Arsenal FC | 2023/24 Season

I am still waiting for you to reply to my previous post. When can I expect a reply if at all??
Let me explain to you nice and slow so you can understand.

This is an Arsenal discussion thread.

You came on here to try and troll on big away games and you failed.

You then change to talk about Liverpool winning most trophies in English history.

1) why would such a subject be discussed on another teams discussion page?

2) like I said before, no one cares about who has won most trophies in history.

3) the title of thread says 2023/24 season so again what has number of trophies won in history got to do with it

You want validation on liverpools history with trophies. Go do it on the Liverpool thread.

Guys you are just ruining this thread with personal attacks. No more such stuff would be tolerated.

Pep is better then klopp thats a fact.

Fergie is an all time great manager. When did I say wenger was better than fergie? Again making up stuff.

Vast majority of managers are inferior to fergie or Pep.

Where did I say you said Wenger was better then Fergie?. Quote me that comment I supposedly made? Rather you are seeing things as always? Let me spoon feed you as always. You said Pep was much better then Klopp so I reminded you off the difference in budget between the two clubs. I also said Man City are under investigation and could be in serious trouble. I said if relegated Pep will do a runner. Then I said that Fergie's Man Utd did not have a massive transfer budget advantage over Wenger yet tanked him for all those years. Can you see the difference?

You brought up the whole wenger and fergie thing in 1st place 🤣. It was a lame attempt at a dig by you because your feelings got hurt because Pep is better then klopp.

Pep proved himself at Barca. Go look at his achievements there or at Bayern, those achievements out weight klopp.

I need to be fed anything by a clueless fan whose crying victim as usual.

That is what really gets to you, right!!?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Crying victim over what and where??. Pep was helluva lot successful then all Arsenal managers combined that much I can guarantee!. When are Arsenal gonna win anything for a change??:love::rolleyes:. Fans of a club starved of success talking about Football is really!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So now your comparing klopp to wenger? So yet another change in comparison

Starved success? 🤣 Liverpool have won 1 league title in last 30 years.

Comparing Klopp to Wenger?? Again whose trolling now!! Even if both were mentioned one is Liverpool's current manager and the other your ex who never won the UCL in 22 years!!. I mean, really :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: . Wenger was no way near sir Alex, he is not even fit enough to walk on the same street as the Scot. This despite Man Utd being under no fair play investigation by the authorities that time. Man City have cheated there way to success that will be proven in court. Now you know exactly what the difference is.

See Arsenal fans :cry::cry: when they are repeated mocked for never having won the European Cup/Champions League. No doubt, it gets to them!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: This is where it really hurts them that you can hear their screams!

Liverpool have been winning other tournaments despite having won only one EPL in 30 years. We start the line everyone else stands behind us.

Pep is better then klopp thats a fact.

No doubt about that. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

Also, I'm pretty sure Pep would've taken Liverpool to the top 4 last season with the same squad that Klopp had.

Less see Pep work on a far lesser budget. He is a cheque book manager.

Please, do not get involved in any personal conflict here. Keep this thread running with topic-related posts. All irrelevant stuff will be removed.

One of the greatest posts in PP history. Zero ball knowledge right there.

Szobo has been injured on & off , his skill & talent is superior. Usually it’s sensible to wait before a player has completed one season in the premier league . Szobo is better all round , Rice is good but In the years to come we will see Rice another overrated English player .

Let’s get back to Arsenal . I’m still confused if you believe Arsenal will come 2nd or win the league? Arteta still has a very dusty cabinet in his office .

10 matches to go , the business end . Will Arteta & Arsenal bottle it again or not ?

Pls post your predictions for each of the remaining fixtures inc v Bayern ? 😎

Delusional to say the least.

Pep changed football and is the greatest innovator of all time. There's a reason why all the other managers, including Klopp, try to copy him.

This is why Pep would get much more out of the Liverpool team than what Klopp has during his reign at Anfield.

