I think they'll play Joseph/Gabriel/Cummins to try and shock us with pace on a lively deck. Hopefully our boys will wear them and capitalise on them when they are tired. This lot need to bat smarter against opposition bowling attacks if we are to make winning a habit.
 
Gabriel Cummins and Joseph could do well on a lively deck. But Rahane and Kohli may enjoy that. Hopefully this test is more competitive. :)

I think Indian batting is in for a rude shock. They need to play Jaddu instead of Mishra and hopefully our bats will weather the initial storm of the WI quicks. They can't bowl at full tilt throughout the day and can be scored off easily along with the fourth and fifth bowling options . However this is the best chance of Windies to cause an upset. :)

Jadeja is better when there is something in the pitch for him.

Yes but Kohli and Rahane have played pace well in recent times after the England 2014 tour. So I would be confident in them doing well, but indeed this west indies best chance of getting a win it seems.
 
Waiting to see Dhawan break dance today.

If we're lucky, we can catch Rohit shadow dancing too.
 
Will definitely be watching the day's play.

Reports of a lively pitch has increased my interest beyond just tuning in to watch Kohli bat.
 
I sure hope to see a nice competitive game up ahead.

The last draw at Sabina Park was in 1998 - the match was abandoned after 10 overs because of a dangerous pitch. England were 17 for the loss of 3 wickets and some bones at the time of abandonment.

No alzarri. Well holder himself would've missed out otherwise lol. Hope we rip apart their batting lineup in the first session and smother them .
 
This is not an easy track

I heard last 2 times we won here due to Dravid masterclass.

Our batting is thin and we shouldn't collapse on this pitch.

Hopefully our pacers make a mockery out of WI bats.

This is one of those tracks where if we play decent, victory is guaranteed but this same track gives WI the best chance for a victory too.
 
Not interested in WI batting. Hope Rahul and Dhawan gets padded up before tea.l
 
Day off from work. Gonna tune into a day of test cricket. Hoping for a good and competitive test match. :)

Wish they picked Alazzari Joseph. That dude was a sight to behold in the last u19 world cup.. He could have wrecked Indian batsman on this pitch..

He doesn't get the stick any more unless it's people who don't even bother to watch matches and look at his overall record

He won't be remembered as some bowling legend but he's had his good moments
 
If Ishanth was reserved only for Tests, he would have been fit better both "physically" and "mentally" for Test Matches!
 
Even an umar akmal thread hasn't been able to revive Darren Bravo's fortune in tests.

Doesn't he only play test matches these days anyways?
 
Tactical mistake of not playing Jadeja over Mishra. His darts would have helped on bouncing pitch! Mishra needs to turn the ball, otherwise he is dead on this pitch.

Good bounce will help him deceive batsmen in flight.

Hmm... Probably from last 1-2 years. Before that he was tremendously :)) used by Dhoni in all LOI matches! India is starting to play more test matches from now onward, let's see

I think it's working in reverse.

Umar played a great knock just a few days back. Looks like Bravo is the antidote for Umar:uakmal

India have to work it out with spinners (at least in the 2nd innings). Otherwise they will have to bat long (not sure about this Indian batting lineup) on this pitch and suffocate WI in 2nd innings (may take longer time than 1st innings), hence spinners might come into play. If rain and some sedate batting comes into play, we may miss an opportunity of winning this match!

That's why I told he has to turn the ball (turning the ball on non-turning tracks is tough!) What if the ball just pitches gets lolly pop bounce at right height & angle?

Ishant is better than Wahab,Rahat,Imran, and Sohail Khan who are our current fast bowlers on England tour.
 
Why did Ishant's parents bless him with such long legs?

He probably wouldn't have become a bowler if not for his long legs though. I guess it's a trade off of sorts.

Shami bhai mostly has his radar right. He is our best bowler.

But Malcolm Yadav doesn't always get it right. But when he does, Malcolm is a good bowler.
 
Let's see if Blackwood can justify his selection.. going hard is one way. West Indies need runs!
 
Terrific bowling and horrible batting.

Can't complain though. Lively start.
 
Superb start from Indian pacers once again.

Need the wicket of Marlon before lunch break!
