Dont diss Inzi. He was our best fielder in the Windies series!

he actually made one diving stop and PCB chairman gave him Best Fielder award. Inzi said he is surprised!!!!

dont worry guys
its probs for the best todays match is rained out

we might lose cos d/l normally favours the side batting 2nd

then sunday we whoop their ass

Let the game get called off... knowing our players running about on a wet field they probz
get injured again and we dont need that before the world cup !

Raining again. 180 in 29 overs for SA though.

Doubt we'll get it. Storm coming in big time.

play starts in 10 minutes, pak shd bowl the overs as slow as possible as more rain on the way in one hour.

What the hell is wrong with you?! I have been observing your posts and its all been about how Pakistan can avoid defeat if rain arrives blah blah blah. I for one want this match to go on so that whoever plays well earns a well-deserved victory. It is really frustrating when rain prevents results from happening as the hard work of the teams just goes down the drain

I still can't see how Pakistan cannot win this. Its an evenly poised game now with us making close to 250. I dont want rain to interrupt this match even if Pakistan lose

We cant win it...Rana will come on and his 1st over will go for 184 and that will be the end.....

South Africa require 180 from 29 overs which means a required run-rate of 6.20. Not really taxing but with the lights on and the wet outfield, it might well be pretty tough for the South Africans

How u misunderstand me. This wet outfield is too greasy and very dangerous for the fielding side to take the field specially ahead of the WC. Even Alan Donald is saying that BW is very concerned on this issue. Besides D/L is not very fair to the side batting second.

Its quite fair right now. Req. RR of 6.20 isn't what you would call unfair would you?

Another case of stats being misleading. His entire stay at the wicket, except for may the cut four four and the other four to midwicket, was very un-inspiring.

Whats wrong with uninspiring 'run a ball' inngs - Pak could have got to 300 if the others had been uninspiring???

it's ezier for them, boy. wet outfield will be big problem for our bowlers. when u can't grip the ball, the ball will be flying everywhere.

21.15 local time The pitch inspection will be in another 35 minutes time. Arrgh. Groan. But that's that. We have to twiddle our thumbs and wait .

21:20 Local time now.

Some funny stuff on cricinfo---
And Falak is singing. "This scenario reminds of the lyrics of a ridiculously bad Anu Malik song: "dekho baarish ho rahi hai..it's raining...mera dil ro raha hai..my heart is paining" Pathetic song, but unfortunately very apt!"

yeah. I remember that song. Awful. Absolutely awful. And for reminding that song, you need to be made to watch it. Again and again.

I know in England they also cover the bowlers run-up during rain. Why not here. Very dangerous for the bowlers !!

By uninspiring, I was referring to uninspiring in confidence. If you watch his innings, you'll see all he's managed to do is dibble the ball to Gibbs at backward point time and again. Or knock it back to the bowler. Short on mathc practice maybe.

Boucher the idiot took the stumps out after winning. Too bad you guys choked in the semis. Morons!

There is a very simple solution to this. Cover the whole field during rain. Nobody is effected and the game can restart as soon as the rain stops.

3-24 off 10 for Azhar...Well bowled....

Azhar was simply magnificent throughout the World Cup. IIRC he also picked up a 6-wicket haul versus the West Indies in Pakistan's opening match. What a spell that was!

Boucher is the original idiot....

He looked really stupid doing that, I swear! It was just a super-six match for God's sake. Calm your rear end down moron!

He did not pick up 6 wickets in the World Cup. That 6 wicket haul was at Sharjah.

Target: 180 in 29 overs..........Rain starts again..........If match not start in 35 mins...match will b abandon.

Ah! My bad. He picked up 3 wickets for 47 runs Vs the Windies in that opening match

Here's Azhar's bowling figures in the World Cup '99

84 overs 4 maidens 348 runs 13 wickets average: 26.76 bowling best: 3-24 - - strike-rate: 38.7 economy: 4.14

That South African team was pretty amazing, Klusener at 8 with Boucher coming in at 9!

Has the rain stopped? Its awfully close to the cut-off time now. Match is likely to be abandoned if rain continues on like this

Moyo and then Shahid Afridi with his 77 n.o. and 3 wkts should have been the ones in the running for man of the match award. Not some idiot who hungers for the captaincy by throwing away his wkt time and time again when the team needs him at the crease.
Although i dont believe he was the man of the match...I dont know why u upset...he did well in that match. Whats your problem?

Kamral Akmal is a spent force

When is Bob Woolmer and his gang of advisers ever going to accept that Akram is not only an undependable batsman, he cannot keep wickets very well either.

If Pakistan is hell bent on selecting him for the WC without quickly grooming some other more stable candidate, they're not going to make it past the qualifying rounds. Jeez...Younus Khan and Kamran Akmal? Two clowns on the same field together...!!!
