It rained earlier. There are a few wet spots on the pitch and the outfield. Umpires to inspect in a little while. There might be a delayed start

11 minutes from now, but as mentioned above, there might be a delayed start due to overnight rain.

Thanks, hopefully the heavens open to dry up the outfield faster

Good to hear about the rain. Double A swing kings will rip through WI tail this morning because of that.
:amir3 :asif

The bigger problem appears to be the pitch, looks like some water seeped through the covers. :danish

What on earth :sachin WICB never fail to surprise you, at the very least you expect adequate means of covering the pitch

Looks like water has dampened certain parts of the pitch...Could take longer then we think.

30 mins ago, one of the Commentators (can't remember his name) said that there is a wet patch near the bowlers' run-ups and some wet spots in the back of a length area of the pitch. So ya, it most definetly would take much longer than anticipated to get rid of these spots

Judging by the amount of rain predicted for the next few days, and the incompetence of the WI in keeping things dry, this match seems to be headed for a draw.

Port of Spain it rained the first day, and the remaining days were mostly sunny but with no play possible and India losing its #1 ranking.

Umpires not satisfied in first inspection, another inspection scheduled in around 45 minutes,

This match could well be a draw. This is due to the incompetence of the WICB. I mean how could water seep through the covers

I wonder if they do it deliberately to force a draw.

Some commies in Jamaica are saying that it rained, uninterrupted, all last night and early this morning. Would be surprised if the ground-staff manage to clean things up. And more rain predicted for tomorrow unless the winds change.

:(

No wonder WI cricket Board is in a mess

Pathetic infrastructure

The covers in a local village team are better then what Windies have..

It's 2017 and the game can't begin because of leaky covers .Really embarrassing stuff.

Why on earth are they giving us wishy washy hope that play is going to "resume" when it ain't? Just announce stumps so everyone can go home.

Can't see too many overs being bowled today - not only is the issue a wet pitch but the light deteriorates quicker there too.

Tea will be taken at 4.10 pm and the final session will be between 4.30pm and 6pm.

mighty defensive field set..well done Misbah. We won't miss you.

so he is attacking Bishoo and giving all defensive field like it's 30th over of ODI to Holder. I don't know if it is Holder batting or Virat Kohli.

havent had a chance to watch any of the play as the tv is being hogged right now lol

But I'll catch it later, however I'm not surprised by Misbad defending yet again. This has been the biggest flaw in his captaincy. WI are down, down, down, they have tailenders out there and there needs to be 4 slips, a gully, short leg for the faster men.

you had to watch his captaincy last night when Bishoo launched a six off yasir over midwicket he put a man there straight away..come on it's your best bowler of last 2 years bowling. give him some confidence against a tailender.