If to you Klopp's style of play is similar to Pep's then go and watch tiddlywinks! . There is a massive difference in how Liverpool play compared to Man City. You obviously don't have a clue about Footballing tactics. Why are you ignoring the transfer budget of the two sides? Despite that massive advantage Man City have Liverpool are still above them in the EPL table.

Arteta on Kai Havertz as centre striker: "Kai is a constant threat".

"He can threaten you in behind, he can come to some good spaces and provoke a lot of issues positionally for the opponent", told Sky.

If Arsenal have really learned from previous years of title races and if Arsenal are clearly above a level in comparison to previous years then they must step up today and come away with a win. Worst come worse, a draw. Anything less, is a massive L and you can safely say same old Arsenal.

Manchester City are without 2 key defenders - they aren’t exactly in top gear form. It’s games like this you need to achieve points.

Key players need to step up who always go hiding in such games. If we do not gain points then you can say Arsenal are not good enough to win the title.

100% spot on "progress" needs to yield end results and trophies. End of season pressure needs to be overcome

Feels like a rubbish day

I recon Arsenal are going to get pasted today at the Etihad, and our title campaign will come to an end

Outstanding defensive performance today. Shame we didn't have a more clinical striker then Jesus. This guy cudnt finish an Easter egg if he tried

Luckily Arsenal are not Pakistan cricket.

Take the point. Defensively brilliant.
Not much going forward but I feel this was a must not lose rather than must win.

4 points from pool and city this season. Credit to the team

We are in the race and it's April. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thought Partey looked good when he came on. Tomiyasu on the whole was decent to.

Referee was odd. But odd for both teams.

At least the sequence of thrashing at the Etihad is over.

Also I don't like to think about last season to much but all I'm gonna say Is William Saliba...

10/10 performance from Arsenal's in defence to stop City's run of scoring in each of their last 57 consecutive home games.

We just need one of those chances from Jesus to stick. Trossard also had a great opportunity at the end of the game to cross it in to Martinelli, who I'm sure would've had an easy tap in.

Saliba and Gabriel were superb. The Frenchman deserved to be MOTM.

Partey and tomi did well when they came on.

Just disappointed are forwards were so poor at holding ball up, the scraps we did get were wasted.

But if we keep defending well it gives us chances to win games.

I enjoyed Gabriel shithousing and throwing haaland the pitch today. Proper defending

Referee did well not throwing his cards around

But but but Arteta is a clueless fraud who has no answer to Pep’s tactics 🤡

Could have won this game too bro.

Arsenal not passing the ball at the right moment in the final 3rd a few times

I wish Trossard squared it to Martinelli. Would've been an easy goal for us.

Odegaard missed one big chance too to have Arsenal 2 players on goal against the keeper. The guy plays football like Babar bats as a T20 opener

I'm glad you see it. I don't know about you, but I think he's a little bit overrated.

My predictions for remaining Arsenal games .

Win v Luton
Draw v Brighton
Win v Villa
Win v wolves
Win v Chelsea
Loss v Spurs
Win v Bournemouth
Draw v Utd
Win v Everton

7 Points dropped

If Real Madrid didn’t want to keep him, it should tell you a lot.

He’s a good player against bottom 16 sides. Never really see him control or dominate against the big sides or high pressure games. Even against Porto, he was in their pocket most of the time

What a borefest. City clearly without Gundogan and Mahrez lack that quality against the better sides.

Arsenal took a leaf out of Morinios teams. Parked the bus.

This city side was there to beat . Liverpool should have beat them at home .

Arsenal have the toughest fixtures imo . Can’t afford to drop points in the next 2 matches imo

Gotta say Odegard was atrocious today. Ars fed on scraps and then that guy attempting outside of the boot pass which barely travelled 10m, then a fancy dink when a normal pass would have found the 2 players on the run, a pass hitting Rice's back 🙏🏻.. He is a liability in scrappy games.

