They should just bat out 50-60 overs. Too risky to go for the kill with this batting line up.

Bishoo used to land it perfectly before Raina and Bhajji went after him.....Tony cozier

:))) :))) :))) :)))

now is the time last hour before stumps, bright sunshine , tired bowlers, lead over 200 in rem 15 odd overs time to go fast and get the lead to 260-270 once we reach 300 we are done

^ There are 19 overs left, RR in last 10 has been 3.8 rpo. If we keep up the same RR, we should get another 70-80 runs easy, lead of 270-280.

not enough yet FC

some 10 overs of slogging will help here, 50-60 runs more and 270 is near impossible for the Windies on Day 5...

That Fazeer Mohammed guy is very critical of West Indies cricket. I think he is not able to accept the fact that Windies cricket is trash now. :viv

lol I thought he was Indian? This is the first time I heard him commentating. Anyway I don't think anyone will like the fact that their team goes on from dominating cricket for decades to being one of the worst

I think India played bit slow yesterday. Had they added another 50 runs with even by giving away 2-3 wickets more, they might have thought about declaring. Anyways today India should bat for an hour and try to score 70+ runs and then declare after that. They might get 60-70 overs in the rest of the day. Let us see what happens.

India could have won the match had they batted fast and declared in the last session yesterday..This will be a draw.

I don't think India played too slow..
If you go by the last three Indian innings of this series, apart from Dravid, Laxman and Raina, no batsman has scored and on top of that there have been collapses...
So, if India would have upped the rate and in process lost couple of wickets, India would have been shot for a below par score...
This way they cannot lose this match...and since we have an hour of early start today, India can go all out and get those 60-70 runs...and they have full three sessions..
If they are not able to get the Windies in three sessions then they don't deserve to win...
So, there you go....

No dude, expecting a team to wrap up in 3 sessions is asking for too much. A side with 5 bowlers may also find it not the easiest. Effectively we are playing with just 2 bowlers, Ishant and praveen..Lets hope some magic happens today...WI batsmen are quite capable of getting themselves out though, so I am pinning my hope on them :)))

Yeah..But expecting them to score quickly yesterday was not advisable IMO...Could have back fired for us...
Also, since its a Windies line up..and that too...last day..
If DHONI can keep the pressure right from the start and not worry about the score till lets say end of Second Session, then at least we would be happy that INDIA did their bit...Rest all luck :afridi

Yes, good observation. We have seen few times in the past, how India folded up meekly in the last innings, so it was better to go with the cautious approach, since we already are up in the series.

Today, we would need quick 60 runs or so in 45 mts to 1 hour and declare it and let's try our best to wrap WI, though it would be difficult to achieve:(

Laxman should be told to get his ton soon, the moment that happens -DECLARE

Laxman is just so much better than these youngsters :/

Why do people talk abour retirments

MS is showing intent, good to see...Even, if we get all out for another 25 to 35 runs or so, it would be a teasing one for WI...

Koi baat nahin...jaldi se runs marna chahiye aur delcare karna chahiye....Try for a victory atleast...WI is no way going to score round 300 runs in 80 overs today (atleast highly unlikely any).

Love it when commies call it IPL mode when our youngies play their shots :P

Oh my, that was unexpected. Declaring at 280. Well if they wanted to declare at this time, then should have tried to score quickly earlier.

Anyways, good decision. WI will certainly feel that they can win this match, if they manage to play whole day.

Is it the first time when India declared with a lead less than 300?

I haven't seen such an attacking declaration from India before. Well done

WI will be in confusion now as this isn't at all an impossible tasl :boom:

Laud MSD for the decleration. Love it. That's the spirit.
