Moeen Ali didn't come out at No 6 as he was in the nets![]()
Only jimmy can stop kiwis no...broad is hopeless ishant sharma type don't know much about wood moen bhai is mediocre to say the least
Aus should back themselves to white wash Eng in England this time
I expect poms to lose all 7 test this summer ...only jimmy and root can stop this from happening...
That would be India surrendering to ATG spinner Moeen last summer.
Do england have a 90MPH bowler?
Quite a baptism of fire for Farbrace (who, for those too young to remember, was Middlesex Seconds keeper, and only got a FC game when Downton was on England duty).
McCullum really does over-bowl his strike bowlers in every form of the game.
He'd get more out of his quicks if he rotated these three at one end after the first dozen overs and used Anderson and Craig as stock bowlers at the other end.
Was getting all exciting about NZ being on top then i heard Shane Warnes voice enter the commentary box.
Has this pitch is been replaced by english management during drink brake or just the case of change in approach of english batsman, but such a contrasting outcomes?
Stokes is showing why he and not Moeen should be the #6. His counterattack has caused the the Kiwis to abandoned their full length and they are trying to blast him out instead.
This is why test cricket is best!
Craig takes his wickets at 42 in First class cricket. How come Vettori isn't playing?
Root is yet another excellent English batsman who will be ruined by the rigors of captaincy. Hopefully he bucks the trend now.

Probably true. They all seem to lose form and become mentally exhausted, over the last twenty years anyway. Root is the #5 so that might help him with form - unlike Vaughan, Strauss and Cook he won't have to face the new ball.
Do you think Root will continue to play at no.5? I see him as the next opener for England after Cook retires..
If this is the best, I'd hate to watch the worst.
Mediocre losers who can't hold a bat getting destroyed by a better team. What's there to see? Batters poking and prodding interminably and getting dismissed nonetheless. Sheer incompetence and nothing more.
Root, Stokes & Butler ...3 guys holding the England line up together again and again.
Chef's got five years in him yet, and Root the opener got found out a bit by the Aussies. He's got a test match 180 against them but a lot of low scores too. England have been looking for a steady partner for Chef since Strauss finished but Root has stayed, um, rooted at #5 for eleven tests now.
What is happening in the dressing rooms now..... has Mac calmed his bowlers down? Is Chef exhorting his men to continue their counterattack?
Are people in here really telling McCullum how he should use his bowlers?
Hes been pretty successful with his methods i would say.
Yes. I am doing exactly that.
McCullum has not got a particulalry good record of using his bowlers. He overbowls them up front in both Tests and ODIs and their effectiveness diminishes quicker than you'd expect from the ball losing its shine.
What Root&Stokes can do here is clobber the spinner, to put pressure on McCullum to overbowl his three quicker men.
Stokes will undo all his hard work when he comes to bowl.

With Moeen and Buttler still to bat, England should be aiming to score another 240 in that time, so the second new ball would arrive at 380-6. Of course it won't happen simply because they haven't got enough wickets left.
