Pakistan vs South Africa...Day 3 from Centurion.

He had taken a huge stride down the wicket, most umpires wouldnt give that.

WTH WAS THAT YOunis had an explosion with that suicidal run. Imran was a mile away from his crease and we are lucky as hell that Gibbs missed...

We need some good luck like this!

South Africa certainly pick thjeir players when it comes to sledging. They have targetted Hammed and Farhat, both of whom can have 'brain explosions'

Younis gets 2. CLose call, good throw from Polly on the boundary.

In the end good running by YK

ooooo what a ball by Paul Harris to Younis. A well flighted delivery that goes away enough to beat the bat.

next ball sweeped fine for 2

Harris bowling well to YK.

YK seems to be pushing hard at Harris' deliveries.

YK playing the sweep regularly.

I'm also not liking the way YK is defending Harri's deliveries as he is making himself a big LBW candidate

Harris spouts some garbage at YK.

YK should tell him to go get his hair cut.

yep, seems to be planting his left leg down the pitch. He did that against Mont too.

For some reason only two slips. Surely they should have 3 slips with Pakistan under severe pressure.

YK needs to slap Farhat in the back of the head for continually running down the pitch looking for non-existant singles after defending the ball

Nel spouts more rubbish at Imran.

I think this man should be gagged and has mental issues.

91 for 2, deficite now is 13.

exquisite shot from YK. Class shot through the covers for 4

quick single taken. 8 behind now as Pakistan zindabad can be heard from the crowd.

loose drive from IF. Against the spin, come on man concentrate dont throw it away.

Farhat loose with the drive. Needs to concentrate.

wow vicious spin by Harris but it seemed to hit Farhat out of the line of off stump and it goes through Boucher for a leg bye single

Another great drive by Younis and Pakistan are 5 down.

Two overs to go I believe.

hook well in control by IF and with that single comes the Pakistani 100

:14: keep going boys we need big ones from both of you

Pak really giving SAF a run for their money.

But I am afraid that if we win te first test, the same thing will happen to us that happened to India

Asalaam alikum Wr Wb Brothers;

I have just joined the party about 10/ 15 minutes ago, is the cricinfo commentator south african too ? .Certainly sounds biased as well, anyways this is what andrew nel had to say in a interview posted on the commentary thread shortwhile ago.

Nel had said in a interview with Stephen Brenkley, of the Independent about his aggression. " "I am passionate about playing for my country. It makes me so proud, my country. But I've got to show aggression when I bowl, it's part of me, of who I am. The Afrikaans player is always passionate about playing for his country. It's the way you're brought up, to believe that it is a privilege.

"I do sometimes take it too far but you only get one chance, you don't want to give it away, you want to do it so badly. It's all tied up with the Voortrek. It's part and parcel of the way we've been brought up, of our history and culture"

Kallis, Harris and Pollock have bowled some probing overs. Pakistan have resisted fairly well so far, but a long way to go.

Um how do you know....new series new game new team this kind of negativity is unrequired

another very strong appeal but a very long stride and it hit yk in the knee roll, good decision

SAF is clearly pressurising the umps

TOP EDGED BY YK and just evades the leg slip fielder....cmon YK yaar keep it in control

wow, this guy can read into the future. Yaar tell me when I am going to win the lottery?

Oh nervous moments here. Man at 45, so a sweep is risky shot. S.A really applying the pressure.

Big appeal from Harris, YK well down the track not out - correct decision.

Harris jumping up and down like Britney Spears.

103-2

trail by 1 now

Notice how its often the partnerships that look the most like getting broken through unorthodox batting that seems to often be the most successful?

Really getting cloudy now and as Ntini is coming to bowl the umps are in discussion about light

Nel might be passionate for his country but his over aggression will be given the right treatment soon. This rubbish talk by south african commentators about yousaf's record and inzamam's record in south africa and australia will be set right when yousaf will return to trash saffies all around the boundaries to make centuries an inzamam should give saffies nightmare of their lives with countless superb innings in this series INSHALLAH.

Likes of nel and biased saffie commentators will be shut up in submission. INSHALLAH

this session

28 overs

91 runs

2 wickets

3.25 rr

pretty even session but good resolve shown by this last partnership,

Inshallah! Amin sum amin

well considering we were 0 for 3 in karachi..

we are in a similar situation...

probably be end of days play.

well he have reduced the lead (bar 1 run) this is where it really starts - we have 8 batsmen to set SA a competitive total - hopefully we can have a big partnership here to give us that decent total

Thats more than likely end of days play then. It remains to be seen how far Farhat and Younis's patrnership extends on day 4 and a lot also depends on the big man, because after Inzi, our batting is very fragile.

Bhanja the second innings man could have a good innings in him as well. I think we are in a relatively good position, though I would have liked Yasir to still be there

Anyways Allahafiz everyone as I am off to work

Harris is playing his 2nd test match EVER and talking smack if he is Shane Warne.. HOW DARE HE? who does he think he is... .

I SO HOPE HE PLAYS IN THE ODIS .... so that LALA can LIFT HIS DOOFY @$$ DELIVERIES out of the GROUND ..

a much better day overall for Pakistan....i think the first day was even ...the 2nd day clearly belonged to South Africa & now the third day Pak got an adge over SA!

though i would have liked just 1 wicket to fall but 103/2 is also not bad....all we need now is to minimum score in excess of 300 anything above that will be a bonus...Younis,Farhat,Inzi & Akmal will be the key tomorrow...i dont have much expectations from Faisal ...

200+ lead is what we need.
300+ if we are to stand a chance, imo.

Basically we need to bat the whole of tomorrow until stumps. Which gives Saffies a day to get whatever we've got. That way either its a Pak win or a draw. Our bowling is quite crap (bar Asif) so the latter probably likely.

That was an intense last session to watch. Very good, hard fought Test cricket. Neither team giving an inch.

It should be a great day tomorrow.

Agreed.....and than I think it will be the Danish show. With so much invariable bounce and rough...they won't have a clue how to play Kaneria.

Amazing fight back by Pakistan - Please do not throw it away - They have showed character after so many decisions went against them ... It will be divine justice if they hammer Saffies in this match ...The match is wide open

Disagree.

The highest fourth innings total in a successful chase here is 251 for 8. So anything above 200 gives us a good fighting chance of winning this game. The pitch has already started to misbehave.

By the way this has been a fantastic test match so far and a great start to the series. We have fought and matched South Africa every inch of the way and if we had a full strength team I have no doubt we would be on top at the moment.

Today was gripping.............test cricket at its best. Anyone else notice Younis and Harris having a bit of a handbag match as they were walking off? It didn't look friendly for sure.

Interesting. Well I hope that Kaneria does do well here as he is more a fourth innings bowler.

Agree about a good battle - its what test cricket is supposed to be. Great stuff to say the least.

I Agree - excellent day's play. We need to bat sensibly all day tomorrow and game should be safe...
I missed Younis/Harris.. What happend..

Two points.....

1. Good news that the weather is suppose to be excellent for the next two days. http://weather.cnn.com/weather/forecast.jsp?locCode=FAPR

Let's hope they are right.

when they were walking off after close......Younis was mouthing away at Harris and Harris made some sort of hand gesture as if he was dismissing what Younis was saying.