For once I didn’t really see De Bruyne run rings around our midfield and defence. Well done lads

Soft player

Not on that Elite PL attacking midfielder level

Well, the £90m spent on Rice was worth getting this 1 point and not a drop of 3 points from the title race. I thought he was excellent

Fairs.

So you have us dropping points in majority of our away games left to play eventhough we've been quite solid away from home?

I think it's a good prediction by the way. After watching Brighton today and this season I think we will beat them. United are united. Spurs is the real tough one.

Wished a fully fit Partey played the full game today. That guy is a different class. You cud see the diff with those touches to get out of tight situations as if he is out for a jog.

Tbh most of our attack was ineffective. Unfair to single individuals out for the sake of agendas.

My 2 biggest issues with him are his lack of physicality and he's mentally weak - which makes the Babar Azam analogy of yours perfect. He's very easily muscled off the ball and he has a habit of sh1tting himself when the opposition players are on to him.

His weak mentality is evident by his performances in the pressure end of the last two seasons, when Arsenal bottled top 4 and the title race, and also he's been poor for Norway. On the big stage, when the stakes are high, he gets exposed.

Like Babar Azam, he shouldn't be captain.

Arsenal's chances of blowing teams away hinges on Saka. If he isn't on it, like today and also in the second leg against Porto, Arsenal either end up not winning or scraping it.

But we have been saying for a long time that Gabriel isn’t a clinical striker or finisher. He’s ok, but not the kind of player you need to win the PL and compete in the Champion’s league top 4

Yes. I dont think Arsenal will win it, they have a tough run in and the champions league fixtures will play a big part.

It's all in Liverpool's hands.

TBF, there are no decent strikers who come cheap. A major chunk of transf budget will be needed. Hopefully next window

Very good result for Arsenal, they clearly came for the point and fully deserved it

Though, I find it interesting how certain posters call Newcastle timewasting FC and thug FC etc haven't extended the same to Arsenal? They spent the game kicking City players and Raya was wasting time from the first half

(Fwiw I have no issues with the tactics they employed, I understand lesser sides would be foolish to go toe to toe with City and ultimately it's the responsibility of the referee to clamp down on time wasting, I just don't like people that are hypocrites)

The lack of pace up front meant we never had an outlet to stretch man city. The final ball from midfield was also very poor, just sloppy.

With possibly cagey games to come at old Trafford and WHL, Arsenal will meed to be clinical.

Jesus shouldn't be starting any more games this season

Yes but due to fixture congestion. Arsenal were out of league & fa cup at an near early stage . Now it’s a game every 3 days , squad comes into play . Injuries will also play a part .

Predicting premier league is almost impossible this season . I think maximum Arsenal can drop is 5 points to win the league .

🤣 WWE United play like this is pretty much every big game, this is the 1st time all season Arsenal have played in such a manner.

Let's not even make such silly comparison. So your hypocrite comment is hilarious. You won't see Arsenal play like this for rest of season. Yet WWE FC will continue to play in such a manner.

So Arsenal kicked City players? City players were fouling as well. The referee did a good job of not throwing cards around.

Arsenal have a lot of players back from injury now, compared to January / February where we had players missing.

All 3 top teams have players missing at different points in season.

Now like every season whoever manages their squad the best in last 9 games of PL will win the league.

I understand its Easter and Jesus may have some excuses for today, but his body language and general demeanour is such that you can't depend on him at pressure end of season

What utter nonsense, this is exactly the hypocrisy I was talking about

You won't play like this again because you are better than other teams

I thought the referee was poor because he allowed Arsenal to commit so many fouls without handing out any cards, that helped Arsenal as it disrupted the flow

Anyway, carry on being a hypocrite, time wasting and persistent fouling is wonderful when you do it but terrible when others do it

Sadly for all 3 teams another injury or two is likely with this congestion. Arsenal squad is better than last season, however thin with elite forwards , so cannot afford to lose Saka.

@Mamoon my fav prediction specialist, please predict remain PL results for Arsenal or don’t if it’s all wins

🤣🤣

No hypocrisy at all, pretty much every big game WWE united look to play in a safety 1st thuggish manner.

