What's new

Pakistan v West Indies | 1st Test (D/N) | Dubai (DSC) | Oct 13-17, 2016 | Day 4

This is what happens when you don't give an international opponent their respect regardless of their standing.

Yes but Nawaz was severely under bowled.

Amir and Sohail havent bowled that much as well as it was all Yasir-Wahab. By smartly managing the bowlers Pak could have finished the match today. But yea it differs from captain to captain. Some are careful and others ruthless.

Calm down.

Most WI will make is 250.

This is in the bag.

Need to drop Babar not ready for Tests.

Also Yasir bowled 40 in the first dig, we need to manage him carefully he's our trump card wherever we go.

Nawaz is just an inposter trying to fool ppers and inzi that he's an allrounder. :amir

Never looked like someone who can hold a bat

Doesn't matter. He's still a better bowler than Zulfiqar "I average 35+ in the UAE" Babar and doesn't have a disinterested and lethargic demeanor in the field.

Having said that, it's very disappointing not to see Zafar Gohar given a chance in any format; a top quality spinner, yet he's rotting away in domestic cricket. Also want to see Asghar, but Zafar is more deserving as of now due to his excellent domestic record over a longer time period.

Lol, wish every single player who averaged 44 in his first Test would be dropped.

He should remain in the squad, best to learn and evolve at the Test level. If certain technical flaws arise, Iron them out, work hard, gain more experience and get better. We made an investment in Shafiq and Azhar, the results are there to see. However, Younis will need to come in for the next test; also a great chance for him to cash in on these pitches and get close to the 10K mark

Zulfi Cobra*

Went out for a jaunt with a couple of friends, return and find this disaster. Why Pakistan Why? :((

Astaghfirulla! @ the video's Zing TV play during the interval breaks

Dude, they are 343-8

Just kidding bro :srt On a serious note, this collapse is similar to what happened with England last time. We failed to adjust to the extra spin due to the wearing pitch then, and the same happened today.

What I mean is that he shouldn't be excessively criticised, he's a debutant and he's done reasonably well in this match - can't expect him to perform like YK straight away and even YK disappears for the majority of the innings he plays in series; the home and away series Pakistan played vs England, apart from his hundred and double hundred he hasn't didn't do much in other innings.

I agree that Babar should be kept in the squad and allowed to develop.

He's looked like a deer caught in the headlights, no way does he look ready.

Yeah, send him back to Pakistan so he can learn better facing the likes of Sami, Babar, Bilawal Bhatti and Anwar Ali in FC cricket; they should help him alleviate this deer problem

Pak won't be losing this, but yes batting has been a bit pathetic, but at least it made the match entertaining in what was otherwise a very boring test match.

Don't care about Zulfi.

We have much better spinners in Asghar and probably Zafar. Latter needs to improve a lot though. Has no control either so not suitable for Tests yet.

I agree with you, besides I think this inning in particular today would have done him a world of good; there's little to work on when you're scoring runs fluently. It's only when you get challenged that your presented an obstacle which you can work to overcome and hopefully develop into a world class batsman. This is the big benefit of exposure at the Test level

There's NO WAY IN HELL West Indies can chase this right now

At the very worst we will draw because if West Indies go for the win we will eat them alive

So declare soon!!!

He's looked like a deer caught in the headlights, no way does he look ready.

Hain ?

First innings he was decent, second innings struggled vs bouncers and didn't really get going. However, are we really going to judge him on one innings, that too in a situation where Pakistan needed quick runs so he may have been in a tangled mindset ?

He should have played like he did in the ODIs, he looked like Raina against the bouncers.

A blessing in disguise. We get more overs to bowl them out

First class record over a decent time period says otherwise.

Wow. That was incredible dumb from Sarfraz. It's the first pitch after the break against a guy who is getting a lot of turn... why not take a few balls before coming down the pitch.

8 for Bishoo, 346 to win. The most pathetic 31.5 overs of batting I've seen from Pakistan for a long long time.

West Indies won't fold over now either. They will take confidence from The bowling performance and take some momentum

Oh well this definitely makes the match very interesting. All three results possible, although West Indies would need to play out of their skins to win this.

really poor batting. pakistan should still be overwhelming favorites.

I reckon Pakistan feel they've got enough so the message was just get whatever you can for the next 20 minutes before we declare.

Misbah's decision will be one of the reason if we loose or it's a draw.

123 allout in 32 overs, not very good from a no.1 ranked team... should get WI allout less than 123 to prove that the pitch was difficult to bat..

I don't expect Wi to be able to last until the end of day 5, however, if they do I think it's safe to say they will win this match.

8/49 for Bishoo

Best bowling performance in UAE ever?

But should be no problems for Pakistan to wrap it up.

Brilliant from Bishoo. You never know with him. Looks pedestrian sometimes but turns it on suddenly.

We have this match in the bag even if we get all out under 150, but i am not worried about winning this match but more about how indians gonna make fun of our lot spin playing ability if we put up such a shameful batting display on this road in our fortress UAE vs a 3rd grade team, that will be epic.

EPIC. HAHA. :yk This was said when we were 19/2. :ma :ma :ma

Misbah's decision will be one of the reason if we loose or it's a draw.

nah.....for a WI win they need an extraordinary effort to score 346 against this pak bowling attack,,, plus the pitch is too difficult to negotiate spin and bounce..
