressure of performing at home after the return of cricket after a decade. If babar insha Allah gets a century, it will be the best one of his career!
I cant see him doing it, but a 70/80 would be invaluable.

Struggling and struggling but still scored 104 notout in first test and 60 in first inning of 2nd test against Sl .
 
Its a big day for Shan Masood. He needs to score to stay in the test setup especially with Imran Butt and Sami Aslam next in the pecking order.

First test there was no pressure, last day of the test and Pakistan had 20 wickets in hand lol!
This test, he struggled with kumara's bouncers from the start and it took the spinner some time to get into rhythm and it was a first day pitch.
I hope babar does well, we need him to do well, but i have seen some ominous signs from the first innings. I am putting my faith in abid ali and shafiq to score us the runs to win us this test.

The guys name is embuldienya and his is left hand spinner and Pakistanis have always struugle against left hand spinners - herath being our nenesis.
This guys only played 4 matches and bowled in 6 innings and has already got a 5 wicket haul - dangerman, could rip apart our batting and win SL this test.
 
Well bowled Shaheen yesterday.

Good partnership from Abid and Shan.

Pakistan should look to get at least 300 today
 
Big first session coming up. Pakistan would like a big partnership here , Lanka will want early wickets to bounce back. Lanka would be batting last.
 
Pakistan need to be positive here and look to score , runs will put opposition under pressure

babar azam don't have any deficiency against short pitch delivers .If he had one aus ,SA bowling attack would have eaten him alive .Kumara is much inferior to starc,,rabada and babar have show no difficulties against them

Babar this and babar that i have read alot of your garbage from past week .you can Carry on your rant i don't have energy to talk to wall

Oh bas kar yaar, watch the first innings of this test, he was hopeless against the short pitch deliveries and was lucky he didnt get out early when he fended one off and it landed in no mans land between 3 players.

Amazing. So just one delivery hurries on to him and he miscues it, and all of a sudden Babar has short-ball issues. Come on man, this is enough. You're like on a mission against Babar. I've seen Sachin and even Ponting occasionally get out to short stuff. No batsman plays a perfect shot on every ball.

You have to give credit to kumara for bowling at 145+ Bouncers to babar instead of ranting about Babar not been able to tackle that Bouncers.
135kph bouncers velocity seem higher then say a straight 145kph Ball from batsman point of view so Naturally 145+ bouncers are not easy to play if Clark and Watson find it hard to tackle wahab 140+ bouncers then babar will Have difficult time Facing that bouncer too
 
Expect Azhar Ali to choke up the whole innings when he comes in. He does it at the best of times so don’t be surprised if it happens now when he’s finished and initiates a collapse.
 
Really enjoying Abid's batting. He's making it look easy. As pleasing to watch as his batting is though, it's such a shame and waste that it took this long for him to get selected.
 
Suddenly our batsmen look like Bradman/Kohli. Pitch must be super flat

Abid even if he becomes our Warner aka Home Track Bully, that would be a huge upgrade for us.

I am throughly enjoying this performance from Abid Ali. He's playing simple and making sure he's in control at all time.
 
Great battle this. Kumara is a good prospect, though. Starting to reverse it now.
 
Just thinking about that Pak-India Test in Khi, hopefully Naseem Shah can do a Mohammad Asif in the second innings.

Mohammad asifs and McGrath’s come once in a generation and not even in every team but literally only one per generation

He looks decent but we can be sure once he's tested in those conditions. I'm guessing bounce might challenge him in SA/Aus.

Regardless, he doesn't have to become a Ponting or Kohli and average over 40-45 outside Asia.

I'll be happy even if he becomes our Home Track Bully aka Warner.

Yeah, just like that test, the wicket has really flattened out on day 3.

Correct, and now it’s a new generation playing. Naseem could have been Asifs son :))
 
Shan Masood is the best player in this team for negotiating the short ball. Plays it with such ease
 
Abid Ali’s cover drivers are just too good. Remember Yasir Hameed in his debut Test?
 
Pakistan lead by 74 runs with 10 wickets remaining.....
