Bangladesh and South Africa, who have yet to taste a defeat in the T20 World Cup 2024, will go up against each other on Monday (June 10) in Match 21 of the ongoing edition at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

A victory in this fixture by Bangladesh could be a huge relief for Bangladesh, given that they are pooled into a Group of Death alongside Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Netherlands.

Bangladesh should try to win this game considering pitch is similar to Mirpur's pitch. If that is not possible, they should aim to reduce margin of defeat.

Also, New York may feel like a home ground because there are many Bangladeshis in New York.

The win against Sri Lanka made BD's job a bit easier. All they have to do now is to beat the associates (to go to Super 8).

Toss Updates

South Africa have won the toss and chose to bat first

Playing XIs

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Litton Das (WK), Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali (In for Soumya Sarkar), Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman.

South Africa (Playing XI) - Quinton de Kock (WK), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (C), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ottneil Baartman

Athar Ali Khan and the Baseball commentator together would be awesome viewing

PITCH REPORT - It is the third game we are playing on the same surface, once again it won't be easy for the batters. The back of the length delivery and hard-length delivery could help the bowlers as it would be hard for batters to hit the longer square boundaries.

Markram has become a liability on this SA team. Even in IPL, the man played worse than NO.8.

The way to go

Get runs on the board. Stop making your life a living hell by chasing on this
Unlike others say this is a bat first venue as you just need a total of 130 here due to pitch reaction to different deliveries.

New York torturous venue
Bro i dont get it, first people complain about IPL video game pitches, now their complaining about ny pitch were 110 is par? Or other pitches excluding dallas where 140 is par? I thought people wanted a spicy low scoring thriller or an even contest between bat and ball?

Just no pleasing people

New york pitch is doing its things lol It makes all the batsmen look worse than they are.
It's doing its job perfectly tbh. It's showing who's an actual good player and who isn't.

Shadab got exposed on this pitch as well. Idk about rohit but kohli is defo getting exposed on NY pitch as an opener.

Whereas players like Miller, are proving why their so clutch and handy

Right arm pacers much better on this venue as compared to left arm seamers for some weird reason

Probs the angle, this pitch is so uneven, maybe the angle is just better for right handers

This tanzim bowler looks alrite

Almost every fast bowler looked like million dollar on this pitch. ER is crayzy for most bowlers. Bumrah ER in 2 matches is 2.85 !!! Baartman in 2 matches 2.50.

Don’t understand the logic of SA winning toss and opting to bat first in NY, when this pitch eases up as the day progresses.

They would have collapses while chasing anyway. You have to play like a test match here. Nobody is doing that. India didn't do. SA playing their 3rd game. still doing the same mistake.

Ball stopping, keeping low and some deliveries rise up like cobras.

Same as yesterday's pitch.

SA needs 100 on this pitch to win. Already 4 down though.

Same way left handed batsmen look better here.

Among specialist batsman (1-7)

Left handed batsmen on this ground 25.83 avge. 107.63 strike rate
Right handed batsman on this ground 10.90 avge 81.00 strike rate

If BD win today, they should give a gift to New York pitch curator. LOL. This is home condition for BD.

Of all the people SA has somewhat similar pitch in SA. Most recently in the test series they gave an under prepared pitch to India and got bowled out for 51 runs by Siraj

India was some how 80/2 in 10 overs on this pitch and gave it on a platter lol
Pant had a lot of luck in getting to that score. He dared to play all of his ridiculous shots and he was lucky that the ball was falling between the fielders.
India were lucky to be at 80/2. But the luck ran out soon.

They could have had everything at Florida. Florida has sizable Indian population as well. Also a very high scoring venue.

Pitch offers all kind of variation. Bounce variation, pace variation those are natural variations. When you add conventional variations like slow ball, slow bouncers that is a lot of variations for batsmen to react to.

This is not a m ust win game for SA. They can play whatever they want. But this will help Bangladesh immensely.

How comfortable are you with decision to bat 1st here ?

Not a bad call. But once again trying to play like you play on flat track is not a good call. Also unlike Pakistan and India , Bangladesh doesn't have 4th seamer. They could have waited.

NY has huge BD population as well, almost like home support.

I have been to areas where there are just Bangladeshis in NY, (very warm people) although they keep arguing and taking out support for Awami vs BNP lol.

But good to see BD winning

Facing bowlers with hyperextension is a nightmare on this pitch. - Naseem, Bumrah , Tanzim. Batters are always a bit late to pick the late release

BD haven't won yet. SA have gun bowlers. 100 on this pitch can be enough for SA bowlers.

BD will probably lose but let's see.

Klassen doing klassen things. Two card trick worked one more time. Hit a full ball for six. Get a short ball. Sit back and hit it for another six

I think they will make it because Saffers choke more than others and they are due an early choke.

Back to back sixes. Klaasen is taking Rishad on.

55/4 (9.4 overs).
Notice, he didn’t have to do the traditional South Asian dance down the track to gain momentum.

Just used his crease to make the room to power the ball out of the park

Good recovery by Saffers, so far.

Need at least 130 odd runs to make match out of this.

Pant batted bravely. it is said fortune favors the brave. Pakistan batted like cowards and imploded under pressure.

SA - 61/4 (11 overs).

Stumping opportunity was missed. How costly that would be? Miller was the batter.
