England 526/7

Colly 99* Broad 42*

England should declare soon i recon!

Colly gets his 8th test ton, well played.

Broad gone as well 529/8

I think 550, or 5 more overs or one more wicket for Eng. 22 overs left today and that will give Eng 14-15 overs

Collingwood 113 out to Hinds.
England declares
Eng 568-9 after 165.2 overs
14-15 overs left in day for WI which I don't know how they will get done as there are only 35 minutes left in the day

A tough 45-60 Mins here for W.I to get through.

England will be hoping to get a wicket or two atleast.

Lets see how gayle comes out and plays.

England's total, incidentally, is now 566 for 9 - docked two runs. Swann's six now becomes a four. Anyway - Anderson has the new ball with three waiting slips and a gully - cricinfo

8.2 Harmison to Gayle, (no ball) SIX, drops this short and it's a no-ball ... and it's into the road! Huge hook shot from Gayle, who took his eye off the ball, but it didn't matter a jot. That has gone miles

Gayle gone! Huge blow for west indies.

45/1

Gayle was looking good. W.I need to dig in and lose no more wickets till close.

England got what they needed tonight.

8.4 Harmison to Gayle, OUT, a half-volley outside off which Gayle tries to carve through the off side, but he can't quite lift it over Anderson at mid-off who holds onto a decent catch
CH Gayle c Anderson b Harmison 30 (32b 5x4 1x6) SR: 93.75

Night watchman Powell sent with 4 overs remaning. so They will look for him and get Sarwan in tonight

W.I 55/1 at close

511 still behind. W.I will need to bat pretty much all day tomorrow to stay in game.

Much better effort from England's batters. WI need to hang in and force a draw, too often they win a match and then give up the following one.

This is where cricket was meant to be played in Antigua!

I hope night watchman Powell registers a 50 for WI tomorrow... It would just be moral boosting for the WI lineup

W.I 72/1

Powell still there and causing problems!

West Indies 97/1

Powell could be aiming to break laras totals of 375 and 400 on this ground

52 runs the current partnership!

Harmison was very nearly sick at the top of his run-up, incidentally. And now he's heading off the field, clutching his stomach. It's a hot day out there, England will hope that whatever needs to come out, comes quick - cricinfo at end of over 24

Well Flintoff has taken over from Harmison, dunno what the matter is maybe a food bug. Powell is hanging in very nicely for a nigt-watchman. The pitch is dying. Many of the balls have kept low and have scuttled through. Few yesterday and some today as well....

28.2 Swann to Smith, OUT, tossed up on middle-and-leg with a touch of drift and Smith goes for a huge slog over long-on and he's bowled! Poor, impetuous stroke by Smith having played so well for the first hour

DS Smith b Swann 38 (90b 7x4 0x6) SR: 42.22

WI 111-2 after 29 overs @ 3.86 - trail by 454

Powell this time. has taken more wkts already than Monty did in the whole of first test?

Ryan Hinds the man in. has impressive FC stats. avg 40 with the bat and 25 with the ball.

W.I 132/3 @ Lunch

A couple of batsmen need to get tons here. Intresting to see Hinds come in ahead of chanderpaul and Nash.

DROPPED by Broad of his own bowling, reminded me of the drop catch Fawad Alam made the Kitply Cup Final.

Make it 6 wkts

Sarwan goes for 94 trying hoist Swann out of Antigua.

251-6

Windies now in serious trouble with Nash the only 'recognised' batsman left

Ramdin OUT 1st ball! C&B Swann.

He's on a hat-trick!

251-7

Nash still there, but due to his panchant for slow scoring, not going to change the balance of the match in a hurry.

W.I look they will have to follow on here or even worse be giving a huge lead

still 105 more runs to avoid the follow on. Will be interesting to see if England enforce it if they get the chance. The temptation will be to get the West Indies to bat last.

Pitch hasnt deteriorated as expected.

Its been hot today - I think Eng will fancy a rest and send out the Windies if they dont avoid the follow-on

Umpire Harper has been absolutely shocking this series - as TV umpire and man in the middle.

Taylors no mug with bat but its pretty much down to Nash to get some runs here.

Is this the same J Taylor that played in the 2004 CT final?

Now Flintoff joins in the fun!

He gets Nash caught at slip for 18

278-8

87.2 Flintoff to Nash, OUT, draws Nash into a loose stroke outside off, just following it without any foot movement, and Collingwood takes a comfortable catch at third slip

BP Nash c Collingwood b Flintoff 18 (81b 1x4 0x6) SR: 22.22

West Indies 278/8 (87.2 ov) - trail by 288 runs
16 overs remaining today

Swann gets Benn LBW - and with it his 1st 5 wkt haul in test cricket

279-9

Windies still trail by 287 runs - no way they will avoid the follow on

5 For Swanny hes justified his call up instead of monty!

Taylor C&B Flintoff (19)

Windies 285 all out

Follow on NOT enforced

Not surprised england havent enforced follow on as their bowlers seemed to be a little worse for wear.

I guess england will look to get lead up to 450-500 and then have atleast 4 session at the W.I

The pacy Edwards strikes for Windies

Strauss gone for 14

England 23-1

Strauss out, anderson in and lead is over 300

W.I chased 418 here against Aussies a few years ago!

another stellar day of cricket from England, up against difficult circumstances again! which makes it even more impressive. I reckon another 180 runs in 45 overs, then 4 and a half sessions to bowl out the west indies. it could peter out into a draw because the pitch is hard work for bowlers, but this at least gives us a good chance. put it this way, if we can bowl out West Indies in 4 sessions there, we can do it again when the pitch has worn out a bit more, because such a big lead doesn't tell the full story - that was a bit of a slog for our bowlers.

I think England should look to bat until tea or just before they should have the lead up to 500 by then. I can see a pretty big england win here!

Half a day's batting should be enough for England today provided they don't bat like they did in the 1st test in India!

Edwards has been bowling with some serious fire in this test, a but off colour in the first game but he definitely looks like he's turned a corner recently.

good run rate by england 3.88, lost 3 wkts but that doesn't matter, lead nearly 400.

Disappointing stuff from England.

7 wkts in hand - yet they arent showing enough intent.

Pitch isnt too bad.

Eng just dont know how to kill a game off - dont they want to bury the Windies?

Mercifully Cook is out - Hinds gets one to veer up sharply

145-4

Might see England get a move on....

England lead is now 430 runs

Just doesnt seem right though.

5 sessions remain.

cricinfo guy is probably anxious for declaration. This over he has written down the lead 5 times. I think they will go for lead of 500 and they should get there in one hour (only 66 runs needed and 14-15 overs as spinners are on)

Rain is forecast for tomorrow, by the way, and the wind has suddenly got up in Antigua in the last five minutes. Really gusty and changeable conditions. Rain on the way...
- cricinfo

44.5 Benn to Pietersen, OUT, switch-hit, and that's out! The first time the shot has properly let him down, it turned into a genuine left-hander's caught-behind as he aimed a slog sweep over midwicket but only found an outside edge. Relief for Benn as he breaks his duck for the match
KP Pietersen c Ramdin b Benn 32 (46b 2x4 0x6) SR: 69.56

Collingwood hit a six last over - 30 off 29 for him
Eng 189-5 - lead of 470
52 over left in the day

Prior in before Flintoff

Collingwood has gone too, England being a bit over cautious now.

Broad is in, I guess Flintoff is readying himself for a bowl.