Arsenal did this as a one off, so yeah its a huge difference.

It's like a HW boxer going in and looking to knock someone out every fight, but as a one off looks to just box and use their Jab.

In comparison you get a fighter looking to spoil and making a fight scrappy every fight.

The irony of you complaining about a team persisting fouling. When WWE FC run around smashing people in face and pushing people in the back.

newcastle essentially are a modern day Stoke city / Wimbledon interms of style of play

Arsenal don't have any elite forwards and that's where ultimately they will fall short in title race. Today isn't 1st time Jesus has missed chances, saka rarely plays well vs man city.

Every team needs a clutch player who gets those goals when you really need them, it's doesn't have to be your main striker. When Arsenal last won PL title, players like ljungberg would get the vital goals when needed, a bit like what Mane use to do at Liverpool.

Any ways Arsenal need to beat Luton weds, as you will bear Sheff utd.

After that I hope Man utd beat you like they did in cup 😉

Hilarious how a Rugby team fan is talking about Arsenal tactics today.

How many shots on target did city have?

What did City do to force the game?

What did grealish and doku do when they came on?

Why did City not commit loads players forward like they normally do?

Both teams knew today was must Not lose. But whole focus is on what Arsenal did.

For as bad as Arsenal forwards were, Arsenal had best chances in the game.

certain teams play all the time like they are doing an Audition for wrestlemania 😉

Arteta has transformed Arsenal into the best defensive side in the league. Their evolution from a team that defended like clowns for years to a team that is impossible to breakdown shows Arteta’s genius.

Arsenal can have lean periods in front of goal but no team in the PL can beat them as long as there are no individual errors that you can’t account for.

Arsenal have advantage in the title race because of the way they defend, but Liverpool have been riding their luck all season and have fluked so many wins so you never know.

City look very flat. They have been minnow bashers this season. Their record vs the top 6 is so ordinary.

Yes the specialist striker missing could be huge . Although your remaining fixtures do not involve v too many great defenders so may be enough .

I dont think Liverpool will lose any more matches but 2-3 draws inc v Utd is possible

Newcastle finished in the top 4 last season, yet they were adopting the same tactics against all opposition. That's the difference.

Liverpool have only conceded 3 more goals with kids playing a lot of matches .

But I agree Arsenal look solid at the back but today there was no real intent to attack like title challengers , due to the opposition of course.

Advantage? So your prediction is Arsenal to win the league . Let’s hope this is the same as last year 👍🏽

William Saliba and Gabriel are the first centre-back partnership to restrict Erling Haaland to 0 shots on target both home and away in a single Premier League season.

What a duo

Exactly, glad you can see what I meant.

A team which has players like Gordon, guiameres, isak etc.. and they instead play WWE / Aussie rules/ NFL football

Hes sat on fence all season, saying Arsenal would finish top two but didn't commit to saying Arsenal would win title.

He's still scarred from last years humiliation.

Also if Arsenal end season trophyless he said he would write a written apology, which everyone knows is a lie

I’ve not seen a Liverpool team run around so much under Klopp . They are very motivated to send the boss with more trophies but can also bring its pressure.

It’s fascinating to see if Arsenal can rise to the huge challenge of both PL & CL business end but also a huge historic opportunity. Good for all fans

Arsenal should win all remaining home games. So it's down to away form to see if they can catch you lot.

A strong defence always gives you a chance, but worry is going to be in a tight game at WHL or OT who would get a clutch goal.

It's an interesting end to season ahead. Arsenal have to win either PL or CL to see season as success.

Newcastle discussion is on this thread brother 😉🤭

Seems like it's in this thread based on that performance your team put in at the Etihad

How are Newcastle catching strays on this thread 😂😂
People don't like being called out on their hypocrisy

I was actually waiting for Arsenal to put in a performance like this because it embarrasses those that like to dish it out but are unable to take it when the same criticism is levelled at their team
