Not at all. 251 for 8 is the highest 4th innings score in the history of all mankind ever to be scored on this ground.
 
200-220 will be enuff!!...anything more will be bonus...less than 200 we will need a miracle spell from Asif or Kaneria to bail us out!
 
A target of 220-230 would be very competitive.

The way I see it.......


below 150 will require a miracle.
150-200 will be tough and will require a special effort from someone.
200-250 will put us as favourites
250+ will be game, set and match (bar the weather)
 
Hafeez rapped on the gloves, that must have hurt!

Souith Africa did not really make Pakistan play enough. Quite wide of off stump and I think the openers would be happy with that.

A bit of uneven bounce, new ball, you would think that you would want to bowl a bit straighter.
 
A very good session for Pakistan.

Need to build on that session and have another good one now. Come on......wipe off their lead and lose no more than 1 wicket.
 
Pakistan win the session. Taken 5 wickets, and the openers are of to a solid start. Hope we can keep this going for the rest of the Test match.

If we can get started with 50+ opening then we should be able to get a good lead.
 
Its easy to understand that they can't get out but they should at least take care of the RR. It has to hover around 3 and not lower!

The wind speed has picked up in the last ten minutes or so, that will certainly help the seamers but it will bring that storm closer too.

I think someone has to take the attack to pollock... The reason why Indians didnt won the series was they were respected pOLLOCK too muchj.

I know Pollock is a very vey good bowler, but someone has to hit him,... he is nowhere near as fast as he was one time.... We shud look to attack,
 
reading the commentary, it seems like the saffies aren't bowling as short as in the first innings..its mostly good length stuff mixed with fuller deliveries..

Man if only we would have had Gibbs and Prince early ... Pakistan had to dismiss them 3 times each before actually getting their wickets ... Another test involving Pakistan which was decided more by umpires ineptness rather than quality of teams competing ... Have to quicky add though that Rana and Nazir bowled crappy stuff most of the times

If Pakistan can make 350+ in 2 nd innings I will be happy ...Chasing even a score of 250 on 5 th day might not be easy for SA

I think they shud charge him abit, he hasn the speed,,,and overall he bowl one legth..
 
If we can avoid giving wickets to pollock and ntini we cud have a great lead.... In the first inning pollock only took a wicket,,, but to many wickets to Ntinit and Nell.

The openers need to focus on batting, rather than get distracted by potential rain and the intermittant lightening.

Kallis isnt a bad bowler in Sa pitches.. He is a very handy bowler... But on sub continent he is close to useless

Nothing delivery and no need to play ay it.

Fishing at the ball was always going to cost one of these 2 their wickets and it's finally happened. Just prodded at it and Smith at first slip made no mistake.

South Africa generally have bowled too short. Kallis though, being more of a swing bowler found the right length.

Hafees is making me very angry, he is so talented,,, but he is not making runs and in the end it might cost him the opening place....

Farhat who I doesnt have big hopes for is doing quite well, the luck is favoring him,,, soon or later he will get out... just wish he get make a fifty here with all his luck

This is very irritating.. I think someone like INzi or MOYO shud tell him how to build an inning after doing the hard work..
 
40 run partnership ... if we get 6 of these type of partnerships, we are all set ...

Farhat and Hafeez - 41 runs
Hameed and Farhat - 40+?
then probably Hameed and Younis - 50+?
Younis and Inzy - 100+

there is your score of 300 ...

when u take specialist batsmen like a Faisal Iqbal or Hafeez / Farhat .. you will get SLOW RUN RATES like this... they want to just get their eye in... and aren't even good enough to stay out there after all the hard work..

when u play all rounders like a Malik/Afridi/Razzaq ... atleast they can give a GO and get you a quick 30+ runs maybe...

like what Gilchy does for AUS ...

1 - Pollock bowls it in the channel outside off and gets good bounce. Farhat leaves it alone to Boucher
2 - Straight and deflected into the leg side for a quick single by Farhat. Good running
3 - Well outside offstump and left alone by Hameed
4 - Straight ball on a length and defended into the off side by Hameed
5 - Just outside offstump left alone by Hafeez. Some noise from behind the stumps but a good leave
6 - Short ball and it suprises Hameed. Plays a wild hook shot and misses it completely

1 off the over 43/1
 
In order for us to score a decent total, we MUST have two big partnerships, one of which MUST be 100+ runs.
 
the problem with Hafees is that his strike is always close to 30 in test matches, and deep in his mindset he think that he has to do something with the runrate/srike rate, and many times his mindsetup let him down... He has to think I will play with a strike rate of 30 anything above his bonus... when playing test cricket and building an inning strike isnt as important at the start of the inning

well, if he gets out playing the pull shot, he shut get a fine..

I think every player doesnt learning by his mistakes shud get a fine or loss abit of their match feess
