Its not true !! Anyone who follows indian cricket will tell you how many matches dhoni won for india. Its true he play very slowly regardless of match situation but mostly whenever india wins he is there on crease. What more a team wants ?
There are numerous examples when he single handedly won matches for india. Dhoni till 2013 was beast in ODI.

The worry is that we dont have a truly explosive batsman down the order. Some one who can hit like 30 of 12 balls in the last 2-3 overs.

That is a myth. Kohli, Raina , yuvraj and Gambhir have won us a lot more games than Dhoni. Dhoni (along with Gambhir) won us the most important one though
