I think Unless W.I learn to bat better with a more postive game plan they will struggle to compete against India (2nd string or not).

There 1st inns in 1st test was just a shameful poke and block effort and 2nd inns was just a wild come out and have a swing! They need to find a balance between the two.

Going back a while i still remember the test wear India flunked chasing 120! v Ambrose and walsh in their pomp! those were the days!

Laxman use to open at that point in time, how things have changed. India had a pretty decent batting line up on paper in that game but sadly no backbone to it.

When at full strength the Indian batting now has added grit and backbone to the natural talents they have.
