This thread is more of a prediction thread so we can see how accurate we all were when the election comes around.

The three main parties are:
PTI
PML-N
PPP

PTI won the last election quite easily and Imran Khan was elected the PM of Pakistan.

According to the Roshan Pakistan survey, PML-N is the current favourite at 30.8%(albeit by a small margin). While PTI is at 29.1%. But this is always subject to change as we're pretty far away from the election. The survey was conducted in Feb 2020.

Also, Roshan Pakistan were accurate with their predictions in the 2018 election.

Another important question is when will the election actually take place?

IIRC, no Pakistani PM has ever completed their term due to various reasons such as corruption charges, coups etc.

Will Imran Khan be able to complete his term?

Too early to tell. Still 2.5 years to go.

3.5*

I feel like this corona came at just the wrong time for PTI. They had turned around the economy and the indicators were improving since the beginning of 2020, it was only a matter of time before they win back their disgruntled voters. Then it all went south because of corona.

I think PTI may not be able to win majority next time.

iA this corona mess gets over sooner rather than later. You're spot on about the economy. We will take a at least a year now to get back to the level we were on a couple of months back.

How many of the folks who voted for Imran Khan would vote for him after he let Nawaz Sharif run away?

Talk of blunders, after spending the better part of half a decade raging against him.

Don't think many people actually care about that.

They're just happy that IK is in power.

If IK loses the next election, it'll most likely be because of the economy.

Our GDP growth rate is at 2% right now and after the coronavirus outbreak, it's not gonna get any better

Modi will visit Pakistan again to take Nawaz Sharif Mother wishes if Nawaz Shariff win next time :)

Goes to show how much of a regional party PML-N is, even the projections are saying they won't manage more than 1 seat outside of Punjab.

Rest of Pakistan rejects regional party. Punjabistan na manzoor.

Also even if PTI doesn't win majority seats JKT will just buy out the independants and lotas and make PTI the largest party. Karlo jo karna hai :afridi1:amir2:viru

You're sounding like a separatist.

Are you one of those Sindhudesh people?

So accepting Punjabi dominance is akin to being a separatist? Will you be ok if MQM formed the central government despite winning zero seats from Punjab?

You do realise Pakistan was split into two because of this exact reason?

Mujibur won nearly all the seats in East Pakistan hence gained a majority but was not allowed by the West Pak government to become the PM because of the exact reason you stated. Mujibur won nearly zero seats in west pakistan.
But he still deserved to become the PM.

Punjab makes up half of Pakistan in terms od population, you have to accept that.

The same scenario applies here

As far as the MQM thing you said, i'd accept it coz that's what the people want.

You son haven't lived a day in Pakistan, don't give me lectures about what is right or wrong for the country. PML-N is a regional party and don't be surprised if the rest of the three provinces openly go against the center (while remaining within the confines of Pakistan) if Punjabi Muslim League forms government in 2023.

Looking at the divide between the three main provinces:
Punjab
Sindh
Balochistan

I'm actually fearful of where Pakistan will be in 20 years time.

Punjab supports mostly PMLN-N
Sindh nearly all of it supports PPP
Balochistan supports neither really

There's no unity.

I was born in Pakistan.
Albeit i've lived there only three years, i know how the system works.

So you're suggesting Pakistan may disintegrate if PMLN wins the election?
Coz it's kinda mutually exclusive for them to openly go against the center AND support the country as a whole

The East Pakistan scenario fits perfectly here.
You have to respect the majority

The economy will decide, but IK has led from the front in this, SS came back to free MSR and hide behind a mask in front of a gaming laptop. Bar Central Punjab the Nooras have nothing, they mirror, the Billo party in interior Sindh.

PTI will win, things will change in the next 6 months in shallah. Still 3.5 years to go!

But the 65% was before any decisions were made. Its bit like the Nooras borrowing trillions to avoid making any decisions and trying to stay popular.

Perhaps.
You never know what can happen in 3 years.

But PTI have been extremely unlucky.
We're nearly bankrupt, not coz of IK but the blame, if we default, will be given to him

I'm a PTI supporter but Corona surely is turning the tide against them. The economic indicators were also returning to normal before this. It's really a shame. Imran is not doing enough.. tough decisions have to be taken regardless of what populism dictates. That's what strong leaders do. Having said that, it's not as if there are other better leaders waiting out there.

What would you like him to do?

If he takes strong decisions it will affect our ecomomy heavily

If he doesn't then people will criticise him for that too

It's a catch 22 situation

If the current position is 0, and if somehow in the next 10-15 years, Pakistan achieved 5% improvement in providing quality of life to its average citizens, that would be some progress. By the same token, citizens in the rest of the world will be enjoying electric cars and whatnot.

That's the thing.

Improvement is always relative.

If we're a 400-500 billion economy while the gap between us and the others increased in those 10 years, did we actually improve?

The thing is that these people don't have the fate of millions in their hand. I have no idea what they want.

Posters in this thread seem to be out of touch with reality. PTI will gain more seats than 2018. They won't need allies to form government in 2023. PMLN is finished and PPP is almost there. Anyone who thinks that Maryam or Billo will ever become PM are living in dreamland.

Shehbaz will be running for PMLN i think.

Well according Nooras SS has a deal with the army
They are a bunch of no good immoral pieces of you know what
So I wouldn't be surprised they have no dignity democracy, democracy and at the same time licking the army's shoes

On the 25th foundation day of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Prime Minister Imran Khan has pledged to hold free and fair general elections with the help of electronic voting system in 2023.

“We are introducing state-of-the-art electronic voting system and will ensure free and fair elections in the country so that losing political parties couldn’t allege rigging,” he told the party workers in a televised address on Sunday.

The premier said the rampant corruption has destroyed the country and added that no nation in the world can proposer unless it roots out corrupt practices especially of its ruling class.

The Kaptaan introduced neutral umpires in International cricket against Ind in 1989, and changed cricket forever, IA this move will stop elections being rigged forever..
