Yeah [MENTION=144551]Geil[/MENTION] will be the first pick as he is quite active and his leg spin will give us good balance. Sadly, I don't know many people who are very active. I do know a few but I am not sure whether they are selected by a team or will be active due to Ramadan. Yes, teams take turns and pick from the list of available players one by one. Some players are expressing their interest to join a particular franchise by asking the captain's to take care.of them.

Once we are done with picking PP players, we would have a separate draft for international players, where their skills will be mentioned in terms of numbers. So for example, if Saeed Anwar has 90 or 95 batting skills, he is likely to perform really well in the matches. On the contrary, Ahmed Shehzad will be having 70 batting skills for example. Same for bowlers and ARs. You have a better idea once the drafts begin.

We can change the roles of players after completing the drafts so there is no point in picking players by their roles. Just let me know a few who were active during PSL, we will pick them :)

If yes then we can even go with 11 PP members in our squad (not saying that we should do it), but if not then that would mean that maybe we will have to sit out a pacer for McGrath and a spinner for Ajmal. There will be 4 players who will be on 85 skill, the remaining players will be on 75 skill including internationals.

And yes, we will play as many PakPassion players as we can in the playing eleven.
 
Your provisional 11 only has 4 bowling options and 4 bowlers can't complete 20/50 overs. We should ideally have 6 bowling options. Also, your suggested 11 has a bit too long batting which will be great on spinning or seaming tracks but would hurt us on flat wickets. A batting order till 9 will do us no good when we finish on 190/4 or something like this. We would need more bowling depth there. We will work out the ideal 11 out closer to the games depending on pitches :)

So if I am batting at #7 that means I will not have a huge batting role as mostly I would come to bat when there are a couple of overs left. I suggest moving Flintoff at #7 and moving me to #8 and making me an Off-spinning Bowling all-rounder. It would provide us a great combination. We will have 3 pacers, 1 Right Arm Off-spinner and 1 Right arm leggie. Dekh lein apne username ko sacrifice kar raha hoon apni team ke liye.

I also have another suggestion in my mind which might not be the greatest but I still thought that I should share it with you. How about we move [MENTION=132969]Da_Future_Knick[/MENTION] to #4 and [MENTION=129922]Smiling Creed[/MENTION] to #5 to have a right-left combination till #7.

Also, how about we change [MENTION=142036]Hamad_H[/MENTION] to a chinaman? That could really help us on spinning tracks and maybe even on flat ones. It would provide us more diversity and will help us in selecting all sorts of team as we will have many options. A combination of [MENTION=142036]Hamad_H[/MENTION] and me or [MENTION=142036]Hamad_H[/MENTION] and @nextover6666 could wreak havoc.

In my opinion, we don't need to change @Canistani_Hero to a specialist medium fast bowler as we already have McGrath, Flintoff and [MENTION=66785]imranq[/MENTION]. Maybe we can make him a fast-bowling all-rounder. Depending on pitches we can play either him or Flintoff or even both on a seaming track. [MENTION=66785]imranq[/MENTION]/McGrath, [MENTION=134789]maddgenius[/MENTION]/McGrath, Flintoff and [MENTION=130124]Canistani Hero[/MENTION] could destroy any opposition on a seaming track. [MENTION=130124]Canistani Hero[/MENTION] will also provide us batting depth on a swinging 22 yards. 1 of me and @nextover666 could sit out when we play at a seaming/swinging track to make room for an extra fast-bowling all-rounder.

Also, depending on contracts which we give to players we can maybe even make a batsman batting in your provisional top 5 an all-rounder. It could give us a handy 6th bowling option but it depends on how good Flintoff, me and @nextover666 will be as a batsman as we can't weaken our batting department on expense of an extra luxury of 6th bower.

Well that was just the squad and the changes I was planning, I didn't say that's the batting order :))

Couple of ARs are enough, one pace bowling AR and on spin bowling AR. We would need specialists especially for test matches because AR base skills are lower compared to specialist bowlers or batsmen.
 
We have six specialist bowlers (4 pacers and 2 spinners). So in test matches, we can play all 4 fast bowlers on a fast pitch, or both spinners on a spin pitch. But our regular eleven for tests would be all the 6 batsmen, the keeper and 4 bowlers (3 fast bowlers and a spinner on most pitches unless the opposition chooses extreme pace or spin conditions when we play away from home). There is no Chinaman spinner in this sim.

For 50/20 overs format, one of the batsmen will.make way for the fifth bowling option. That we can decide based on the pitch.
 
Alright [MENTION=151817]Batsman e Azam[/MENTION], strategy time. Let's plan our team now.

There are 4 Diamond contracts to be given out. This basically increases the base skill of a player from 75 to 85, thus making him a better bowler or batsman.

So we will have 2 batsmen and two fast bowlers on the Diamond contract. That will keep the squad flexibility open so we can have an ideal playing eleven according to the pitch, and also gives us a good balance. This will be a permanent skill increase across the season.

Then there is the concept of boosts, which increases skill only for a particular game. We have 30 boosts to use for the first half (5 each of tests, ODIs and T20s), with a max of 3 boosts allowed per game. We have a concept of a Double boost as well, which will boost both batting and bowling of one player to the max skill (95), but it will be counted as two boosts out of 3 for the game.

For the test matches, we will be using all 3 boosts every game, because the test mace is the most coveted silverware of the lot. The remaining boosts we can use for the shorter formats.

We will mostly have specialists playing the test matches, though all rounders can be considered for increasing batting depth on difficult pitches.

And we can even have an all-rounder with double boost to increase batting depth on such pitches.

For the shorter formats, one of the batsmen from the above test lineup gives way for the additional bowling option that would be needed. Boosts for these games we can plan on the go I reckon, or if you have a specific plan, I am all ears.

Great plan. I would just like to change 1 thing which will be having a diamond #3 or even #4 instead of a regular one, at the same position. We can send your suggested Diamond #2 as #3. Just a slight batting order substitution between the opener and number 3. I mean on a bowling wicket we would more often than not, lose an early wicket no matter how good the batsmen are. We would then need a solid #3 or #4 to make sure that that 1 wicket doesn't lead to a collapse. We don't want to end up being 15 for 1 to 50 for 4. When we will be 15 for 1, our 2 best batsmen will come on and make us survive the rough time and capitalize when the ball gets a bit older. The #3's role will be like Pujara's role in Indian side which is to not lose wickets, and steady the ship through rough waters.


On a flat wicket we can promote the diamond player to opening spot so that he lays down the foundation, for the rest of the team to capitalize on.

Your point of view is also fine but I feel like we can be better served if we use the plan that I have put forward. Feel free to change/improve my plan :)

That gives us solid batting depth and we won't need to worry about losing early wickets too, though we will have our 85 rated batsmen spread evenly across the eleven.

Jinkay aik se zyada abbu hon unko hi pata hoga.
