India will be too good for them, msd is a genius captain in odi cricket :msd
 
See off Southee he will only have 3 overs left after this.
This pitch is still swinging by the way. No ways chasing will be clear cut here

Yes he is a wicket taker and a slightly better version of Ryan McLaren (the bowler)

BD has only two seamers in this match. That's what commentators were saying.
 
Get to 200 in 40 overs without losing a wicket and we are up for a very good match with 290-300 on board

That wicket of sarkar was unnecessary, they should save wicket for the last 15 overs.

Lol, not really.
I want to see you guys chase a decent total even though the opposition is not ideal.
Australia, NZ and India have not chased anything against the good sides which has been a slight disappointment.
I'm still not sure were teams stand, Sri Lanka do look dangerous though and are not going away anytime soon. They have chased well.
 
Wasn't this Riaz guy a bowler who can bat when he arrived on international scene? now he looks like a specialist bat who can bowl a few overs

SL is probably the weakest bowling unit though. They gave 300+ against all non-minnows.

He was a hitter who could bowl every now and then. He has bowled well against Pakistan though

yes i remember that match Pakistan was dismissed at something like 170 he took 3/4 wickets and scored some runs too but we defended that total thanks to all the spinners lol not a single wicket for pacer all wickets were taken by hafeez/ajmal/abdur rehman and malik i think

That would be shocking and disappointing.
Against England Mortoza looked to attack with the spinners initially and looked bowl the quicks out. But when he saw the quicks were taking wickets he changed that strategy. So the quicks won them the match.
Why would he change that strategy? In NZ of all places (3 spinners)?
That's horrible,i might as well go to sleep

mortaza is injured today and sakib is the captain so one specialist pacer is missing

Yeah, but we have a tendency of tightening up.
So chasing won't be easy even against a lolly-pop attack.
But I do fancy our chances against them. Ironically i wanted to play them than England to be honest.
I wanted a non bowling side to ease some of the pressure (on our batsmen) and break our hoodoo in KO' and they provide the best opportunity.
 
Powerplay taken early. I hope its a means of a double bluff to force McCullum to bowl his best bowlers out.
And not attack, but Shakib is attacking I'm not sure if that's clever with so many overs left.

If we win first knockout then I think freeze mentality may be over and we will go all the way. One thing going for SL is venue. Sydney is the best venue for the bowlers they have.

Yeah I know, and I think people are overrating this aspect IMO.
If the pitch assist spinners then Tahir has a bigger role to play and gives us an excuse to play JP who will be useful against Sanga should he look to over impose himself on what will be big grounds.
If the pitch is abrasive we might get a hint of reverse swing as well.


Anyway this game won't be played on a raging turner, this is not Asia.
 
Bangladesh have shown why they are minnows.
They are facing the best attack in this tournament, and they look to over impose with so many overs left?
They'll end up with 50+ shot had they played sensible cricket.

It won't be a raging tuner but useless bowling will become less useless due to venue. I feel we should play JP for sure. Just an additional cover and he does sometime pick crucial wickets in middle. Not sure about opening here. I am all for giving chances but one opener with so low confidence in knockout looks bad to me.
 
barbie girl also takes a wicket so this afghan match is a good opporunity for barbie and clouderson to fix their numbers and data
 
Seems like Southee's bowling battery got expired after his 7-fer against the Out of form England. Recharging options too don't seems to work out :sree

seems like bangladesh has no answer for anderson. A bizzare match where corey anderson is much better than southee.
